Now ive been a kpop fan for a long time and this is probably one of the things that stresses me the most when it comes to fans. This btw is not targeting a specific fandom or anything, but i always find it so funny whenever new groups are announced that there are already 300 fan pages dedicated to them. Also im so tired of reading tweets like " oh 5th gen groups better be ready cuz X is gonna be the best 5th gen dancer/vocalist/rapper" and so on, we literally havent seen stuff from this ppl/heard the music for people to be like this. submitted by /u/seulgibreadd [link] [comments]
we need more of this from kpop groups/solo artists, i’d be first in line to buy it lol submitted by /u/danielcaesarismyman [link] [comments]
I've been a kpop stan since 2016 so i know and listen to a lot of groups but i never understand people who only listen to one group. Like you miss out on alot of great music. I literally stan like 15 groups, sure NCT is my main group because they just debuted the moment i got into kpop and i really wanted to stan a group where i can say i was there from the start how ever, i always keep up with other groups who make great music and also keep up with what's trending right know. This is one of the reason why i can't argue with kpop fans, cause they only say there group is good and every one else is trash even tho they don't listen to a other group. submitted by /u/Injeolmie_04 [link] [comments]
There is a theory going around with an image of groups' scheduled releases per quarter, and apperently it says BTS release for Q4 (Sept/Oct/Nov). What surprises me is that it states full-length album...obviously for a number of reasons, such as when would they even have the time to record enough new songs for a full-length album on top of everything else. Though, there is another theory that states that the album will basically be ''HYYH songs from the vault'' type of thing since HYYH has a 10 year anniversary this year. Just a speculation for now I think, but won't be too far-fetched. What are your thoughts on this? Personally as a non-fan who just casually follows I'd say there is a risk such a release might damp the hype for a future new era with an actual full-length album since usually the first release from artists after a long hiatus gets the most attention. I also don't know if there will be a single pre-release for it or not, but I think either way with possibly late October or even November release, their digitals will suffer/ruin their chances for award shows. submitted by /u/oddv8gue [link] [comments]
Okay, I’m curious and I’m not sure if anyone has the answers for this, but when artists go on hiatus, whether it’s for surgery, mental health, personal issues, etc—does the company still pay them or do they basically do commission work when they perform and such? Are they salary? Does their pay get docked? I’m just curious because these artist have such a drive at the sacrifice of their mental health and even physical health. Is it the money??? submitted by /u/Cash-Wren [link] [comments]
Annoys me because I didnt even say anything towards anyone? How is someone pissed at this? submitted by /u/Lost-Investigator266 [link] [comments]
Ever since the news of Youngseo debuting broke I can't stop thinking about this whole situation. I wish we'd knew what really happened behind the scenes and what were those future activities that were discussed that ended up in her terminating the contract. Clearly they were not mistreated (at least from what we can see from illit girls they seem to be happy and thriving), so what was all that about? Was it really just creative difference? On such an advanced stage of debut preparations as well? Something definitely has happened since I find it hard to believe that the company would let her go so easily, especially with the fact that she was one of the most popular contestants of R U Next. I was really counting on her redebut but the Allday Project is definitely not what I imagined for her in any shape or form, especially knowing how TBL usually treats their artists and handles their promotions (or rather lack of it...). They've been doing better with MEOVV but still, debuting new group so quickly one after another, and for it to be a co-ed project, which are not that common, I have no idea what to think about it. I'd really whish to support Youngseo but even looking at the concept photos, for now it looks like same old same old from TBL. What are your thoughts about this situation? Were you expecting for Youngseo to return with such concept? submitted by /u/nabirelle [link] [comments]

I’ve noticed so many people recently are being ignorant to the damage of AI on the environment and I wanted to push it more in kpop spaces in hopes it will raise more awareness of it. I feel like use of AI in kpop isn’t actually being addressed enough as it should be. Idols are using chat gpt, fans are using AI for trends, fans are making AI covers, companies and idols are using AI for comebacks, etc. The servers that are used to produce these AI images and chat boxes have to be cooled for them to work, the things that are being used to cool them are fresh water and electrical systems which is using up so much energy and fresh water supplies. We also have to consider pollution, climate change, droughts, acid rain, etc. which are also having dire effects on the environment. I honestly beg kpop fans to boycott idols and companies for using AI, call out idols for using chat gpt and also stop using AI for silly trends. AI is unfortunately being forced into every aspect of our lives, so please don’t contribute to the problem and speak out about it. (I’m very tired and sick while writing this so I’m sorry theres any mistakes) submitted by /u/M0us3Cheezz [link] [comments]

i’ve noticed after watching a lot of behind the scenes or vlog-style content from groups (NCT in particular), they offhandedly mention having schedule obligations or filming things at insane times, like going to the recording studio at midnight or filming music shows at 3 am. does anyone know why this is the norm? is this a korea thing or just a kpop thing? submitted by /u/peanut-gallerist [link] [comments]

That's it. That's the post. 😭 NO but for real. It's one of my first ever KPOP songs I've heard (without knowing it was KPOP because it's an all English song) and I still love it so much to this day. It would easily be at the top of my on repeat playlist. submitted by /u/YvetteKnowsBest [link] [comments]
I hope this is relevant but I was reading an article that really resonated with me. All I could think about is how it applied to the world of K-pop. You guys may find it really interesting as well. It basically challenged the notion that a lot of K-pop fans have that, although many idols are being commercially sexualized for the viewer they still have power in choice. When people criticize companies for posing idols in suggestive ways or wearing visibly uncomfortable stage outfits. Like the choice to wear safety shorts or the choice to not engage doing a sexual dance move. I remember the outrage for Le Sserafim’s debut photos and how people claimed they had a say in it and thus the harm(?) was minimized. I also think about Kiss of Life’s reputation as a “grown girl group” because all the members were of age when they started doing sexy concepts (or close to the age of majority, I can’t remember) and thus any sense of the lyrics being harmfully suggestive for a 17 year old to sing were suddenly okay because she’s “actually 18”. I hope this makes sense lol, just some thoughts and it made me open my eyes in terms of how I view and consume media targeted to younger girls/women. submitted by /u/2001exmuslim [link] [comments]
i didn’t know whether to tag this rant or thought but here i am because that whole quiz was insane, i get that their whole thing is the bf concept but its like that for so many other groups that do said concept and do do it… not as intense as enhypen do it. and to make things worse you could see the members cringe at the quiz too, riki and sunoo cant hide their emotions anyways whenever theyre grossed out or cringing but jesus i felt so bad behind the screen for them lmao. im just more upset they dropped their older lore, aka what pulled me in fully. after orange blood it feels like they lost their identity and started pumping out fanservice you can tell makes the members uncomfortable at certain points or just whenever they do it. Even if fanservice has been a part of the enhypen branding since like day one, it's clearly getting out of hand. jungwon throwing in comments about how he doesn’t really vibe with the concept all too well and for some reason they (staff) just dont let him speak or he just stops himself. im convinced they were waiting for niki to turn 19 so they could get all this rolling and it makes me so mad since hes been forced to do weird fanservice since he was a kid and my heart hurts for him. this rant isn’t hate its just pilled up thoughs so dont take my opinion as gospel if you disagree submitted by /u/notoriouslozer [link] [comments]
Songs like: HWAA, Oh my god, HANN Put It Straight....etc. is what made stan i-dle. I do like their new songs but there is just something in the older music that makes it feel very nostalgic and the sound is very ancient sounding. I just wish they would come with another album like those again because they are truly amazing. And it's ok if you disagree, we all have different tastes and opinions. :) submitted by /u/SatisfactionAdept548 [link] [comments]
As the title says, if you had to choose one single kpop group (or soloist) to listen to for the rest of your life, what group would you choose and why? I would personally choose ITZY. They are one of my ult groups and they have a pretty big and diverse discography. submitted by /u/roses_are_rosie1206 [link] [comments]
╔══════════════╗ Hey everyone, today JYP girl group ITZY has returned with their new five-track mini-album, one I've been excited to hear. ITZY had a great 2024 delivering two fire albums that kept popping up on my playlist like crazy. I'm hoping this new album from the group will be something that will be on repeat for me. Now let's jump into the record and see what the producers and ITZY have brought to the table. ╚══════════════╝ https://preview.redd.it/mtievztc0y5f1.jpg?width=1536&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=04cd2b97c9beadd84174ef51d54ece3a6f0c1c7b Girls will be Girls - ITZY Girls will be Girls Ryan S. Jhun & The Wavys are the producers for the opening track on the album. The song opens with chanting vocals before the vibe is introduced. The members put on a great performance that blends wonderfully with the overall vibe. I love the attitude the members have as they flow with the overall vibe. The hook has been growing on me with each listen to this tune as it's starting to get stuck in my head. The instrumental beat section we get adds to the overall vibe opening up the album in a great direction. https://preview.redd.it/61d6e5zn0y5f1.jpg?width=610&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5688d6abedce73d78659e7f2b5528c9f87d7eb2a ━━━━━━━━☓ ━━━━━━━ Kiss & Tell The second song on the album gives ITZY a lot of vocal effects and autotune which took me by surprise. The backing track goes for this electronic synth vibe that does fit with the group, but it's the autotune making this tune a little strange for me. I do think the group still puts on a good performance, but I feel like we didn't need all these vocal effects cause the group has some good vocalists. I'm hoping this tune will grow on me, but with the members sounding like robots, it's going to be a challenge for this track to grow on me but will see as time goes on. https://preview.redd.it/wylto2yq0y5f1.jpg?width=2400&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=530ac913b227e86cbfb5e63921eba06779617c1f ━━━━━━━━☓ ━━━━━━━ Locked N Loaded Locked N Loaded is another song on the album becoming one of my favorites as ITZY puts on a killer performance. Synths open up the track as the member's smooth vocals come into the mix. I love the tone the members use in their singing as it as a little bit of depth to the tune. The hook has a bit of a bouncy vibe that works well with the overall vibe the producers crafted. One thing this song delivers is a guitar solo that adds to the vibe, but I will say wish this track was a bit longer cause it needs to be fleshed out a bit. https://preview.redd.it/5o4nzlqu0y5f1.jpg?width=2560&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=09b077ab157249ab2769730826e813ce3b6cca22 ━━━━━━━━☓ ━━━━━━━ 4. Promise Promise is the only 3-minute song on the album and a pretty sweet one. The members' smooth sweet vocals blend perfectly with the piano melody and the drum machine percussion section. I've always loved hearing a softer side to the group as it switches things up for them. Promise is my favorite track on the project as it works perfectly for ITZY and does sound like it's too short for its god. During the bridge, we get some high notes that add to the vibe keeping me interested in this tune and wanting to hear it all over again from the start. https://preview.redd.it/l68enfzx0y5f1.jpg?width=942&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=42f21dc691a8a80276b572c2b9f1462ecf2ee3b6 ━━━━━━━━☓ ━━━━━━━ Walk Walk closes out the album with a tune that's going to have to grow on me more. While the bouncy instrumental helps move the track forward I feel like the hook is a bit too repetitive for my liking. I find Walk does a decent job closing out the project, but feel like it could've been a stronger closer to this record. I hope this tune grows on me cause it does have moments I like from the verses to the group's vocals. Now I will say the hook grows on me a smidge, but this tune is way too short to grow into something amazing. https://preview.redd.it/661ustn11y5f1.jpg?width=610&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b265e2315f81eef01a474e5d91b67927e756c22c ╔══════════════╗ Summary: ITZY is back with a new mini album one that I think will be growing on me the more I listen to it. One thing I will say is a lot of the tracks need to be fleshed out more cause they are way too short and feel like they could've added a few more minutes to them. Kiss & Tell didn't need autotune cause I think ITZY has some good vocalists. Girls Will be Girls does a great job opening up the record while Walk closes out the album in a decent way. Promise is a sweet tune that shows a softer side of the group as it still fits the overall vibe of the album. I'm still glad the group has returned with new music, but I will have to see if this record will grow on me over time or will my opinion of it will stay the same. ╚══════════════╝ https://preview.redd.it/d53apl521y5f1.jpg?width=1000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f0320b6da69bb1c74449f4627fbfc779864215bf submitted by /u/Maltifandom23 [link] [comments]
