14. Is this idea stupid or generally not going to work? Kpop movie where all the kpop acts are actually small gods holding a "dance competition"

  • 3 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

For many reasons which I once typed out and deleted I had an idea to make a series about dancing. And that turned into an idea where there's a dance battle idea. And that turned into a dance battle of the gods. And that turned into a kpop dance battle of the gods movie, probably because of all the idol bands doing each other's dances all over the internet; and so on.... Anyways, it might be stupid. But what I'm really here for is this.... does it sound like a thinly veiled criticism of kpop concert problems (like safety issues) and if so, is it a problem? If it is, it was unintentional or subconscious. In terms of problem: not interesting for a story, too thinly veiled - on the nose so as to be hitting you in the face with it, rude in some way, and so on... Would you guys have a problem with your idols shown in a movie or series this way (movie has less acts series might not work... what do you guys think?) People have strong feelings about kpop so I thought maybe I should bring it up to the fans while in the planning stage because it's harder to change later. I feel like it's a problem if I'm doing something people think is rude without realizing it, since kpop groups adn their various corporations and teams are real people and not fictional characters. The idea is really just to make a movie that a bunch of kpop groups could be in. Do you guys, as fans, generally hate this idea or think it's fine? I did not copy kpop demon hunters I had this idea and had never seen that or knew the plot, I just saw KDH because I heard about it and realized it might be like this idea. Not looking for any form of flattery, praise, etc., thank you just in case... just trying to constructively complete a project. https://www.reddit.com/r/GMMTV/comments/1mp7nag/wrote_a_movieseries_premise_for_lykn_based_on_a/ submitted by /u/No_Spare8150 [link] [comments]

18. Why are the moderators for Katseye subreddit so strict

  • 3 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I'm a huge Katseye fan and a memeber of the Katseye subreddit. I try to post stuff all the time but the moderators are so strict and only allow posts that they see fit. It's a well run subreddit but I feel like they really limit discussions making it look like a company run sub and not something for the fans. I'm not saying I want to post bad content or hate on any of the members but it's like you can only show excitement in their terms. I'm dying to know how other people feel about it. PS. This is purely about the mods and not an invitation to hate on the group or the girls. submitted by /u/Appropriate-Key-9958 [link] [comments]

21. What do you think can be done to promote Soojin?

  • 4 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Soojin just had a comeback and with the news about her U.S tour being cancelled of course there's comments about not being promoted well. Question is how exactly would BRD promote Soojin? It doesn't seem like going on any major music shows is an option. She managed to get on Studio Choom for Agassy, Show Champion and Airang for Mona Lisa, and recently on Show Champion for Baditude. Now Airang got cancelled so it seems like she's one music show down, I don't know why they don't try Studio Choom again, maybe it's too expensive? I'm not sure if going on variety shows is an option. Whether it's because BRD can't afford it or they just don't think it's a good idea because of the scandal is unclear. So looking at it realistically what would be the best way to promote her. I'm thinking focusing more international markets like Japan assuming her reputation hasn't been too damaged there. Or maybe the U.S doesn't have to be something a few radio shows, even if it's something indie I think it could work or maybe the Zach Sang show, assuming BRD could arrange for it, he's had multiple kpop groups on there. Promoting internationally would require her learning the language, even if it's just the basics since she's a soloist she doesn't have English speaking members that can translate and all that. And she'd also have to step out of her shell a little. That's really all I can think of. So looking at realistically what exactly do you guys think BRD can do to promote Soojin better? submitted by /u/ElectronicPianist857 [link] [comments]

┏━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┓ Hey everyone! I hope you all had a great week. Mine was enjoyable, filled with music that set a positive tone for the month of September. It's hard to believe there are only three months left after September—time flies! I'm excited to share this week's new releases with you, so let's dive in and take a look at what's been released. ┗━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┛ https://preview.redd.it/et6cvnb1vinf1.jpg?width=1536&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=102c2fe2a4574eafd36d32e73738f248291feb04 Best of the Week: September 1st Never Say Never - Zerobaseone Zerobaseone returned with their first studio album, delivering nine killer songs and a Korean version of "Now or Never." ICONIK opens up the album, bringing in a funky vibe that opens up the album wonderfully for me, as it pulls me right into the project. Dumb might be my favorite song on the album as the group delivers a killer performance. I love the funky-trap vibe that Dumb brought to the table, as I’ve had it on repeat. Star Eyes has this hopeful pop vibe to it that works with the group's sweet vocals. The hook for that song explodes with color, adding to the hopeful vibe. I Know U Know ends the project on a ballad, one that closes out the album perfectly. Zerobaseone delivered a project that has been on repeat for me since there are so many killer tunes on this album that keep pulling me back. https://preview.redd.it/lbx1yhjevinf1.jpg?width=251&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8a17215dc4ee55868eeedb7e37d0014507ad3ea6 ━━━━━━━━☓ ━━━━━━━ Other Korean Releases of the Week: September 1st 時よ止まれ - ILLIT ILLIT is back, officially debuting in Japan, and I’ve been enjoying what they have delivered. The group’s overall sound fits perfectly with Jpop. The title track is wonderful as it brings in a funky-pop vibe that feels like an extension of their Korean releases. The hook has been stuck in my head since its release, popping up on my playlist like crazy. The vocals from the members are smooth, perfectly fitting the vibe, making this another excellent track from the group. I’m glad the group released music in Japan cause they fit that sound really well. https://preview.redd.it/fz6h9azlvinf1.jpg?width=900&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7fde59a3827de57f189fde7bf3ec49b5d2af91bf ━━━━━━━━☓ ━━━━━━━ September 2nd Colors - Jeong Sewoon Jeong Sewoon returns with a new single called Colors which opens with an acoustic guitar that blends with the singer. I’ve always loved the sound Sewoon brings to the table, as I’ve been following him since his debut. This new single has an indie-pop vibe. The vocals fit the instrumental, as I’ve been enjoying what he brought to the table. I’m glad the singer is back with a new single that I know will be on repeat for me for a very long time. https://preview.redd.it/ubp3a7oxvinf1.jpg?width=900&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cff6733edd760c6a0621d11f46df15f63cb1a34b ━━━━━━━━☓ ━━━━━━━ Non-Korean Releases of the Week: The Dead Dance - Lady Gaga Lady Gaga is back with a new single that has also been added to the reissue of her Mayhem record from earlier this year. This new song is fantastic with its disco dance-pop vibe that blends wonderfully with Gaga’s voice. The performance from Gaga is killer, fitting the instrumental like crazy. The hook is something that will be stuck in my head like crazy, as it’s something that can pull the listener. I’ve been loving Gaga’s music she has been putting out this year as it’s been fitting her. I’m excited to have this tune on repeat cause it’s so catchy I can’t stop listening to it. https://preview.redd.it/8m2vgyx3winf1.jpg?width=681&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1f1a4da944db987fb54a2386f347b15808ec258f ━━━━━━━━☓ ━━━━━━━ Lastfm Weekly Roundup (August 29th - September 4th) Artist: Twice https://preview.redd.it/8bz4ieefwinf1.jpg?width=610&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9f84912ab2cb890b68faf320d135956a38fe324c ━━━━━━━━☓ ━━━━━━━ Album: Enemy - Twice https://preview.redd.it/j8xttbkhwinf1.jpg?width=700&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ac70131c926ef8e6679a7c8cddbbca03527428c5 ━━━━━━━━☓ ━━━━━━━ Song: Like 1 - Twice https://preview.redd.it/731c7m2iwinf1.jpg?width=1500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=79c311cafb0c2a1c70ef2f756f9b94405ef92f2a submitted by /u/Maltifandom23 [link] [comments]

Marcus just turned 16 last week btw. I just feel proud as a fan coz though kid has been pursuing his interests as actor, theater actor (lion king musical) to idol (now he’s been into songwriting and producing music)…he’s got a balanced schooling x idol x social life(based from his posts with his circle of friends). Marcus also has a university scholarship waiting for him…so yeah, congrats and may everything works well for him in the new chapter of his idol x student life. 🥹🥳 submitted by /u/Conscious-Cap-7250 [link] [comments]

24. Was it inevitable for you to get into K-pop?

  • 5 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Do you think getting into K-pop was inevitable for you if so from what point and why? Or did you get into the sheer chance? I frequently ponder this as a quote stuck with me from ‘Coleydoesthings’ ‘entering the K-pop fandom’ video where she states ‘you either die an anime fan or live long enough to become a K-popper’ For me this ended up true though I would expand the anime part to include the rest of modern East Asian and Thai media as the fandoms have a lot of crossover. Once you get into one at somepoint you try the rest. Participation in multiple of these space creates a greater chance of a crossover event occurring where a piece of media acts as a bridge from one fandom to another. This idea was explored in her ‘Fandom Pipeline’ video which explored the idea of cross fandom transfers on a larger scale. The other aspect of this is traits that lead you to liking certain things and that in addition to whatever the ‘being into fandom’ traits are making you more likely to get into something. For me I had a further 4 susceptibility factors being a fan of amvs / animatics, musicals, being a pop fan already and most importantly being hella gay. These interests made it more likely for me to enjoy K-pop if I got the momentum to try it. The first two opened me to the music performance aspect, the third meant the music would more likely appeal to me and finally being gay made me both open to girl groups but also an easy target of boy groups (as dam the visuals go hard). With all these things I suspected it was a matter of when not if for me to get into K-pop. And so when it finally happened it was because of a musical animated movie with female pop stars and pretty men. The film was an easy watch to enjoy then I started with girls groups but then got locked in by boy groups. So I put the question out was it inevitable for you to get into K-pop? submitted by /u/ARG_obesessed [link] [comments]

26. People who unironically try to gatekeep idols are weird as hell

  • 5 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I was contemplating whether to post this here, or in r/kpopthoughts. But the more I keep thinking about it, the more I have a feeling its gonna escalate into a rant, cause it's been bothering me for a while. For example, every so often, I would stumble across posts or comments where people would actually try to gatekeep idols or groups, with captions like "Girlgroup XY is for the girls". And of course I know that most of these people don't actually mean it that seriously. But some people do, and those are the people that sometimes make me wanna stop interacting with the community altogether. Like, I had one person tell me in the comments that I'm too old to be a fan of Rosé and that I should rather take care of my wife. Which is funny because first, I'm one year younger than her and second, I have no wife 😂 But I guess because I'm a man, that person thought I should not stan Rosé? Or girlgroups in general. Recently I'm really into Katseye and I literally had people call me a creep for being a fan of them, without me giving them any reason to do so? Like, no inappropriate comments of any kind or anything like that. Those where just a few examples I've experienced over time and I know that this isn't the first post of this kind, but it still kinda bothers me that some people forget that this is about music and unironically try to tell me whom to stan is acceptable based off my gender. Like girl, if you think the only reason why a man would stan a girlgroup is because of some sexually motivated motives, then I am not the problem, you are. Thank you for reading, I hope this was ranty enough :D Have a great day everyone, much love to yall submitted by /u/No_Actuary6662 [link] [comments]
