1.051. This might be rude but why Japanese idols particularly usually weaker vocalist than Korean in kpop?

  • 1 week ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Why is it that every Japanese idols in kpop is weak in vocal compare to Korean?? Well I think Chinese are weak too but Japanese idols are much worse. Can someone enlighten me? Maybe because the great ones in Japan and China don't want to go to kpop? Or Korean just have much better vocalist overall? Like, every kpop groups that have Chinese or Japanese, their main vocalist or top 1 would be Korean. For example: - EXO: Chen, D.O, Baek - Twice: Nayeon, Jihyo - Svt: Seungkwan, DK - NCT 127: Doyoung, Jaehyun - NCT Dream: Haechan - NCT Wish: Jaehee - Gidle: Miyeon Like, Exo-M used to exist, made of bunch of Chinese members yet their best vocalist is Chen, a Korean. NCT Wish is Japanese unit filled with Japanese members yet their best vocalist is Jaehee, a Korean. What's even more interesting is during NCT Lastart, there's 3 best vocalists among the trainees. Yet in a room full of Japanese, those 3 best vocalists are all Koreans. Maybe I don't know any kpop group with their main vocalist or top 1 vocalist is Japanese. I have seen few Chinese of top 1 but never Japanese. submitted by /u/Personal_Damage6616 [link] [comments]

I just learned that ILY:1 are disbanding from this and it's so unfortunate to see another smaller group disbanding like this. I wasn't really a stan but I was a casual listener and they had such a beautiful discography. It's such a shame to see them go but I hope the members have a nice future submitted by /u/baldism [link] [comments]

1.053. The Min Yoongi Autism Treatment Centre will work using controversial ABA (behavioural) therapy

  • 1 week ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I saw a lot of people praising him for the donation and his will to help is amazing but I also saw many post falsely explaining how the centre will operate and making it seem like it's just a happy, fun music therapy. If anyone actually read the articles they would learn that unfortunately the centre is supposed to work "expanding on" outdated and by many considered as harmful behavioural therapies. Those therapies (called also ABA) focus on pretty much training children with Autism to suppress Autism specific behaviour like stimming and behave like their neurotypical peers, because of the belief that it will make their (and everyone's around them) life easier. In reality those therapies often lead to a lot of frustration and many mental health problems, there are studies showing they can cause PTSD and other types of trauma in children, even when parents see what they consider great results. So while it sounds great on the surface the centre planning to introduce music to a known harmful therapy regiment and writing guides on how to do it (apparently the new approach to this therapy will be made with Yoongi's personal help!) is nothing to celebrate and only sets back Korea's understanding of the ASD. 1.055. Its hard being a stan of a more "unpopular" group

  • 1 week ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Ok so iam not talking about myself right now. I stan NCT and EXO, 2 groups who are very popular and have a massive fanbase. However i know people who stan far more unpopular groups and they always tell me how hard it is for them. They are always worried that the group might disband due to finicial troubles or because the company just gives up on them. Lack of Recognition. Algorithms on Youtube or spotify don't recommend them often, so there growth is slower. Also they don't get invited to award shows or ceremonies. The group has a small budget wich means the quality of music Videos or concept isn't the best. No frequent comebacks Small fandom. You don't find many people to talk with or share you opinion, you quickly get overshadowed by bigger groups and fandoms. Constantly defending your group from rude comparisons or being ignored by media/fans of bigger groups can get exhausting. I know this probably isn't that big of a thing, but i just thought about it. submitted by /u/Injeolmie_04 [link] [comments]

TWICE just surprise dropped snippets of EACH members upcoming tour solo song on their instagram!! This on top of the full 14 song album coming and dont forget about the 8 other projects the girls have released since 2022, along with the several successful solo/subunit projects. These girls just continue to FEED Onces lol How do Blinks deal with the lack of content and new group music, lack of communication, and at this point just blatant disrespect from YG and honestly the BP girls as well? I'll be praying that 1 song comeback of theirs is a mega hit because if it's not, yikessss it won't be pretty lol submitted by /u/tzukani_ [link] [comments]

1.066. What "flatters" a kpop idol and why that thought process can be damaging

  • 1 week ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

It's no secret that there are a ton of questionable styling decisions within kpop. But when it comes to the critiques of how a larger idol is dressed I find that the thought processes behind them can be damaging. I understand wanting to rally against mistreatment, but I genuinely believe that most "larger" idols aren't dressed as poorly as people believe. The critiques I always see are that an outfit makes the idol look "frumpy" or it's not "flattering" enough. I rarely ever see those critiques when it comes to bad outfits that skinnier idols are made to wear. What's "flattering" or not can sometimes be fatphobic in itself. At least the way most people seem to use it. Whenever a larger idol isn't wearing something skintight is when I usually see these kinds of comments. Just because an idol wears an outfit that makes them look bigger, doesn't mean the outfit isn't cute. A flowy shirt might not be the most "flattering" but it can still look good. Rolls being visible from a cinched shirt doesn't automatically make an outfit frumpy. And if a larger idol is dressed modestly it doesn't automatically mean the stylist is ashamed of showing their body. The good intent is there, but I feel like some of these conversations become hurtful when people are trying to discuss it. As a larger woman myself, it's easy to note what kind of outfits people deem unwearable for idols. It's almost always something that makes them appear bigger. Suddenly its not "flattering" enough. No, it just doesn't make them appear as skinny as possible. Why is that a bad thing? Does anyone else feel this way? submitted by /u/Correct_Mix_5163 [link] [comments]
