When I became a kpop fan in early 4th gen (2019) a lot of people complained too many girl groups follow the girl crush concept and sound to the point where the music sounds homogeneous and everyone's afraid to bring something new to the table. For years, people also complained 4th gen has quite weal vocalists, with most groups being dance focused and pushing vocals to the side. There were also many discussions about lack of talent in 4th gen compared to 3rd gen, with a lot of people saying they lack in every category except dance. Vocals, rap, stage presence, etc. The general consensus was that 4th gen simply doesn't feel as good as 3rd gen. Since it was my gen,I heavily disagreed with most of these and found the 4th generation to be the best. Now that I belong in the previous gen's stans I catch myself thinking 4th generation hit better than the new 5th generation groups. But then I realized there's a new kpop fan out there thinking exactly what I was thinking about my generation, but for 5th gen. Plus,I've seen these exact complaints repackaged for 5th gen. And if you take a dive back, you'll notice them for 3rd gen too. My point is that it's natural for older kpop fans to find their generation to be better but that doesn't make the next one lacking. It all comes down to personal preference. Every generation has talenter groups and groups that aren't afraid to shake the waters and bring something new submitted by /u/Alive-Pitch-9180 [link] [comments]

It honestly blow my mind how easy is for stalkers to get private informations about BTS members, especially Jimin and Jungkook. From flight detail to hotel locationto even secluded vacation spots. This is NOT normal behavior, and it shouldn't be excused just because they're famous. What’s even more upsetting is BigHit’s apparent lack of adequate protection. For one of the biggest music labels in the world, they seem incredibly careless when it come to safeguarding their artist's privacy. You will think after all these years, they'd have tighter security protocols, but no, sasaengs still manage to tail the boys with disgusting precision. And let’s talk about the so called “shippers.” I have no issue with fans imagining cute scenario or writing fics that’s harmless. But when you start defending leaked, stalker taken videos just because it fits your fantasy of “Jikook” or whatever pairing you’re obsessed with, then you’re part of the problem. You're romanticizing harassment. You're normalizing the idea that idols private moments are fan service. This isn’t just "celebrity culture." This is dangerous. This is violating. This is people choosing delusion over decency. Let them breathe. Let them live. Let them disappear from the public eye when they want to. If you truly love and respect these men, then stop supporting content that is obtained through stalking, and call out those who do. submitted by /u/Lune_Clear [link] [comments]

So, in most songs, the title is repeated several to countless times in the lyrics. There also are songs that don't say the title at all in it, or only in Korean. But I'm searching for songs that include the (English) title EXACTLY ONCE in the song, and I need y'all's help making a collection as complete as possible. And I'm also interested in where in each song the title appears. I got inspired by a post on r/weirdspotifyplaylists, but the songs there were sadly not may music taste or I didn't know them at all. I didn't find a post about K-pop songs with that property so I'm now asking here. I did manage to find: Abracadabra by Brown Eyed Girls (one key line relatively at the end) Answer by Ateez (in an adlib early in the song) I will put all valid answers in this Spotify playlist :) submitted by /u/liatism [link] [comments]
Through following K-pop over the past four years, I've become convinced that an idol's beauty determines their success, especially in groups debuting from small and medium-sized companies. It doesn't matter how talented an idol is in dancing or singing. If an idol doesn't meet K-pop's beauty standards, then nothing else matters. Even if K-pop fans pretend not to care about looks, they don't actually care about idols who lack visuals. Knetz, in particular, only support beautiful idols. A simple example is SWAN from Purple Kiss. Despite her immense singing talent, no one cares about her, especially the group's Knetz. This is unlike the other members of the group, who are treated differently by fans. A beautiful idol = has a much greater chance of success than idols who have less beauty even without any talent, submitted by /u/Extension-Site-9197 [link] [comments]
