I love crossover episodes. Especially ones with kpop idols and western celebrities. What are some of your favourite interactions? There's so many iconic ones! submitted by /u/0x1trinity [link] [comments]
I guess you could count Blah×3 and ringo as a horror concept in the mildest way possible, but that teaser for tunnel vision was so eerie and i loved it!!! Especially the elevator scene, that was a special kind of terrifying lol It's giving thriller movie? And reminded me of sweet home idk why Just hoping for another successful comeback 🩷 Please stick with this horror concept for the rest of promotions 😭 submitted by /u/Gold_Meaning3688 [link] [comments]
I've come across some social media platforms (specifically for K-pop) and everytime an idol uses their "lower chest voice register" (which is completely normal, and everyone has it), some fans begin to go "crazy" and saying things that the idol has a nice deep voice and that is his/her "natural voice". This has also leads to some thinking idols' "deep voices" (and this term is "misused" also) are their natural voices (like, for them, "deep voices" are just like hitting low notes in chest voice) when it's clearly not. For example, during a performance where IVE sang live their songs HEYA and Accendio, some people commented about Wonyoung's "deep voice" and saying "Omg, Wonyoung's natural tone" when that's clearly not what she sounds like. Her voice is not "uwu high-pitched", but it's not "tiring thick voice" also (again, Wonyoung still sings live stable). And sometimes people just misuse having a thick voice with having a deep voice (like, for example, Lily has a thick voice, but she clearly doesn't have a low tessitura, and outside K-pop, we have Lara Fabian, who has a really heavy and warm voice, but if you do enough researches about her vocals, her voice is NOT deep at all (it actually sets pretty high, around A3 - F#5)). Not only that, when some idols intentionally "darken" their voice, they also perceive it as "deep NATURAL voice" (some even go further to say it as "sInGiNg oPeRa" like that is 95% different from Opera, lol. If you guys don't believe me, here's the proof: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/9st0N5rLOTA Like...guys, Sunoo sings really good, but this is NOT opera, and this is not even close to opera, or maybe even "operatic imitation". This is completely messed up and completely DELUSIONAL!). And sometimes, this also happens where sometimes idols' voices are just tired after singing and dancing (which is normal), and some "Praise" them for having a "natural deep voice". Some K-pop needs to understand that knowing how to "darken" your voice (with vowel modifications, dropping larynx down, etc.) does NOT mean you have a natural deep voice, nor having "duality" (as if it's some special ability that only good singers have:))), like nearly everyone with a voice box can "darken" their voice (healthy or not doesn't matter, 'cause for most of the cases with 'deep voices', or more specifically and actually "darkening" their voices, are NOT natural or even healthy at all):))). Besides, people aren't only obsessed with "deep voices", they're also "obsessed" with having a "rough, husky" voice. I have to clarify that I don't object people liking things and having opinions, but some have gone far as to say nearly everything is "husky" and saying that idol has a "natural husky voice". Like, wtf!? Since when having a raspy voice due to unhealthy techniques is "natural"? And some K-pop fans even mask it up as "going through puberty" is just delusional. GOING THROUGH PUBERTY DOESN'T MAKE YOUR VOICE BEING RASPY/ROUGH!!! Most of the times it's due to unhealthy habits or misusing of voice (or even surgeries, etc.), but whatever it is, it's for sure not healthy at all. And finally, to conclude with, even you have a naturally deep voice, doesn't mean you can't have a HEALTHY BELTING TECHNIQUE! Some fans just throw random terms like "contralto", "bass", etc. (even though the idols are clearly NOT in those voice types) to defend their idols (well, you can defend your idols, but misusing technical terms doesn't make you smarter in anyway:))) is just EXTREMELY tiring. Like, I can show you examples of singers with "deep voices" but yet they still have a really good belting technique (look at Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Barbra Streisand, and Judy Garland!). There are A LOT more to say, but I decided to stop at this because I think it's already long enough, and some of my other ideas might overlap with those I've mentioned before. y'all remember those reposts where they have the image that says something along the lines of "u ever been catfished by a song !? like u heard a clip that sounded so good but the rest of the song was crap ?"? well let's do that again, but exclusively for teasers. you don't have to hate the song, you can even love it too, but you just have to wish that listening to the song felt like listening to the teaser. I'll go first: SKZ - FNF SKZ - TOPLINE SKZ - Chk Chk Boom SKZ - Thunderous SKZ - Circus SKZ - Maniac that's all I can think of so far. so how about you guys? submitted by /u/j2_skl_1011 [link] [comments]
many people are saying yseult should seek a legal team and sue them for plagiarism, what are your thoughts? submitted by /u/0x1trinity [link] [comments]
Hi guys! I’m a newer Kpop fan and wasn’t around for when the court stuff first started. I know people say they got a lot of hate at that time, and I continue to see a lot of hate for them now. I don’t know every detail about the court stuff (tho I know the gist of it) so maybe it’s something to do with that, but I’m genuinely confused why njs gets so much hate currently. Have they done something that warrants it? submitted by /u/Definitelynotacatx [link] [comments]

ok so idk if this is misogyny, or im delusional, but i've been a boy group & girl group stan for a while, is it only me or gg get so much more nasty comments than bg? the most popular one i see is the "they hate each other / x is jealous of y" discourses in EVERY SINGLE comment section. i see vids fancams of bg and i don't even remember if i'd found any comment about their appearance or performance in general, (which is a good thing!) but once its a gg fancam, there's ppl comparing to other gg, ppl criticizing the singing, dance, outfit, whatever tf it might be. i started stanning katseye recently and theyre not even kpop, theyre a global group, which ik theyre somewhat under hybe, but its just genuinely so damn annoying. (btw ive seen this behavior w bp, twice, gidle, nmixx, and many other kpop gg, so its not only katseye) why can't people just enjoy things and have fun? it was never that serious or deep someone would post a funny moments or fancam, and there has to be angry people in the comments. it's getting too much honestly, then again i notice that i barely see any of that under boy groups and it just makes me think its straight up misogyny submitted by /u/yts_art [link] [comments]
An idol messes up (like at the W Korea event), people come to their defense saying essentially: yeah, what they did was wrong but it did not harm anyone so it's okay AND PEOPLE UPVOTE IT??? Like yeah, no one literally died of breast cancer because an idol didn't bring up breast cancer awareness once in their speech at a breast cancer awareness event... But that doesn't make it ok. If I steal the organs of a dead person, that is not ok just because nobody got hurt. What stupid logic. We need to call it out. submitted by /u/SnooOranges829 [link] [comments]

When Nomination Predictions Match Except for One Artist and It’s Not About The Numbers The 2025 MAMA Best Dance Performance (Male Solo) nominees were just revealed — and Ten, who consistently ranked 3rd for three months in every metric-based prediction since July, somehow didn’t make the final list. Meanwhile, other artists from the same company (Kai and Mark) ranked lower in those predictions — and yet Ten was the only one left out. Instead, another SM artist, Key, was added even though Ten’s Stunner outperformed Hunter in both numbers and choreography reception. I mean yay! Good for them but what happened to Ten? Okay, let’s talk facts: · Stunner had sustained organic performance — no viral gimmick, just consistent global traction that’s not due to belonging to a big boy group (WayV is barely mainstream kpop) and to strong promotion. · His solo drops always coincide with another NCT soloist’s promo cycle (this year Mark, last year Taeyong), yet Stunner still trended and inspired tons of dance covers on YouTube and TikTok — with many creators used the EP logo for their thumbnails. · His past releases (Nightwalker, Birthday) continue to get fresh covers years later showing long-term influence among dancers. (even if you look up YT for new Nightwalker cover within a month you won’t be disappointed. In contrast, Hunter had higher budget and promo support, but the public engagement on dance content and the actual global performance of the track favor Stunner much more with Hunter at 1.7m Spotify streams and Stunner at 83m. Even Ten’s dance performance for Stunner and all his other stuff were received well. Babyzoo, who choreographed Stunner (who interestingly also choreographed Hunter after) said it was more challenging than Bambola — and that piece (Bambola) according to him was only possible “because it’s Ten” so imagine how high the standard is for Stunner. But still, Ten made it looked so easy and effortless and expressed it much better than anyone else could. And then yeah, he called Ten the “best artist” despite the fact that he’s already worked with others in kpop and that Ten is not big enough to attract people who just want more popularity based on association. So now, forgive me if I wonder how someone who did well enough (3rd) in metrics for months, with positive critical reception and with dance community support, somehow vanished from the final nominations list. What’s this really about This isn’t really about one artist “deserving more.” It’s about how Ten, who happens to be a non-Korean soloists inside a big company (SM) is treated when it comes to visibility, credit, and recognition. Ten is arguably the most versatile performers in the industry — blending technique, expression, and artistry and even with The Kraze (not PR stuff) recently calling him “Chameleon of Kpop” — yet he’s repeatedly sidelined in contexts where his work objectively fits the criteria. It’s not even about winning Honestly, I don’t expect Ten to win against GD or J-Hope — that’s national-scale fame. But at the very least, a nomination would’ve perhaps allowed him to perform solo on that stage and show exactly what he brings to K-pop as an artist. That’s only what many of his fans can afford to hope for because we are not delulus and even though in our hearts Stunner is the real SOTY and Ten’s the best male solo artist of the year. I have been a supporting some kpop artists since 2nd gen and I don’t think Koreans are awful but it’s just frustrating to me how they only reward me as a fan when I support Korean artists but when I support a Thai kpop soloist, they will make it feel so ridiculous because it’s like they are never gonna let him shine as much as he should cuz he’s not one of them. And yes, being non-korean is the only thing he doesn’t have compared to all the five nominees. submitted by /u/Intelligent-Ad9582 [link] [comments]
I got downvoted to hell for saying this before because people couldn't admit an idol they like did something bad. An idol doing one bad thing does not make them a bad person, however, many idols did indeed do a bad thing at the W Korea event. If a celebrity attends a charity/fundraising event for a serious cause, there is an expectation that the celebrity contributes to the event in some capacity. Otherwise, they are just showing up to an event that was made for a very serious cause just to party and network... and that is rude. This is not a hate post or judging idols as a whole. It is ok to admit when an idol messes up. Also props to the idols who attended and did actually try to spread awareness! submitted by /u/SnooOranges829 [link] [comments]
