7. Y'all need to stop playing psychic with idols

  • 1 hour ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Ok so I know my example isn’t Kpop but Katseye, but it’s literally the same thing I’ve seen over and over with Kpop idols too. Fans have this thing where they forget idols actually have lives outside of what we see, and then they just… start making stuff up to fill the gaps. The one that got me so bad it triggered me to post this (lol) was a video of Katseye arriving in Korea in their tracksuits. Lara walks by the camera looking, in my opinion, completely chill and normal. But of course, some people just had to say something about her “offstandish attitude” (which is ridiculous btw). Then I saw this comment saying: “for the people in the comments wondering why Lara looks mad, it’s because she was still worried about Manon fainting after they pranked her on live yesterday.” Like??? Hello??? How are you pulling a full emotional diagnosis out of a THREE second clip of her literally just walking?? She looked fine. Normal. Y’all acting like you can read her entire brain through a .5 second eye twitch. This is the thing though—people take these little crumbs and spin them into full-on soap operas. Two idols don’t sit next to each other one time and suddenly they’ve got “tension.” Someone doesn’t smile as wide and suddenly there’s “trouble in the group.” It’s not that deep. You’re not uncovering some hidden truth, you’re just projecting whatever story you want onto them. These idols have lives outside of the 1 hour live a week that may make you think you know them better than you really do. And yeah maybe it’s mostly younger fans doing it, but let’s be real: there are grown adults out here playing pretend detective too. At some point you’ve gotta accept that idols don’t exist for you to analyze like fictional characters. They’re actual people living actual lives, and shocker — we don’t get to know every single detail of it. Sometimes a tired face is just a tired face. (also I know my post may sound like a generalization, so yes I know this is a very small minority of Kpop fans (and fans in general) that do this, if this doesn't apply to you, you shouldn't feel offended) submitted by /u/Due_Improvement_5699 [link] [comments]

9. 3WAY are seemingly releasing remakes of some of PIXY's songs for their new EP

  • 1 hour ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

When PIXY disbanded, there were rumours that the girls wanted to continue, but someone had bought the rights to their music so they could no longer perform it. I guess the rumour is true. 3WAY has some trainees from PIXY's old company, so potentially their company bought the rights to the music alongside the trainees. I've seen groups do remakes before e.g. aespa's version of Dream's Come True, but it's so odd to see a group re-release several songs from someone else's discography. Falling and Flip a Coin are the two best songs from their last album. submitted by /u/leashall [link] [comments]

10. UPCOMING NEW BOY GROUPS - DO THEY BRING BACK THE BOY GROUP HYPE ???

  • 1 hour ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

That's the question... WILL THEY ??? With how the girl groups are sailing through, it's difficult for nowadays boygroups to even compete. Since 4th gen, girl groups have been dominant till now. Only selective boygroups have pravailed. And now with all the major players in the market debuting boy groups within the next year, do we see that boy group surge again... or it's just another wave passing by??? What ya'll think??? submitted by /u/Daddy1007a [link] [comments]

12. There are pays and there are PAYS

This is not an important topic but I just thought of this when I saw the new announcement of Felix fronting a new Tambourins campaign called ‘Sunshine’ (aptly named after our sunshine Mr Felix). At the same time I saw some discussions saying that some big company newly debuted groups who successfully chart earns a lot and it got me thinking (liking these 2 events together). The concept of newly debuted groups earning a lot with them charting high and going everywhere is what we precieve. Likely in reality it is not. Companies spend a lot on these new groups to debut them. Training, food, travel, clothes, behind the scene team from make up to fashion director, music videos, promotion from social media ads to video ads, playlistings etc - all these are expenses. And the bigger your promotion it is, the bigger your expenses are. And lots of groups from big companies even manage to secure big ads/CFs from day 1 (some even before their debut!) like high end fashion brand ambassadorships. This is not possible for a group that is literally unknown a day before to get paid like Hollywood A-lister or even Korean famous actors/actresses for a big brand unless there is a deal going on. Like if you give my new group A a brand ambassadorship, I give you my famous group B idol/group for another brand ambassadorship. Or their pay is actually very little. All these brand ambassadorships will only pay artists accordingly - if you are famous, you get a bigger leeway to negotiate terms and get paid more as opposed to newly debuted groups, no matter how famous their companies are or how famous they become LATER, at the end of the day, you negotiate your worth at the current times, not by possibilities or promises. Thus back to the topic how people seem to think newly debuted groups get rich from day 1 if they become famous later, it is not so. The more the company invest in your work, the more expenses you acrue, the less your profit is. It seems so logical but from comments I read everywhere, I can see lots of people do not think so and think idols especially those from super famous companies, earn a lot from day 1. No wonder people are still shocked to learn there are idols who actually earn nothing or very little even though they appear ‘well off’ during their active period of activity. It always depends on how the company pay you and how much the company is also spending on you. Those luxury brand ambassadorships will probably not be paying you much if you are a day old idol, even if you come from a big company, but it is a great start nonetheless that idols from smaller companies will not have the same chance at all. So if an idol A who are new has the same ambassadorship as idol B who are famous, though both are BA of the same brand, the pay will likely differ like night and day. And the treatment from the brand will probably also differ. Again, this is not even an important topic or anything, it just got me thinking. submitted by /u/Many-Ad-9007 [link] [comments]

14. ILLIT feel like LOONA's younger sisters (/pos)

  • 2 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I started stanning ILLIT just after RUNEXT lineup came out, and had no idea how much of an impact they'd have on me 2 years later. As a huge orbit who ults LOONA, their "disbandment" really upset me a lot, but something about listening to the full SRM album when it came out really brought something in me reminding me a lot of LOONA, especially Midnight Fiction, and since their other releases, I've always thought of ILLIT as LOONA's little sisters, both having some similarities in a magical girl kind of concept, albeit ILLIT being more whimsical than LOONA but still, and their discographies give me similar vibes, with songs like Oops by ILLIT being very [12:00] EP by LOONA adjacent, their whole Midnight Fiction-Pimple-Little Montser-Bamsopoong songs giving me such [XX] EP by Loona vibes. I rarely watched other groups content outside of music videos apart from LOONA, even if i consider myself a stan of the group keeping up with promotions and posts and all that, but the only other group I've been able to just sit down and watch all their little youtube content releases, lives, etc has been ILLIT and I enjoy them so much. ILLIT have been ult wrecking me in that sense for the last 2 years. I consider both of the girl groups as my ults nowadays and i feel like ILLIT help fill the void of the lack of OT12 LOONA . stanning LOONA really helped me get through tough times in previous years and so having ILLIT fill that similar vibe for me really helps a lot and i love both groups so much. I'm so proud of both girl groups overcoming tough periods in their careers and making it far. IDK if any other orbit has felt this way but ive been meaning to put this feeling somewhere and into words, i didnt word it the best but i hope someone can relate/understand me 😭 submitted by /u/midnightdancing12 [link] [comments]

I work in the K-Pop industry (marketing/data side) and thought I’d drop 3 quick insights: Virality is engineered — short clips, challenges, and algorithm triggers. Global fans aren’t “extra” anymore — groups are planned for global from day one. ROI matters — trainees are picked not just for talent but also global appeal + social potential. 21. Some K-Pop thoughts to consider

  • 3 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

"Visuals being useless": I genuinely have never disagreed with an opinion more than this because of how often it has proven to be false. In my opinion, the whole role of visual is just the K-Pop industry understanding and manipulating the way we consume and become invested in fandoms. More often than not, especially as a first time listener to any new music groups, you are immediately drawn to who you subjectively percieve as most attractive. Whilst i understand it's subjective as beauty is in the eye of the beholder, there are general trends in who is considered the most handsome. This is why I genuinely believe the visual, whose fancams or edits within the community often go viral, do have a role and actually bring in more people to the fandom. The visual generates visual interest in the music videos, in concerts, live performances etc. I can really validate this by the reactions of Eyekons (fans of girl group Katseye) to the perceived mistreatment of Manon. I do not want to get into depth about this but the way the eyekons were reacting to the possibility of Manon leaving the group exemplified that the visual often is the first reason fans get interested in the group, and then stanning and enjoying the music is a second priority. Many eyekons were saying "I only stan Katseye for Manon, I only joined the fandom for Manon" and the like, which only makes me feel that the visual is actually a really important role in K-pop especially. This entire paragraph is just being defending how they attract listeners but I don't want it to come across as saying their only talent is being attractive because many of K-Pops most well known visuals do have immense talent but being a visual is their "official position". Facial Expressions I am not sure if this is just me but recently I have getting back into other K-Pop groups (i have been many an ArmyBlink since 2018) and i have really enjoyed TxT's music and performances; however there is one thing that irks me so much but pains me to say. Taehyun's facial expressions look always so scared; like it prevents me from enjoying his performance because his facial expressions never change. Even in some of the TikTok's they do as a group, it becomes more apparent. Like there is one with Yeonjun and its kind of a seductive dance, and HE LOOKS PETRIFIED? Like he is so talented especially vocally but his dancing is also so developed but he genuinely seems to have one facial expression This point also stands with Tzuyu from Twice; in performances for This is For or Strategy; she just looks so out of it, like not scared but just indifferent. It really takes away from her performance. Okay, long rant from me, so let me know what you think. Again, for those mentioned it wasn't hate towards any idol just genuine observations submitted by /u/IndividualBluejay227 [link] [comments]

✨ I received my English Storytelling Instructor certificate! ✨ The English fairy tale instructor course showed me the fun of English and performance, and this storytelling program broadened my perspective on how to approach books. 📚 I’ll always remember that when the heart opens, learning opens too, and that if the teacher enjoys it, the children will also enjoy learning. 💛 Getting a certificate itself isn’t too difficult, but I realized the true value depends on how much passion you put into it. ✨ It’s been a long time since I felt this excited about studying. 💛 I learned so much, but I’ll stop here for today for the sake of everyone’s eyes 😢 It was truly a precious and happy time.
