72. Let’s create a 3rd - 4th gen gg (day 5)

  • 17 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Winners from last time: Jihyo (twice) Irene (red velvet) Karina (aespa) IMPORTANT: Remember how on day one I said that the max amount of people from each group is 1-2? Well since twice is a bigger group I went with two and we have already reached the max amount of twice members. No twice votes will be counted anymore. This week’s is the center. submitted by /u/No-Recording-3274 [link] [comments]

73. Has anyone else experienced this?

I have a playlist for just my ult group and then a playlist for every song that is not from my ult group. Then I have a playlist for every song, which is those two playlists combined, and named as such (not the name but for example "ult group + non-ult songs") All this has created a mental block in my head of sorts where I view my ult group music and non-ult group music as two fully separate distinct things. I also view all my non-ult group music as just one thing. Because of this, I kind of feel like I grow to resent my ult group music a bit. Because in my brain, when I listen to my ult group, I feel like I am locking myself into listening to only one group when the alternative is to listen to every other kpop song ever created. This is all because I only view kpop songs as one of two things, from my ult group, or not from my ult group. This leads to me listening to my ult group less than I normally would actually like to do. Also, since I am more familiar with my ult group music, I am more likely to skip it because I feel like I am wasting my time and stopping my self from listening to the entire vast world of kpop (all music that isn't my ult group) as I already know this song so well. Ik this sounds really stupid but idk how to get over this mental block. I still like having the playlists I do and I don't want to change them. Was just wondering if anyone else ever experienced this? submitted by /u/SnooOranges829 [link] [comments]

76. What can we do to know which Kpop companies treat trainees especially harshly and avoid them?

  • 18 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

The companies put in their contracts that the trainees cannot share things from their training but some trainees shared some seriously horrifying and concerning things, while mentioning that some companies arent like that. With this, these companies don't get backlash for what they do and can just continue freely doing it. I'm at loss about what to do. I don't want to support an industry like that but I also don't want to stop liking Kpop as a whole submitted by /u/Guitarbox [link] [comments]

77. Sharing my K-pop story as a returning fan.

  • reddit.com language

Hi, I just want to share my K-pop story. Back in high school, the first K-pop song I've ever heard was Nobody by Wonder Girls. That was actually the first time K-pop hit the international charts here in the Philippines. After that came Super Junior and Girls’ Generation, but the group that really blew up was 2NE1, mostly because of Sandara Park. She was already loved here, so her debut made K-pop even bigger. Then SHINee and BIGBANG started dominating. But once I got into college, I kind of drifted away from K-pop. But I'm still aware of the new big names back then like EXO, BTS, TWICE, Momoland, BLACKPINK, and etc, their songs are everywhere. But I wasn’t keeping up like before. Fast forward to recently, me and my friend watched LE SSERAFIM live here in the Philippines. That was huge for me since I never seen a K-pop group live, I instantly became their fan. Then one day, I was listening to Blue Flame on YouTube while cooking, and autoplay played "The Chase" by "Hearts2Hearts". That song hit different, it instantly pulled me right back in. Now I’m all in for these girls. I will definitely support this new group. I’ve watched their vlogs and some of the stuff they hosted, they’re genuinely fun. My fave is Juun. She’s got this gentle vibe while having a fierce look. Like, she’ll freeze you with her stare and then melt you with her smile. And her dancing? No joke. Rookie by name, but she’s already on par with the seniors. I really hope Hearts2Hearts became big and maybe even become the new face of SM someday. submitted by /u/Effective-Bar2198 [link] [comments]

78. What is going to happen to NewJeans/Njz?

  • 18 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I’m honestly not super up to date with the whole HYBE/NJZ thing. All I know is that they left HYBE and rebranded as NJZ. But like… what’s next for them? With all the hate going around, losing most of their partnerships, and not having a proper comeback since last year, it kinda feels like they’re stuck. Do y’all think they’ll ever manage to bounce back to their old popularity, or are they just gonna slowly fade out? I really wanna believe in them, but the future feels so uncertain right now. submitted by /u/Optimal_Ad_6536 [link] [comments]

87. Thoughts about Aespa’s New Comeback “Rich Man”?

Loved the concept photos, and I actually quite like the song itself. It probably won’t top their 2024 era, but the song was pretty solid. Not too hyped, and not disappointed either! submitted by /u/Soft-Path1995 [link] [comments]

88. Treasure debut their first stage performance of Everything before the new album drop and it's everything a live performance should be

  • 20 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

They did the first performance of Everything at A-Nation festival today and damn I'm so hyped after watching this performance. https://youtu.be/JZEd9AON5c4?feature=shared It's Live Live and it's this song first time on stage with audience ever. The mics were set to the mmax. It's so satisfied to hear the mic sound bouncing the floor clearly when they rolled on the floor at 0:21. The sound mix is crisp and the energy is through the roof even though the temperature is like 100F in Japan when they perform. Live vocals is not new for them. It's their thing at festivals and concerts. Just last week they did this fantastic set at TIMA award (I always appreciate when there is a good quality broadcast instead of having to chase after fancams). I just wish people who love live vocal in kpop get to see them more. https://youtu.be/rqCrYfsZ_xg?si=zaIo2w_39qY6qdQW I keep repeating B.O.M.B so many times especially at 16:49 It's frustrated as a fan sometimes having to go through YG abysmal promo tactics knowing how talanted the group are. I want to scream everytime they drop a performance like this because I want to hype the new album but we still haven't got any MV teaser when their title track, Paradise, and the mini album will drop in 2 days. Anyway, for this comeback, they will be in Treasure"s western boyband era. Song like Now Forever is very 1D and Better than Me is like Westlife reincarnation. However, if Everything is any indicator, rap line will always box all the songs into Treasure's code. Track samples: https://youtu.be/JF3IqLzNbk4?si=xBt1Gwu2PruKLspW TL;DR: Everything is a banger especially live. Treasure will have a comeback Sep 1st. submitted by /u/NewSill [link] [comments]

89. Storytime: My professor rejected all original stories but accepted the kpop fanfiction

So we were given a word, ans had to write a narration on it, I wrote mine, first one got rejected "it's to small" okay lets add more to it, nope, still got rejected, then the class ended for the day, so I forgot about it but then remember it the night before the next class, I couldn't think of anything, so I was listening to music and it happened to play a kpop demon hunter song, so I was lke okay, lets name a character rumi, and I decided to name the next character the next song's artist, it was jungkook, so i made them a couple just changed jungkook's name to jake so prof can pronounce it, and then next song was red light so I was like nice let's make bangchan the affair patner of jungkook, so jungkook cheats on Rumi. (For obvious reasons I didn't mention Jungkook's and Bang Chan's name in the final work) I was so sure he (professor) would reject it but he liked it and finally approved it 😭😭😭😭. submitted by /u/Dash_tea_L [link] [comments]

90. Radio Stations playing Kpop Songs, both US and Europe (UK included)

  • 20 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

There's a video on TikTok where a Stay filmed herself listening to a UK radio station while the host was reading who got on the UK charts. She was bummed out that, while getting a good place on the UK album chart and the singles chart, they didn't play Skz's new TT. Now this is just an example but does your country play Kpop songs? Excluding KDH and the ones featuring Western artists. submitted by /u/Still_waiting221 [link] [comments]
