9. What do you mean He used open AI to work on Kpop Demon Hunters?

  • 2 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Would it really have been that tedious for him to get a human co-writer instead of leaning on a machine built to put creatives like him out of the industry? Like does the team know? Probably since He feels like publicly announcing this aint a big deal. If this was allowed to slide what other aspects of the film were made with AI gen without us knowing? submitted by /u/Able-Web-7019 [link] [comments]

12. Taemin performing at Coachella is a huge surprise

  • 2 hours ago schedule

It’s been 17 years since his debut, 11 years since his solo debut. He is one of the most legendary Kpop soloists of all time and we all know he’s more than capable of giving us a top tier Coachella set, however Taemin… Is not signed to any American record label Never promoted in the US either as a soloist or in SHINee Never released a song in English Isn’t affiliated with any American concert promoters Being invited to Coachella as a 2nd generation soloist with no western promos when his FIRST world tour only took place this year is insane. I’m so proud of him and so excited to see him getting the exposure he deserves. It goes to show that pure talent and dedication can take you so, so far. As a long time Shawol I didn’t even think of the possibility of this happening but he never fails to amaze me! submitted by /u/MyOrgel [link] [comments]

16. Kpop is consuming my life and I need help

  • 3 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Hi all, Hopefully this is okay to post, but I needed to get this out and I don’t have a great outlet in my personal life for this type of discussion. For reference, I’m a 29 year old female. About a year ago, I got into kdramas when I started going through some scary health stuff. They helped me calm down and provided an escape from the reality of my chronic pain/health conditions. Kdramas eventually became a gateway into kpop for me, and I instantly became obsessed (I tend to go all-in on anything I enjoy). My days became consumed by watching content from my favorite groups since then. In the moment, I always feel good and ‘’connected’’ to my favorite idols, but when I really sit with myself, I feel empty. My life revolves so much around kpop now that I don’t have any real interest in doing other things. Even when I am out with my partner or my friends and I try my best to engage fully with them, I still find my mind wandering to kpop and daydream about my favorite groups. I want to be able to engage with kpop in a healthy way because it really does add joy to my life, especially as someone who suffers with chronic health conditions, but I just don’t know how to do it without becoming totally consumed and then feeling like all other aspects of my life are empty. I never expected myself to be such a hardcore fangirl at 29. I do have a therapist that I discussed this with, but she is super anti-kpop and doesn’t really understand how one can become so attached to their favorite groups/idols. She encourages me to keep finding comfort in my kpop ‘’hobby”, but to bring myself back to reality as often as possible (much easier said than done!). Has anyone else gone through something similar and managed to develop a healthier relationship with kpop? Thank you in advance!! submitted by /u/Dawn__818 [link] [comments]

22. Fuck it, I’m bored! Make a Kpop girl group: 90s and 2000s edition. Start with main vocalist 👇

  • 4 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Can include soloists and group members whether they’re still currently active or not. Only rule is they have to have debuted between 1990 and 2009. I noticed a lot of these mostly end up with 3rd, 4th, and 5th gen idols making the cuts, so I wanted to start one for 1st and 2nd gens for those of us who were into Kpop earlier on! I know not all comments can show up for everyone, so instead of relying on upvotes, just comment whoever you think should get the spot and I’ll count them manually. You can nominate multiple idols. If they go by multiple names, I would prefer you mention them all so I don’t accidentally count the same idol as separate people. submitted by /u/nipplequeefs [link] [comments]

23. Most kpop glossaries stop at basics. What if we had a real, always updated slang dictionary?

  • 4 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

So for a side project I made a small website that worked like a kpop term dictionary and to my surprise people really liked it. Ever since I’ve been thinking maybe I should actually brainstorm it properly and turn it into a real product. Not to make money or anything but I just have this weird OCDish urge where collecting scattered info online into one neat place makes me feel oddly at peace. I know r/kpop already has a glossary (shoutout to this one), but that is mostly the basics. What I want to build is closer to a real dictionary: up to date with the latest slang and with synonyms. For example, take the word 감다살 (gamdasal). It literally comes from “감 다 살았네,” meaning "phew, the persimmon remained whole", but people actually use it when something turns out way better than expected. In idol fandoms you see comments like 감다살 when performance, photo or stage blows fans away. A synonym for it would be 느좋 (neujoht), an abbreviation formed by taking the first syllables of “느낌 좋다,” which basically means “it feels good.” If a photo came out super aesthetic, fans might just comment 느좋 While building my prototype dictionary, I realized how many kpop slang terms I didnt even know myself. It made me wonder if all native korean fans automatically know these or if some terms are more niche. And sure translations exist in english but we all know a straight translation, even the AI often miss the nuances. To really get it, you need to know why the word was created and how it is actually used. That is why I think gathering everything into one properly maintained dictionary could actually be meaningful. Of course I’m not the first to think of this. I have seen some glossaries people made before but most of them stopped getting updated at some point. My plan would be different. I would crawl data and update on a monthly basis so it always stays fresh. But here is where I hesitate: would fans really use it? When exactly would it be useful for the community? Personally, I would love it since I am learning Korean and it is a fun way to memorize words but it only matters if there is actual demand beyond just a few. So if I built a fully fleshed out kpop slang dictionary, would it get traction? Or is this one of those things fans think is cool in theory but do not actually use? 25. Weird Comments in Madein’s Tiktok Videos

  • 4 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I am not sure why, but when I was watching Madein tiktok videos to check how they are all doing. I noticed something strange, in every beginning comment of their tiktok videos, you can see these weird comment with the same replies. I don’t know it weirded me out, considering their situation right now with that suspicious company. I uploaded some screenshots here but comments like “not the end”, “more of her?” with replies like “what hot content”. Scared me tf out. Really worried about them. There seems to be a hidden message in those comments or something. Such a wasted group and potential. If they will not manage them properly, then maybe they shouldn’t have pulled out Yeshiro from Kep1 and the limelight members to continue what they have already started as a group. submitted by /u/theredjb [link] [comments]
