The first group I was introduced to was BTS, and that was my first (and for a while, only) ult group. Five years later I have many ult groups and Iβm doing the teaching. Iβve been getting my friends into Xikers, it feels like a torch was passed (or Iβm returning the favor since they taught me some as well). π₯Ή submitted by /u/CeCeAlexus [link] [comments]

I do admit i have been very out of the loop with kpop, but i went to all 3 days of kcon as press and was happy to dicover new songs and stages i would of never seen - which i find is always the best part of these festivals. I knew most of the big names like monsta x and zb1 but the artist I was most excited to see was Key, Cravity, Nmixx and Aespa. The groups is didn't know shocked me and had stages i really enjoy. It felt like the rookies had something to prove. I really like Baby Don't Cry, never even heard of them before this and man im really addicted to F Girl (https://youtu.be/KEUlytSqlsU?si=85QHBG4zltj9qTGn) I know the songs are very tiktok / Olivia Rodrigo but tbh when those songs hit WHAT CAN I SAY I LIKE EM plus they were very cute. I also really enjoyed NOWZ stage, Everglow is reallly good (https://youtu.be/U-o6bmvH7R4?si=jfj0I_5xsC6fqDfa) and I think I already have a bias and its Yoon. I will say i also got into songs by just walking around, I discovered Say My Name (https://youtu.be/XceS5vnJvUg?si=0T_9tP2AEh6WxGBw) and maybe in was living under a rock but they make good songs π. Just might have found my 5th? 6th? Gen girl group lol. submitted by /u/starsformylove [link] [comments]

I want to start by saying that I am a HUGE fan of aespa and they are my favorite female kpop group. I just have a question. I noticed that sometimes their pronunciation of certain English words can be wrong at times which obviously makes sense because Giselle is their only English speaker but thats where my question comes in. Having a native speaker, how come she doesn't teach her group members proper pronunciation for words if their translator isn't doing their job right? For example. I LOVE their newest song Dirty Work its so dope but I noticed some pronunciation mistakes. I don't expect it to be perfect obviously but I noticed the simplest of mistakes that could have easily been corrected by either their translator or Giselle to just make it 100%. In Dirty Work when Ningning says "Sharp Teeth" she says "Sherp Teeth" and then Karina pronounces it "Sharp Tith" which is expected of people who don't know the language but I think either the translator or Giselle could have easily been like "hey its pronounced this way" and nothing would have sounded off in the entire song. Instead Giselle goes and obviously pronounces everything perfectly in all of her songs while her group members are struggling with very minor pronunciation that can be easily corrected if just shown by someone like her. I don't know I just feel like if I was a native english speaker like Giselle, I would guide my members to help make them sound as best as possible in their music/performances instead of watching them make a very simple mistake and let them make studio recordings and music videos that way knowing that I could have helped them correct these minor mistakes in a quick moment. Its literally a word its not like Giselle would have to tutor or go out of her way at all really to just correct this. I would be eternally grateful if I was her group members and she was able to help me correct simple pronunciation mistakes that would make me sound more legit you know? So what are your thoughts on this? Do the translators suck or do group members in kpop groups that are fluent in English like Giselle just dont help their other members? submitted by /u/DrillSword [link] [comments]

this isnβt hate to ANYONE at all, and i will preface by saying THERE ARE MANY IDOLS THAT KNOW HOW TO SING!!!!!! iβm not claiming to be a professional but i do have a grade 8 in singing which is the grade under a uni diploma so i do know what iβm talking about. i just wonder how much these companies rlly focus on good vocal technique. iβve noticed a few things about singing in kpop members of groups that usually debut with βbadβ vocals donβt tend to rlly get better and remain quite static in survival shows thereβs a lot of emphasis on dancing which is great but we rarely ever see them get vocal lessons (individual ones) and i often notice when the judges/coaches do give advice itβs never in-depth and always superficial (eg ur tone is off but never something like you need to lower your larynx) this is a genuinel question Iβm just wondering if itβs a cultural difference. another point I want to make is in an illit teen vouge video I noticed that the two options were dance rehearsal or studio recording but not vocal lessons so do idols get vocal r lessons after debut ? submitted by /u/Aggravating-Start921 [link] [comments]
βββββββββββββββββ Hey everyone, an hour ago I watched the movie K-pop Demon Hunters, which has been popular on Netflix and all over the internet. I decided to do a special Beyond the Album where I break down all the orginal songs from the movie and see what I think about them. I usually donβt review soundtracks, but Iβve gotten a few people requesting me to review it so I decided to give it a try. Now, letβs jump into the Demon Hunters' world and see what music they delivered. βββββββββββββββββ https://preview.redd.it/4tpb28v8q0hf1.jpg?width=2048&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7f99873dbedb332550a7805b73887c22610bed7e KPop Demon Hunters (Soundtrack from the Netflix Film) 2. How Itβs Done - HUNTR/X, EJAE, AUDREY NUNA, REI AMI & KPop Demon Hunters Cast From the first few seconds on the track, I get Everglow or Blackpink vibes, which made me curious about the direction this tune would go. The vocals from the members fit with the overall vibe the producer goes for. The rapping is decent as it works with the overall vibe and flow, but itβs not my overall favorite thing. The hook hits a little too hard, catching me off guard at first. I donβt hate the rapping, but could see some idol rappers doing the rap better. I think the more I listen to the track the more it will grow on me, but Iβm surprised how much I liked this one. https://preview.redd.it/91veyojbq0hf1.jpg?width=1500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=db93f6d6a4eaa21d5a3e9b2edada94403cc2337d βββββββββ βββββββ Soda Pop - Saja Boys, Andrew Choi, Neckwav, Danny Chung, Kevin Woo, samUIL Lee & KPop Demon Hunters Cast Soda Pop sounds like some AI created some 2017 Kpop, but I still enjoy 2017 Kpop, just not this track. The instrumental has a thumping vibe that does work with the members, but I find it to generic for my taste. It sounds like this song is delivering to many Kpop BG tropes for an upbeat summer tune. The hook is pretty uninteresting as the instrumental goes even more generic in that section. The rapping is decent, adding to the overall vibe, but halfway through the song, I already want it to be over. https://preview.redd.it/qhar6cddq0hf1.jpg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=74294afac86394c6ae6c787b27485ece7043c94a βββββββββ βββββββ 4. Golden - HUNTR/X, EJAE, AUDREY NUNA, REI AMI & KPop Demon Hunters Cast Golden is the most popular song on the album and one Iβve been seeing all over the place with all the covers that keep popping up on my feeds. It did get annoying at first hearing this track all over the place, but once I checked it out, I changed my mind. Golden definitely screams an IVE track, and Iβm not mad about it. The smooth vocals fit wonderfully with the overall vibe the producers crafted. still surprised Teddy is one of the producers on this track, as it sounds way better then what he normally makes for blackpink. We do get a David Guetta remix that gives this tune a 2010s EDM feeling, which pulled me right in. https://preview.redd.it/jq1odhueq0hf1.jpg?width=1000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=290b1c54110fed0d2acee3c8a47a1f9862d5bfde βββββββββ βββββββ Takedown - HUNTR/X, EJAE, AUDREY NUNA, REI AMI & KPop Demon Hunters Cast Takedown another track that has been growing in popularity thanks to Twice. Itβs weird hearing the movie version of the track as Iβve heard the twice version way too many times. I love the hook as it fits the vibe of the song wonderfully. Jeongyoung, Jihyo, and Chaeyoung bring this charisma to the table that makes the movie version sound a little weaker. As someone who is a big fan of Twice, I went into the movie version of takedown with an open mind, hoping to like that version, but came out of it wanting to hear the Twice version more cause it felt stronger than what the movie delivered. One thing I think is that the movie doesnβt have the Jhiyo high note that makes the Twice version way stronger. https://preview.redd.it/wcmt93ggq0hf1.jpg?width=1024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e73dc06bf2f4bcac94859a48494389d29f4ca047 βββββββββ βββββββ Your Idol - Saja Boys, Andrew Choi, Neckwav, Danny Chung, Kevin Woo, samUIL Lee & KPop Demon Hunters Cast Your Idol goes for a Dark vibe that weβve heard so many BGs in Kpop done before. I hear a bit of ATEEZ or The Boyz in moments of this tune. The hook isnβt bad, but it does sound a little weak at times. The rapping wasnβt that bad, but couldβve been stronger. The choir vocals in the background add to the overall vibe, but still donβt elevate the tune much. The instrumental is also giving me Mama by EXO vibes. At least Saja Boys made a way better track then the AI generated Soda Pop. https://preview.redd.it/c025y7shq0hf1.jpg?width=1692&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a65a8203931f2b68fa784b32081853cde5c031b3 βββββββββ βββββββ Free - Rumi, JINU, EJAE, Andrew Choi & KPop Demon Hunters Cast Now we get a ballad on the album, one that is underwhelming at best. The instrumental feels so empty that it dosenβt back up the voclists that are trying their brest to bring emotion to the table. The hook is another empty section that I donβt enjoy at all. I donβt think Free is a bad song, but it just needs to be more interesting cause the lyrics are packed with emotion, but he song pulls everything down into this dull direction. https://preview.redd.it/njmcsrqjq0hf1.jpg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8838dacb04d6e90914616ea5e039dc6b6ee9a561 βββββββββ βββββββ 8. What it Sounds Like - HUNTR/X, EJAE, AUDREY NUNA, REI AMI & KPop Demon Hunters Cast The final original song on the album with synths that open up the trsck with these acpella sounding vocals. You can hear the emotion from the singers that deliver some smooth vocals. The drop is pretty underwhelming after we got some decent enough verses. I do like the performace the members put on as they work well with the beat that couldβve delivered more f a punch. I still find this tune to be a little generic for my liking, but maybe this tune will grow on me if it ever does. https://preview.redd.it/3e2slh4lq0hf1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b9dc11b86c03bd91d8a2567e8b8d16a8b060cce7 βββββββββββββββββ Summary: Now that Iβve seen the popular K-pop Demon Hunters and listened to the soundtrack, what do I think of it? I find the soundtrack to be decent, but it features a lot of K-pop tropes and generic instrumentation that donβt click with me at all. Golden is the one original that Iβve been enjoying besides the Twice version of Touchdown. Soda Pop still sounds like AI created. generic 2017 Kpop song that couldβve been trendy at the time. Free is one tune I tried to like cause I liked the emotion in the vocals and lyrics, but the instrumental felt lifeless to me and didnβt fit the track that much. I can see why this soundtrack is popular, but for me it dosenβt do much outside of only two tracks. I donβt think Iβll be returning to this album at all besides twiceβs version on Touchdown and Golden. βββββββββββββββββ https://preview.redd.it/zf9btg5or0hf1.jpg?width=500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0b6efc3b06936ae753ca98360ed20e2f4349067a submitted by /u/Maltifandom23 [link] [comments]

Iznaβs golden cover in kcon wasnβt good in my opinion. The song was too high and it showed in the performance. They didnβt sing live (I didnβt wait them to sing it live). Notes where lowered so much that it didnβt sound nice. Choosinh koko and jeemin to cover it was not good idea. Atleast take the best vocalist to perform it. Some fans called it the real huntrix but it was not justice for the song. It was nice to see it perform by real kpop idols. I love see idols perform these songs but izna just hit it. This is no hate izna members I love them to bits but it was not good or just okay. submitted by /u/chloelivinginamoment [link] [comments]
