I see this often, I'll use KIOF as an example cuz it's the one I see the most but it's not exclusive to them obviously. Every time they're mentioned nowdays there's people saying "oh they apologized three times and you guys still won't let it go". And while I do think it's weird to be obsessed with a problematic group and that it's crazy to be sending them death threats and stuff, it's not a crime for people to not want to forgive an idol who did or said something really problematic. Especially when we know that some apologies are purely PR and the celebrity doesn't care. And in some cases it's kinda obivous because they only feel bad about the backlash and how it'll affect their career and not about their actions. And in KIOF's case it wasn't even their first offense too, Julie said the n word before, got called out on it, apologized saying she didn't know any better and that she'd educate herself and do better in the future, people let it slide. Only for them a hiphop themed party where they acted out harmful stereotypes of black women a couple years later (with no actual hiphop in sight). Just because they apologized three times doesn't mean people, especially black people have to accept it and forgive them. And I think it's kinda dumb when people use the "it was a long time ago" argument, because it doesn't change the fact that it happened. What makes you think they changed or feel bad about it? They know problematic stuff they said or did resurfaced and decided they'll just ignore it instead of owning up to it, and I'm sure there's been times where an idol wanted to address their problematic past but their company told them that they should ignore it and act like it never happened but I'm also sure there others who just don't care about what they did. We don't work at x kpop idol's company so we can't really know what happens behind the scenes but delusional fans always make the most convenient assumptions. The typical "if x kpop idol does something good it's bc they're a good person and they have a lot of freedom but if they do something bad I can't justify it's suddenly the company's fault and my faves had no say it" It's so weird to obsess over people who don't don't want to forgive x group and treat them like they're heinous blind haters. Like why are you so hung up on it to the point you're making several posts about how you're upset that people aren't forgiving your faves and magically loving them again? I don't even understand what the logic is behind it.
