1.112. visual stans tend to be so much meaner and I don't get it.

this has been on my mind for quite some time so i wanted to here othet peoples thoughts. I'm not going to name any specific idols because I don't want anyone to come for them for their fandoms behaviour. but there was this one idol I had been a fan of for years, originally because I heard there voice in a song and I always liked there voice.Later on this idol had a huge glow-up and people started obsessing over this idols looks. Since then this idols fan-base became cultish and rude any small critisism against this idol is seen as "jealousy" "bitter" "insecure" one time I pointed out if the idol was okay because they looked sleepy, the comments attacked me saying "you're mad their prettier" "you are jealous" "still perfect" like okay.... recently a tragedy happened and I called out on why the idol didn't say anything or make a post considering they hosted the event that somewhat led to it. this fandom once again talked about looks for there arguments and got really nasty. tbh I don't care if they commended the victims or not but the fandom is just.... and recently a young person passed and when I wondered why this idol didn't make a simple condolences separate post people said "because they are a professional/ perfect idol/ too parasocial / won't break image for this" and its like damn. holding an idol to a high standard based of looks really turned me away from the fandom as a whole. it does not feel empowering to Stan an idol when the whole fandome makes it look like being attractive is the only way to success. Once again this idol is part of my ultimate group and I collect there photocards but the solo stans there I just couldn't deal with that. seemed insensitive. submitted by /u/winniecore [link] [comments]

1.113. 🏳️‍🌈 SOLAR'S NEW SONG and 3/4 Mamamoo members have made a lesbian (or lesbian-coded) solo MV!!!!! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈

First, in 2019, we had Wheein's song Goodbye which had a music video portraying a lesbian break-up. Absolutely heart-wrenching song. I love how she sang the lower, melancholy notes raspier before breaking through with her clear high notes in the chorus. The shots between Wheein and her lover really makes a viewer wonder what could've been. Then, we had Moonbyul's song Shutdown which was undeniably, explicitly, about lesbian sex. I love the duality between the comforts and sensuality of love that the song explores. The way the MV had such warm, golden lighting which enhanced the feeling of home and belonging that love brings. Yet the song wasn't afraid to be completely, wholly about sapphic sex. And not to mention, Moonbyul's entire album contained songs showing a lesbian relationship from start to end! Now, Hwasa hasn't released any original sapphic MV's yet, but she's done covers of a few sapphic songs, like Billie Eillish's lunch. Perhaps a MV will come out one day, but us queer fans still love our iconic queen Hwasa nonetheless!! Her song Maria has been personally helpful for me to come to terms with my own emotions and loving my own queer-ness. Finally, we have Solar, who released her song "Colors" this year, which was about ballroom culture and featured dancers from a Korean House! Before Le Sserafim came out with their song, Crazy, later in the year, Solar was one of the first major artists to feature LGBTQ+ dancers like this. AND!!!!! Today, she released a new music video: Single 'Floating Free' (With. 9m88). This depicts what appears to be a long-distance lesbian relationship with the two meeting up. Of course, some might interpret this as a friendship (that's perfectly fine too! no interpretation of art should be "wrong") but in my opinion, that's some pretty strong romantic tension and long, lingering stares for two besties. And it's coincidentally perfectly timed for Pride Month, wow would you look at that. Of course, Mamamoo as a group have always been ground-breaking in representing LGBTQ+ culture and people from very early one. For example, in 2016, they performed with Pinky Cheeks, a genderfluid dance group, for their MMA stage. They invited 2 drag queens to be in their HIP music video. They support the RainbowMooMoo's (MooMoo is the name of the Mamamoo fandom), which is the first queer k-pop community formed in 2017. Completely started by fans, this group fundraises money for queer projects like Seoul Pride. Mamamoo have also publicly supported many LGBTQ+ efforts and people, such as performing for Lezhin Live when the Lezhin Comic company was being attacked by the public for supporting LGBTQ+ artists. 1.117. Why do the akgaes have a love/hate relationship with their favs?

  • 1 week ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

i saw tbz post thing below if their fans sick of them... why not they just unstan. like most the stuff i saw in the post they frustrated of their favs and expose them and i thought theyd leave, but they still supporting. its confusing me. i saw the controversy stuff. and a k person told me its mainly dating related. then recent news about some smoking/drinking. and its mainly the same dudes. then one of the dudes got airpods thing and then 2nd gen actress commented about how she he needs to be scolded from the 5 sec video. i think he cancelled in korea now cuz she big there and has more power. and his allegation comments of sketch stuff he wrote as a kid came out to prove he got a bad attitude but its been out there floating for years. old staff etc defended him for the airpods thing. and then he apologized a couple times but never addressed this so its confusing. as a fan its confusing and this thing reminded me of the bp n word thing when they were younger. did they apologize? nope. why? cuz it would bring more attention to the topic. why do ppl support them still? cuz they believe they grew and changed. but theres no way to prove it ig. do i wish they apologized? yes, but it would make things worst. i get why fans mad. but some their fans crazy like sunwoo get jumped by saesang at his dorm, beaten and sent to hospital. etc. as a fan all this mess confuses me. cuz i can see where fans coming from and where the dudes coming from. it feels like they deserve each other. they dont got much international stans so i rlly only see hate ig. but i was just wondering this ig. im sorry for sounding a bit crazy by the way and if none of them made sense. if someone could explain why, it would help me. submitted by /u/Major-Specialist3658 [link] [comments]

1.118. Why do bgs not big4 make it big internationally/domestically no more?

  • 1 week ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I looked at Melon most followed 4/5th gen bgs are all were from the big 4. Internationally, the last boy group to really blow up was Ateez. I wouldn't count zb1 just cuz survival is big worldwide and its equivalent to big4 kinda cuz theres a starting fanbase. Im just curious what bgs can do to make it big/catch ppls attention? I recently noticed to most just doing the fresh boy (like tws, riize, zb1 - they are very bright ig)... do we think some variety/diversity could help the market then? What are ur guys thoughts? submitted by /u/Major-Specialist3658 [link] [comments]

they're a super interesting group to me! cool concept talented members great songs badass choreo. their first single sold 20k in korea and their debut has 5M streams on spotify alone which for a group from a no-name company is really good. i think especially once they get enough notoriety to be offered touring contracts they're gonna do super well!!! i also just love wumuti anything he touch is gold submitted by /u/Beneficial-Ad-8253 [link] [comments]

1.130. Advice needed for someone who is more interested in kpop thanks to the kpop demon hunters movie coming soon

  • 1 week ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I am a big animation nerd and movies with the style similar to spiderverse or turning red get my attention easily. Enter the upcoming kpop demon hunters. Animation so great but with something I usually found annoying. Yeah im not the biggest fan of kpop myself, or so I thought. With the trailer having the main girls music in it, it actually got me moving a bit. What I would like some help with is finding a kpop band with a similar style as the girls from the movie. I understand this is definitely harder since we only have trailers but if there are any good recommendations please I would love to hear something new that isnt video game soundtracks, 80's rock, or techno. submitted by /u/Ardemin5 [link] [comments]
