Honorable mentions go out to Day6, Lim Young-Woong, Shinee, BtoB, Red Velvet, and Apink. Rules: You will have approximately 24 hours to vote. I'd prefer it if you mention one artist per comment and that the artist in question had a "silent fanbase" during their peak. The table of far: Row 1: BTS, Loona, Dreamcatcher Row 2: IVE, STAYC, KARD Row 3: IU submitted by /u/VigilMuck [link] [comments]

I'm a huge SM fan and survival show enjoyer, so recently I've been keeping with both SMTR25 and Boys II Planet (including the ex-Trainee A participants). It's always upsetting when someone talented doesn't debut but there's one person in particular who kind of haunts me: Ji Hansol. Hansol was in all of the SMROOKIES content and showcases before NCT's debut, including BASSBOT and the famous dance practice video and Switch. He was the trainee that stood out the most to me for his dance style (like in Hide & Freak). For whatever reason (some speculate it's the China hallyu ban), they never put him a unit. And then he left SM. And then he was in NewKidd, which did not do well. And then I saw him in The Unit, and he made the debut group, but the group didn't do well. Now I think he's teaching dance classes here and there in Australia. I don't want to be dramatic but it was kind of traumatizing for me because I was so heavily invested in his debut and literally everyone else became NCT, a gigantic multi-unit group. It's not like they didn't have room. I haven't forgotten about him in the last 10 years. As I've gotten older, I realized that being an idol is a job like any other job, i.e. something people need to make a living. I really like watching survival shows because there's so much talent, but recently I'm just like... feeling upset in general. Clearly the ex-Trainee A members, for example, are doing well, and debut groups get switched around or cancelled all the time. But I just found out Minjae from LASTART (the one who hit the crazy high note at 4:01) joined an off-the-wall project called UNNAME, and the company likely is not going to be able to debut him... I understand why he didn't make lineup for WISH (he was a little stiff), but he is obviously a great vocalist and I'm scared for him. And then of all the SMROOKIES girls, only Ningning made it into a group. Not to mention other examples like Day6's Junhyeok, who I've seen in two survival shows since his departure, neither of which he did particularly well at. I know it's reality that not everyone makes it in the entertainment industry, but seeing someone almost make it and then not (or make it and then fall off), is really hard. Sometimes they never recover. And even when they join a successful project, the lifespan of most idol groups is so short, and most entertainment companies absolutely suck at extending the longevity of the group's careers. Idk help yall I'm depressed. At least Sangwon and probably Leo will make it... I really anticipate the group from SMTR25 but there are 14 of them and not sure all of them are gonna make it 😭 submitted by /u/hnlu78 [link] [comments]
Me is SEVENTEEN <3 The first time I saw them perform was by chance - "HOT". I was just watching random stages and their energy immediately caught my eye. Their moves were so sharp and perfectly in sync but at the same time they looked like they were genuinely enjoying every second on stage. It did not feel forced it felt natural and full of teamwork From that moment I knew I had to look more into them And the more I watched the more I appreciated how much effort they put into every performance They have this unique mix of precision and joy that makes their dancing really stand out What about you? Which group made you feel that way from the first time you saw them? submitted by /u/Impressive_Fan6968 [link] [comments]

Tell me, which song do you think represents each generation so far? That song that was iconic (even if you don't like it), the one that automatically comes to mind when you think of each generation and even influenced the music of other groups. You can only name one song: One by a GGs and one by a BGs. submitted by /u/Someonehihi [link] [comments]
Cheers you up: Makes you cry: Workout song: Gets you angry: Makes you feel nostalgic: Girl boss/badass song: Makes you feel like you’re in a movie: Breakup song: Could listen to on repeat for 8 hrs: Makes you wanna dance/party: Makes you swoon/heart flutter: A personally meaningful song: A song that grew on you: A disliked/unpopular song that you enjoy: Silly/unserious song that’s still a banger: Yes this song is popular but not the least bit overrated: Song you could fall asleep to: Song you’d set as your ringtone: submitted by /u/Lilac-Soul [link] [comments]
Sorry if this is not the right way to ask this question, but why is Pentagon the header for this sub right now? Usually the header is about like a current comeback or something. I love pentagon so if they are currently doing something I would love to know and am surprised to have not heard about it lol submitted by /u/ShinyFlower19 [link] [comments]
Someone said that they all don’t look their age but imo I think they do. Martin looks like one of the guys I’d see in my Canadian high school he has that jacket and shorts cult look. I feel like they all look like teens since I’m one my self. And I don’t really trust people to guess ages because when I was 14 I asked a lady how old she thought I was and she said early 20s. From someone who is older sure they might look mature but they act and look very 16 yr old to me. I also never get what people expect teens to look like. 18 and 20 ain’t that far so like what could possibly be so different? Cause y’all will see someone who is in high school and be like « oh you look so much older » but not everyone is short or baby faced. And not everyone dresses the way think they should. submitted by /u/Royal_Land_7344 [link] [comments]
One group that comes to my mind and I'm a HUNDRED PERCENT sure they won't survive is madein, with the boycott they are receiving and literally the members looking miserable they will not survive, the only reason why they are holding on is because the only source of support they have is from jfans which is unfortunate, they should not receive any support with what the CEO did to gaeun and now apparently 3 members are now on hiatus including yeseo. Anyways boycott 143 save the members. submitted by /u/hearts4him_ [link] [comments]
The title is actually a comment I saw on tiktok, and it got me thinking. Both marketed as an “uncensored” “raw” group of teens/young adults just making music. I do think bighit’s group more accurately fulfills that role considering how in Cortis’s case, it’s not just marketing and the members are actually involved in their production. I honestly appreciate that about cortis quite a bit. I’m excited for them as a group of artists. I’m a person that believes art can come from people of any age. When I say this I think of Olivia Rodrigo, and how Sour is a great album abt the teenage experience that thruthfully only a teen could have produced. So, with that in mind, I’m excited to see what themes and sounds will come from them moving forward. Lastly, I don’t think this event will escape the collective kpop memory , so I bring it up, but with how riize turned out when their kfans discovered a member actually was a teen, I sincerely hope cortis’ management is willing to stand behind their group and the image they have chosen unlike what happened with sm. What do y’all think? submitted by /u/Sellingoldkpopstuff [link] [comments]

It honestly took me some time to finally put this into words, but I feel like I’ve started to slowly drift away from Stray Kids. I wasn’t there from the very beginning since I only became a fan during Levanter era, but they really meant a lot to me. You can even see it on my profile how much I adore them, half of my room was even dedicated to them. It’s just that lately, I find myself not connecting with their newer music the way I used to. When God’s Menu came out, I was still a fairly new STAY, but I could already tell it was something special. I remember how excited we all were seeing it get so much love, not just from STAYs but also from casual K-pop fans. After that, they gave us two more incredible comebacks with Back Door and Thunderous, which further cemented their step out of nugudom for good and everyone was looking forward on whatelse are they going to serve given their versatility. However, instead of getting versatility, it rather started to feel like their title track choices leaned more toward recreating the same powerful vibe that made God’s Menu such a hit. It has always been the same formula, intense beats with choruses that felt more like drops than lyrics. Of course, there may be exceptions like Case143, but since then, the setup has always been quite similar, which was a little disappointing considering how much I admired their versatility before. To be fair, they still show that side of themselves through B-sides and solo releases, but I always thought it would’ve been even more meaningful to highlight that versatility on their title tracks. Their constant chase towards the magic of God’s Menu over and over, totally lost me. I really did try to hold on even through S-Class, but with their recent comeback, Ceremony, I think that’s when I realized I was truly letting go. Like what you mean you’re only giving me 5 words in total for chorus, repeat it a few times and then call it a day? I just hope they can reciprocate whatever they’re doing with their japanese releases because their recent JP comebacks have been way better than whatever their doing with their KR comebacks lately. I know this might come across the wrong way, but please believe me when I say I’m not a hater. I truly admire how talented 3RACHA are, and a part of me still hopes they’ll surprise me again someday. But for now, I think this is where I quietly step back as their music no longer resonates with me. submitted by /u/Time_Engineering5337 [link] [comments]
