We're half way through 2025, so let's return to last year for a moment. As the title says, what song from 2024 do you feel people slept on? I'm most looking for hidden gems that seemed to pass everyone's radar without a blip but went straight into your playlist, but if you think a song getting 10 million views should've gotten a 100 million in a fair world, by all means mention that :D Here's my picks: On My Bike by Purple Kiss. The vocals are vocaling, the girls are girling - the views are barely a million?? Shining on you by Wooah. Super cute, airy summer track. Has it really been their last release? Bloom by i-dle. This gem of a song is one of my absolute favourites from i-dle. While it's doing well for a b-side, I wish it got more attention because it's super pretty. submitted by /u/erdgrin [link] [comments]
i feel so suffocated everytime i open ANY app its always katseye katseye katseye. i think the girls are pretty and talented and good for them but their music is so mid and i feel so forced into stanning them? EVERY. SINGLE VIDEO. IS ABOUT THEM. AND THEIR DRAMA. AND NOW APPARENTLY THE GIRLS ARE EXCLUDING MANON AND DANIELA IS HAVING LUNCH WITH NAISHA. I DONT KNOW WHo any of these girls are or what it means but i know alllll this information. and im so stupid i keep falling for it. i scroll after a quick 2 second read. and then it keeps coming again and again. now i understand that this is how algorithms work. but its JUST katseye. i like a lot of food content i like makeup i like other stuff too. i dont even like kpop that much anymore!!!! BUT WHY do i always have to hear about katseye? im sure stanning them is fun, but pushing their content down my throat is only making me avoid them all the more. does anyone else have similar experiences? could be a very large marketing scheme which i've always suspected to be true since the beginning. i'm an adult with a job i want to watch my own interests STOP TRYING TO MAKE KATSEYE HAPPEN INSIDE MY BRAIN. submitted by /u/thepeachtreevillage [link] [comments]

I’m not a once, I’m a multi, and I totally forgot Twice was goin on tour but I’m watchin all of these videos from their tour and OMFG. There’s no way yall be saying certain artists and groups are doing music for the arts when TWICE IS RIGHT THERE AND ACTUALLY DOING MUSIC FOR THE ARTS. You can just tell the members of twice love making music and love performing and just love their jobs and not giving af about numbers (which many artists should because the best artists are the ones who don’t gaf about that) Companies should learn and take a thing or two from Twice because when it comes to tours, making albums and good music, Twice really does take the cake and like I said I’m not a once, but I really do appreciate when artists love the art they’re making and displays that. I’ll never understand their antis because yall are missing out big time. submitted by /u/Oneandonly_potato [link] [comments]

This is something I’ve been thinking about for a while. Of course, hate towards a group can come from many sources—media, company decisions, public perception, etc.—but sometimes fandom behavior also adds fuel to the fire. For example, I’ve often seen people mention how some Bunnies contributed to the growing hate against ILLIT, even if it wasn’t intentional. Similarly, I’m curious to know what other instances you’ve noticed where a fandom’s behavior (whether through fanwars, comparisons, or just general discourse) added to the negativity another group was receiving. submitted by /u/No_Background9179 [link] [comments]
It seems to me that as a group, they didn't have much authenticity. Their concept was retro and Y2K aesthetics with "experiences of adolescence and self-discovery," but ultimately, it wasn't anything new. Their vocals aren't anything special either; their songs are catchy but don't have a relevant message. Everything they did was a commercial for some multinational. I feel like every time I see them, they're throwing promotions for something in my face. People always talk about them as a revolutionary group who've done things other idols haven't, but in the end, it's not like that. I don't hate them or anything. I think they're a good group, but I definitely don't understand the boom they had. submitted by /u/Careless_Career_8467 [link] [comments]

The discussion of who paved the way in kpop has been constant, due to fans of other artists denying a group's impact to kpop and their success. Mainly antis of BTS. Honestly, the only reason I can think of why kpop fans keep trying to downplay BTS is because of toxic armies, that constantly bring up BTS as the reason why xxx group has the success they have, and at the same time, diminish the group's hard work and talent, the main target being hybe groups. With comments like "BTS paved the way for your idol." it's easy to accumulate hate towards the fandom and the group itself, even if it's misdirected. In my opinion, BTS is the main contributor to kpop's current popularity, but other groups, such as Bigbang, SNSD, Twice, etc. all have played vital roles in kpop. It's ironic when you spam comment sections with "BTS paved the way." yet get mad when groups actually walk the way. submitted by /u/Full-Amoeba5171 [link] [comments]

Hello! I'm located in central NJ, I'm looking to learn Kpop choreo with the intention of doing Random Dance Play (someday). I have no idea where to get started. Where do you learn choreography? Are there classes? Do you have any youtube channels you recommend? How do I know what songs are likely to come up? Thank you in advance 🙏 submitted by /u/Illustrious_Hat_9057 [link] [comments]
