For me, I was already a found of jpop and jrock. From there my youtube randomly recommended me a dreamcatcher video, and I was sucked into the kpop whirlpool from there! submitted by /u/ConsciousGift1340 [link] [comments]
Like I'm sorry to break your straight delulu fantasy of getting with your fave, but you never had a chance even if they were straight. And is it really so hard to understand the want to see representation of queer idols out there? Everybody's all laughing and chanting encore when male idols queerbait, but then want to pitch money for protest trucks when an idol is actually gay. Make it make sense. It's even more frustrating when everyone points fingers at the more fem-looking idols and already hate them from the getgo. But if idols could be and are more openly gay, there'd be less hate bc people can then stop stereotyping the fem-looking idols (gays are more than twinks and butch lebaneses, in case you didn't know) while everyone then has some representation to look forward to while also enjoying their delulu fantasies equally. So yeah, I know haters are gonna downvote this but yall better put your remindme on when Mingyu comes out after he retires from the industry and ends up marrying Cha Eunwoo. I said it here first 🤣 submitted by /u/RaveGuncle [link] [comments]

Honestly at this point I feel like I’m being messed with. A couple weeks ago I made a post because I thought there were a lot of similarities between Unstoppable and Spinnin On It, but today, Miyeon released the intro film for her solo comeback, and it is jam packed with the snail (and snail noise) from Spinnin On It. Someone seriously needs to set them up on some kind of friend date/collaboration/trip to a snail farm. submitted by /u/zoooeys [link] [comments]

No hate to anyone, just my opinion, but I found this shop selling resin keychains using kpop idols baby photos. The only time I’ve seen people do something like this is with their ACTUAL own children or ADULT idols. Idk it just feels weird that someone is wearing some random persons baby photo on their lanyard or bag. I don’t think it’s wrong to appreciate the baby photos, because it’s always fun to see someone when they were little, but this feels like it’s too far. again, NOT trying to hate! submitted by /u/Ill-Teach9802 [link] [comments]

I completely agree that the whole thing was extremely tone deaf and looked bad for all the celebrities that attended and the event organizers as well. But I just want to say that this whole thing seems to speak to K-pop Idols wanting a scene like that where they can party and flirt with each other outside of music shows and award shows. They all seemed to have fun and just socialized and even though the cameras were there it was very laid back and no one seemed worried about backlash from fans. I doubt that it will happen again next year seeing as everyone is pissed (rightfully so), but is there a chance for idols to ever have there own gatherings and maybe even official after parties like this without worrying about what their fans will think? It seems like they really need it with how happy they all looked at the event. I'd love to know everyone's opinions. submitted by /u/Appropriate-Key-9958 [link] [comments]
I know that most idols (especially female one's) face so many bodyshaming comments because many focus on looks instead of talent. It's especially insane to me when it happens to teenagers like Wonhee. And most idols aren't even fat, but regardless all these comments are messed up and can truly cause so much harm to the idol receiving these comments. So in a world full of toxic beauty standards for kpop idols, are there any who haven't been body shamed much? submitted by /u/Sea-Republic8892 [link] [comments]
as BTS return for individual and group activities, an exciting new psychology research project is on the horizon! 💜 WHAT : - We are a group of researchers conducting this study for a research publication and need people to participate in a focus group - We are interested in exploring and gaining a deeper understanding of how being a member of a fandom community shapes our identities, how band members can serve as role models for fans, and how we integrate new cultural knowledge through our interactions in the fandom. - if you want to participate please see the poster below. the study has been approved by the College of Health, Medicine, and Life Sciences Ethics board 💜 HOW LONG : - the focus group will take approximately 60 minutes 💜 HOW TO PARTICIPATE : - Interviews will be conducted online via microsoft teams, you will only need a device that is able to connect to participate please express your interest and book a time here if you would like to participate - https://doodle.com/group-poll/participate/bWB1DXQa/vote You are free to withdraw from the study at any point during the online focus group or up to two weeks after the focus group, at which point the data will be anonymised and included in the analysis. Because focus groups are rarely anonymous, before the data is anonymised, it will be stored on a locked file on Brunel OneDrive If you have any further questions I am happy to answer them in the comments. please participate if you’d like and share with other army, thank you! No group name, no initials, no obvious hints. Just pure ✨vibes✨ and personality energy. Example: “Looks cold but is actually a soft-hearted chaos gremlin who probably doesn’t sleep.” Now you guess mine 😎 Your turn! I want to see how accurate we all are. submitted by /u/Itsjustonyx [link] [comments]
I love finding out bizarre or unexpected facts about idols. Things like: She was almost a professional athlete He used to be a kids’ TV actor Their family is secretly rich/royalty They’re fluent in 4 languages They’re scared of cucumbers (??) Give me your FAVORITE random idol facts that shocked you! submitted by /u/Itsjustonyx [link] [comments]

We, K‑Pop fans in Brazil, are very passionate and dedicated. We create active communities, organize translations, streaming campaigns and help promote groups. But we are also quite intense and competitive at times. I want to know your opinion: Do you think this dedication is positive or exaggerated? Have you had any notable experiences with Brazilian fans? Do you notice differences between fans from Brazil and other countries? submitted by /u/Fun-Diver-6166 [link] [comments]

They invited famous celebrities and many K-pop idols such as V, Karina and Wonyoung, but didn't focus at all on awareness and support for breast cancer victims/survivors. This year, Jay Park was also invited, but his song "Mommae" being performed was deemed insensitive and in bad taste, as it has references to breasts and is also seen as demeaning to women by some. Many of the invited celebrities wore revealing outfits and were seen posing with alcohol; Giselle from Aespa was seen drunk after the event in a video clip. There were almost no symbols such as the universally used pink ribbons, and only a few invites wore pink accessories in tribute (e.g. Byeon Woo-seok had a pink buttonhole flower). One very important thing to note is that this event, having been around for 20 years, has only raised around $1.1 billion KRW total (around USD$773,000). That means less than USD$40,000 raised per year, and what with all the extravagance of this event and their celebrity guests. I was curious if you guys had any thoughts? Feel free to share! submitted by /u/Leading_Charity8849 [link] [comments]
Irene renewed her contract with SM entertainment last year and everything seemed to be going well. Her solo debut “Like a Flower” achieved highest first-week sales of any female soloist from SM Entertainment in just one day, according to Hanteo. So why would SM not promote properly an artist with such potential like Irene? Her solo comeback is nowhere to be seen. And unfortunately she doesn’t receive any media presence from SM like CFs, brand deals, variety shows or broadcast programs. It’s like Irene’s potential is being wasted by her company, which is frustrating because she’s extremely popular and known for having one of the best visuals in K-pop. submitted by /u/LowTackle9946 [link] [comments]
Hello! So, as you may know, Purple Kiss is disbanding next month. (AHHHH) That cominded with their less-creepy rebrand lately has made me decide to look for more K-Pop/J-Pop group with the same concept! I REALLY love songs like "Intro: Save Me" "Sweet Juice" and "Nerdy!" I would prefer girl groups, but if y'all find a boy group with this vibe tell me please! Thank you! submitted by /u/HairyJellyBeanz [link] [comments]
