In case anyone hasn't heard, Jiyoon has officially left izna. This might be surprisingly news for some but as someone who watched the groups survival show (ILAND-2) I was fully expecting this to happen even though I love her. Why? Because during the show Jiyoon was clearly struggling both mentally and physically with the workload of trainee life (which is understandable) so I figured it was only a matter of time until idol life got to her post-debut. Wakeone is probably kicking themselves over it because they completely ignored all the obvious signs and pushed her incredibly hard in the edit anyways, making her one of the shows main characters and practically guaranteeing her debut. They also put all their eggs into the Jungeun/Jiyoon vocal duo basket and pushed aside all the other main/lead vocal candidates which obviously backfired because now Jungeun's the only strong vocalist left in the group. I can't help but wonder how differently they would've approached the edit of their show in hindsight. To end on a positive, thankfully izna does still work well as a 6-piece thanks to Sarang stepping up as a secondary vocalist. Hopefully fans will start to show her a bit more grace when it comes to line distributions as she's likely the groups official lead vocal now. So 여왕의 기사 (Overcome) is one of my favorite songs by NU'EST. So I went back to rewatch the mv only to find that the captions were on, making me realize that I never read the lyrics of the song. After I did it put into context the choreo, especially the bridge (like I showed above). For anyone who hadn't looked it up :여왕의 기사" translates to "queen's knight " (my Korean classes, duolingo and ability to pick up on context clues let me figure this out without a translator so I'm very happy about that minor accomplishment lol). But it made me feel so slow lol. In the bridge they're acting out a knight holding their sword, then swinging it in a downward slash. The thing is, only certain parts of this mv directly tie in with the title of the song, so I'm not thinking Knights because I don't see stuff like armor or royal wear.
