I saw an old college acquaintance post about going to a lot of tour dates (4+) for their fave kpop group. All the best VIP and none from resale. Said they got it all from ticketing and they literally got amazing queues for all shows. So you're wondering how is this possible, isn't it random? Definitely not. Even from my own experience, in my friend group I have two people who always get the best queues and they buy lots of tickets for concerts and sports games from Ticketmaster. It's speculated online that the Ticketmaster algorithm favors old accounts and ones with lots of purchase history. I've had a friend who tried ticketing for multiple shows of a tour and their queues were all literally 400-700. While my queues were all consistently 5000-8000. If it was truly random, you wouldn't get the same queues for so many dates of a tour. Here's some examples of a content creator who goes to so many kpop concerts and most of his queues from this year: J-Hope - 639 Blackpink - 998 ATEEZ - 52 Enhypen - 176 Jin - 1467 STAYC - 134, 111 Katseye - 788 TXT - 802 LE SSERAFIM - 282, 524 To be clear, he doesn't always have amazing queues. He did have bad ones for GD. But in general, he has very good ones. So are we going to argue that this is truly random? Or does his purchase history play a role. Even Chinese fans have talked about "nurturing" Ticketmaster accounts by going to more events and this will help you get better queues. Another point is getting similar queues across multiple shows. This girl was ticketing for TXT and she tried for multiple dates at once and they all sucked. She had around 6000-8000 for four shows at once. Is this truly really "random" to get similar queues for all these shows? If there's anything to take away: Strong chance lots of purchase history helps you get better queues in general. Sucks if you don't go to many events. Seems like TM could give you a similar queue for multiple tour stops and this can be amazing or awful. This is a way that many people get amazing VIP for multiple stops without doing resale. As the system gave them good queues for many stops. I do think there is some random/luck factor that TM adds, but clearly there seems to be some trends that can't be coincidences. submitted by /u/blueberryicecream88 [link] [comments]

I've been following Kpop closely for several years now and have mostly been more than grateful for the overflowing content, music and variety. However, fastforward to 2025, consuming Kpop content, it not necessarily makes me feel better or happy or emotional anymore. In the current Kpop environment everything seems to have been fine-tuned, from variety show scripts, monopolizing attempts, disbanding or shelving mid groups to make way for the S-class groups to compete at the top. On another note, we've suddenly been taking involuntary legal classes from youtube channels because of all the court cases at the artist and executive levels. It seems, the Big 3-4, have really just been creating more chaos than music. Which leads to the main point of Kpop- the music. It's gotten a bit... subpar? Repetitive, predictable, fueled by trend and clout? It all sounds similar, is getting very predictable, and instead of being relatable or enjoyable, songs now exist extremely ambitious marketing intentions. In conclusion, it boils down to the everything becoming a formula all across the board. The same alcohol talk, MBTI, PPL, song promotion, dance challenge, staff interaction, snacks, food, and beauty/beauty products etc. It's just so... predictable and underwhelming. I don't know what I'm expecting but I just don't get the same vibes as before for the reasons stated and it feel like it's at a plateau... will it get better or worse from here... Honestly, the only genuinely positive thing I can recall this year to come out of Kpop 2025 was ... Fromis9 win? submitted by /u/giggity2 [link] [comments]

Kpop concert tickets continue to get more expensive, with merch/VIP/etc adding to it if that’s your thing. Then the vast majority of us who don’t have tours routinely visiting our local city have to travel via public transport/driving/flying. Flying requires flight costs, lodging costs, and the associated incremental effort. It adds up. So I’m curious, how many Kpop groups/artists would you specifically fly just to see them perform? For me, it’s about 7 currently. I have/will have flown for 4 groups so far (and would again for any of them) and 3 others that I haven’t seen in concert yet. And that number would be materially higher if they toured locally (a few have, but not many). submitted by /u/itzymidzy19 [link] [comments]
(I’m sorry for any spelling/grammar errors. It’s midnight and I wanted to right this super quickly) When it comes to family members of kpop idols, I have noticed this weird parasocial relationship that some fans have with certain idols’ relatives. A huge (and probably the most prominent) example of this is with Bangchan of straykids. I have noticed how weird stays are with bangchan’s parents and his younger sister. All 3 have social media accounts and their comments are always filled with stays saying “[family members name] stans, are we ok?” or other basic npc comments usually found in the comment section of a kpop group. I find this so extremely weird. “Stanning” an idols’ family member just gives obsessed fan behavior. Bangchan’s mum posted a video where you could hear chan’s voice in the background and people were flipping out in the comments saying “omg is that bangchan!?” Or “did I hear bangchan’s voice!” They were acting like it was some foreign thing that he was hanging out with his parents… Hannah, bangchan’s sister, also releases music (she actually was the one that got me into skz, so I am especially passionate about this issue) and I cannot WAIT to see the day that her comment section is free of stays quoting old, cringy skz memes or making everything that she does somehow about her brother. There is this clip from like 2023 of Bangchan and Felix saying “Hannah what are you doing?” at one of their concerts and EVERY SINGLE video that Hannah posts has at least 20+ comments of stays saying “HANNAH WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!” with some random photo of Bangchan or another straykids member. It doesn’t matter if she’s promoting her music, lip syncing to an audio, or just talking. There’s always those comments. There was another video where she was promoting her album and the colours pink and green happened to be in the video. Some stays proceeded to have the audacity to comment “omg minsung 🩷💚” and there were so many of these comments that Hannah had to start responding to them. I legit wanted to throw my phone across the room when I witnessed that. It makes me so frustrated because Hannah works so hard, and she is never able to have that sense of individuality. 90% of her comments are all users with a skz-related pfp. I absolutely understand if you like her music (because it’s amazing and everyone should go stream ‘Sweet Satin Boy’) but please don’t reference straykids when you are interacting with her page unless the video is literally about straykids. It just takes away from all of her hard work and accomplishments by putting her in her brother’s shadow. I feel like this also can be applied to many other idols who have siblings that aren’t private info. Yechan from 82 major and bahiyyih also struggle with this. They are both hardworking idols but are constantly just referred to as “keeho’s brother” or “huening Kai’s sister” and, once again, it takes away from their own achievements and sense of individuality because they are constantly tied to their siblings. Anyways! Thanks for reading lmao. submitted by /u/hxunjin [link] [comments]
Did anyone else totally forget this case was still in court? YG actually got sentenced to 6 months in prison, suspended for 1 year, for threatening the informant who reported B.I’s drug case.
