I wanted to write this rant because Taemin is my ult and the behavior of kpop fans towards him this past week really pissed me off so here it goes. The way these kpop fans have been mocking and hating on Taemin for the past week reminded me how shallow this industry is. He is an incredibly hard working and talented idol. If you are not very familiar with him, he debuted from a very young age and has worked really hard to build a legacy both as a soloist and as a SHINee member. He has been active as an idol for 17 years. Now, I know that his music is not everyone’s cup of tea. Some people even have a dislike for him, I’m aware of that. But the amount of hate and mockery he got since last weekend? He hasn’t done anything to deserve it. Yes, he altered his appearance and not everyone has to like the change but that doesn’t give you the right to say horrible things about him. He might be an idol but he is a person with feelings just like you and me. Imagine seeing how there are posts with 50k likes and 100k views making fun of how you look. He might be a strong person but it gets to a point. And like I said at the beginning of the post, this just shows how shallow and heartless most kpop fans are. A ton of people that never talked about his talent or music before are now making posts about his looks. These people are just helping make this industry as toxic as it already is. Hope no other idol has to go through this train of hate because of how they look. Please stream WwinkK. The songs are ACTUALLY good (even if the members aren’t real 😭) There’s a new virtual K-pop group called WwinkK, similar to MAVE or K/DA, and I know that might sound like a gimmick at first. But the music? Genuinely good. Not “good for a virtual group,” just solid K-pop. They’re super nugu right now with barely any streams or exposure, which is a shame because the production quality is impressive and the songs are really catchy. If you're into polished, Y2K-inspired pop with a slightly futuristic vibe, give them a chance. “Sugar Virus” and “LEFT N RIGHT” are easily their best tracks. I know I'm getting bashed maybe but I'm ready for it Recently I've comparing others fandoms and carats and realised that carats simply don't put as much effort as other fandoms when it comes to defending members streaming their songs and voting etc...in other fandoms antis don't stand a chance to hate while here the self righteous ones they mostly ignore it They are invisible when it comes to voting and streaming some carats literally have to beg to vote. I just came across this clip while I was scrolling shorts. She's singing Golden from K-Pop Demon Hunters and my goodness, she freaking nailed it. As you can tell, it's obviously 100% raw recorded from a phone without a mic (props to her because all the covers I've seen were very post-processed). What an incredible range this girl has. She's reaching up there with a mix voice with higher chest ratio which makes it all the more impressive. And the way her pronunciation stays crystal clear even at those high notes? Chef’s kiss. Anyone who’s ever sung before knows how hard that is to pull off. I haven't seen much covers of this song from idols, which is totally fair. The Soda Pop dance challenge seems to be the go-to thing for most idols right now instead. Golden is an immensely difficult song and borderline impossible to sing well unless you're gifted with a range to even attempt it in the first place. Which brings me to this. I haven't seen much discussion around Lily here and I feel like she's at the upper echelon of top vocalists in the entirety of Kpop and might be the best one of the recent 4th & 5th gen. There are plenty of belters in Kpop, but not many have Lily’s range while staying as consistent and technically solid as she does. Her technique is rock solid, her pitch accuracy, and vocal agility are no joke. She's the perfect example of what happens when natural talent and hard work come together. I'm kinda having a hard time in understanding that how a 12 year old group and 9 year old group is suddenly having snark subs? Like shouldn't they have started and ended around 2018-2020? Afaik these year were the times when both groups went through extreme hate trains and also the most prominent years of k-pop so Idk how snark subs are appearing in 2025? Is it because reddit as a platform became mainstream? And also why can't fans just take over these subs?
