Hey folks! Over in r/kpop we just posted a new special Town Hall that is focused only on the Flairs we use to help organize our posts based on content categories. Link to r/kpop's 'All About Flairs' Town Hall We included announcements for new flairs here on r/kpoppers and also on r/kpophelp. The following is the section relevant for this subreddit. NEW FLAIRS! Connect - This flair will be used for anything where fans are trying to socially connect with each other. Announcing new K-Pop subreddits or Discords, looking for mutual fans on social media, wanting to meet up at a concert, seeking fans in a region to form a dance group, networking for a fan project, announcing a K-Pop night at a club, etc. Research - Academic surveys related to K-Pop or fandom topics. We'll keep an eye on these new flairs to see if they create any confusion or need adjustments. Let us know if you have any thoughts, concerns, or questions! submitted by /u/alleybetwixt [link] [comments]
Am I a part of the fandom if I'm just listening to the group's music but not keeping up with what's going on in the group's commerical performance or stan culture stuff? For example, I'm a great fan of BLACKPINK's music and their solo works. I have a playlist dedicated to them. But I'm not sure if I should call myself a blink, because I don't keep up with their interviews, appearances, awards, etc. since comments under any such post are either piles of glaze or floods of hate. A similar thing with BTS and SKZ in my case. I don't keep up with ENHYPEN's variety content because their 'dark romance' lore is completely a nope for me. But I LOVE their songs like moonstruck, Brought the heat back, XO, Sweet Venom, etc. So I'm not sure I am to be considered an ENGENE either. As a matter of thought, It kinda amazes me when people use fandoms like armys, blinks, stays, engenes, MYs, etc. as a reason to dislike or not listening to the group. Cuz I understand that you might not be a deep rooted stan of the group because the behaviour of fellow stans doesn't sit well with you so you don't want to engage with the variety content that the group puts out, but saying that you can't tolerate a group's music because their fandom is childish sounds so....illogical? submitted by /u/Commercial-Many-1407 [link] [comments]

honestly? he totally deserves it! and this is without even touring latin america or europe! he was limited to arena shows in many cities, yet he easily sold out all his stadium shows, multiple times. i honestly think he should've had a full stadium tour, and i really need him to visit latin america, please submitted by /u/meowwmoww [link] [comments]
I’m looking for an online kpop store that does lucky draws with the albums specifically ILLIT because there’s so many i couldn’t join gos for, i see people hosting some now for the jellyous lucky draw, but i can’t find a store based in the US that’s doing it but she did (no i can’t ask her her following is too big) I’m not looking for a specific lucky draw, just a store that does exclusives/pobs for illit that aren’t apple music 😭 PLEASE HELP A GIRL OUT💔 submitted by /u/salsaslay [link] [comments]
Show me your current mood with an emoji, and I’ll recommend a K-pop song that I think matches it! submitted by /u/Proper_Ant_384 [link] [comments]
Yeah i know im late but better be late than never. Everything about this song is perfect from the beat and the vocal delivery is top tier. I actually prefer this song than the title track thunder submitted by /u/Chemical_Mobile_6613 [link] [comments]
I am not hating on Cortis. What do I have to hate on? They've only been a group for, like, a month? Their music is also fun to listen to. A long, long time ago—over 6 months aho, someone once said something very insightful to me. Do you want to know what they said to me? They had said the only reason why K-pop seems— or seemed—unique is because it's late to trends. Everyday I realize how absolutely correct they were. I'm not going to get into the whole K-pop and westernization debacle because I believe the answer is very obvious(you can infer my stance just from the title itself) but I will mention the so called westernization of K-pop because it will be relevant.....I think. So on August 11th, Cortis released a song named "GO!" And everyone was like this is so good (rightfully so) Some even said they were novel and unique. Some said the song was just a copy of 2010s hip pop music. I understand both sides but I agree with the latter. GO! Sounds exactly like something that'd be popular 9-6 years ago. Maybe they were going for that nostalgic feel but I would be lying if I said that GO! didn't sound like something Playboi Carti release back in his rookie days. This isn't a negative but my argument isn't that Cortis is bad; my argument is that Cortis isn't doing anything revolutionary. I feel like some K-pop stans only listen to K-pop, which isn't a bad thing but it does limit you( the same goes for only listening to one specific genre), so that's why they think Cortis is unique. Maybe they are unique but I feel like that only applies to K-pop. Their style of music isn't really the rage right now (I could be wrong, I'm only an occasional hip-pop listener) so maybe they are truly unique. Maybe that's their mojo, making nostalgic music. submitted by /u/gocatchyourcalm [link] [comments]

I see several media platforms and people hating on Hybe. Sites like koreaboo especially have a beef with them for some reason. I think it intensified during NJ drama but honestly do you think Hybe is that bad? Let's not count BTS because they are kinda special case and probably have much more privileges then other groups for obvious reasons. Every big K-pop company had several dramas and has been accused of many things so I truly don't understand why people especially want to slam Hybe right now. I'm not any company Stan simply because I see all of them as kinda equally shady and equally good. You will find great and not so good people in all of them. Running a company when probably few hundred/thousand people work and everyone will be good is impossible. Especially those in power only look at numbers and stats to satisfy shareholders and themselves. What makes Hybe worse then others? Do they really treat idols aside from BTS worse then any big or small K-pop company? submitted by /u/TruthApprehensive304 [link] [comments]
