They're are feminist until it's other female idols
Blinks are the loudest when it comes to calling other fandoms misogynistic or toxic, but they’re the biggest hypocrites out there. They bash anyone who doesn’t stan BLACKPINK like it’s a crime. Pathetic behavior over a girl group, seriously. submitted by /u/No-University-7215 [link] [comments]

4.362. I think it's so sweet when people's biases become a part of them

(pic unrelated btw) Maybe their favourite colour became your favourite. Maybe you wear an accessory that they always wear. Maybe you take up a new special interest because of them. Maybe you look up to their effort so you work harder because they inspire you. Maybe you try to be more patient because they set an example of it for you. Parts of you are made of the people that you love. And it's so sweet to see people showing what they admire in people they love So don't try hide it, be brave and keep wearing those bracelets that remind you of the person you look up to or admire. Don't worry. It's cool. submitted by /u/Worried-Ad-7727 [link] [comments]

4.363. I'm currently working on a website where you can rate and keep up with your favourite artists!

  • 1 month ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

The main reason why I'm working on this, is cause it's really hard to keep up with new releases, especially if they all drop things at the same time. So when you add an artist to your profile, you'll always see when they release something new. The rating part is just for fun, but I'm thinking about developing a tool than can generate pictures with album reviews, similar to the ones people like to post, especially on TikTok. It's still in it's early phase and it will take some time until I can let other people use it, but I wanted to share this so I can see if other people like it or have ideas on what to add. Technically it's not limited to Kpop rn, but I want to focus more on it and maybe add some Kpop specific features in the future. submitted by /u/K-drip [link] [comments]

4.365. honestly speaking, who thought that Big Hit (now HYBE) didn't exist before BTS ?

  • 1 month ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I'm NOT judging, I'm doing some research for a video, which about "what would have been HYBE without BTS". I know Big Hit was sucessful in Korea with groups like 2AM, Glam or Eight and artists like K.Will and Le Hyun even before BTS debuted, but outside of Asia, i believe it's BTS that made them famous. So I'm curious if some people thought that Big Hit didn't even exist before BTS debuted. (for the story telling you know) Once again I'm not judging or making fun, i won't even quote a name in my video, I'm just curious and I think it was the best place to ask. So let me know !! submitted by /u/ma___noya [link] [comments]

4.366. Maybe I am just sensitive, but is it just me or does the term ''Purple whales'' a term used by anti's to describe ARMYS, seem really misogynistic?

  • 1 month ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

The purple part of the term makes sense as purple is the fandom colour, but the WHALE part.. If you didn't know, the word ''whale'' can be used as an insult to body-shame people and call them fat, and body shaming women, especially a GROUP full of women can be seen as misogynistic. Maybe I am just really sensitive. submitted by /u/Ilovehuskies1111 [link] [comments]

4.368. Being a girl group stan does NOT automatically make you a ''feminist'' nor does it mean that you know what issues women face daily!

  • 1 month ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

(THIS DOESN'T IMPLY TO EVERY GIRL GROUP STAN!!) I have seen so many girl group stans, specifically male, always talking about being a feminist just because they stan women. Being a feminist is MUCH more than being into female groups. Being a feminist means speaking up about their issues they face daily, being a feminist means to not hate on other women.. most girl group stans do the complete opposite despsite calling themselves a ''feminist''. The amount of times I have seen Girl group stans hate on other female idols that they don't like (and even wishing R@PE upon them), body-shaming and age-shaming female fans and female idols etc.. THAT is not feminism, but instead Incel behaviour. I also hate how they are ALWAYS blaming women for making problematic men popular, acting as if we knew that they are who they are behind the screens. (For example, S3ungr1 and Jaeil) I also hate how they tend to overshadow female stans when it comes to feminism and the issues women face. They (Most gg stans) DO NOT actually care about feminism or the issues women face -- They only pretend to care because they stan girls. submitted by /u/Ilovehuskies1111 [link] [comments]

4.369. Which SHINee solo discography is your favorite?

  • 1 month ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I’ll be biased and choose Jonghyun since his albums are mostly no skips for me. She Is, Base and Story Op 2 are three of my favorite albums of all time, and he gets extra points for producing and writing most of the song on his own (and doing a phenomenal job at that). Onew and Taemin are battling for the #2 spot - I’d normally choose Taemin but Onew’s recent albums are too good. Key has some great songs as well and I love his creativity, and Minho has less releases but his recent album really exceeded my expectations. View Poll submitted by /u/MyOrgel [link] [comments]

Am I being too negative for thinking this? I'm so happy they renewed, but a part of me fears getting too attached, only for it to end suddenly and cause heartbreak. They've been a huge part of my life, and I want them to always be there. I'm just scared.🥹 submitted by /u/soleyedi [link] [comments]

4.376. Something I’ve noticed with GG stans in K-pop spaces.

  • 1 month ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Whenever there’s a fanwar between two girl groups and, there’s the usual two for one special of misogynistic and slutshaming comments, the gay male stans are always accused of being responsible. Now, I won’t deny that I’ve seen some gay male K-pop stans doing and saying the absolute vilest things about the girls but, putting it on them whenever it happens is just a way of trying to avoid accountability by the female stans because they’re just as bad or even worse sometimes. Whenever a post is made calling out GG stans for being nasty towards other girl groups, the comments are always “it’s the gay male stans” and it kinda stinks of homophobia to me. It’s like the female stans have found the perfect scapegoat to blame shit on while they continue to shit on their fellow women without being called out, and it’s just so weird to watch as a female fan of some GGs. submitted by /u/Reel-Trouble34 [link] [comments]

4.380. Hot Take: SM’s line distribution isn’t always about racism, sometimes it’s just vocal skill

  • 1 month ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I often see fans accusing SM of being racist toward their non-Korean idols when line distribution feels unfair. And while I do think SM has had issues with how they manage foreign members, I don’t think line distribution is always one of them. Take EXO’s “MAMA” for example. Fans were upset that Chen got so many lines in the Chinese version, despite being Korean with weaker pronunciation. But let’s be real, who else in EXO-M had the technical vocal ability to pull off those challenging parts? Chen was the best fit. This shows that SM prioritizes vocal skill, not nationality. Most of Chen's lines are just holding notes anyway. Another example, NCT Dream’s “Chewing Gum.” Chenle and Renjun, both Chinese, got a solid amount of lines. Mark, a Canadian, also had a major presence. Why? Because all three were vocally or rap-wise stronger than the other members at the time. Yes I knew Haechan exist. People love to excuse Mark’s treatment by saying “he’s still Korean,” but then what about Johnny? He’s Korean-American too and didn’t get the same opportunities early on. So clearly it’s not about ethnicity, but individual skill. Mark’s just really good at what he does. So no, SM isn’t always fair. But not every uneven line distribution is proof of racism. Sometimes, it’s just the harsh truth of who can deliver what a song demands. submitted by /u/Personal_Damage6616 [link] [comments]
