When it comes to military service, it’s always the bg stans that suffer. There is always heartbreak and grief whenever it gets announced that a member is off to serve in the military. However, girl group stans don’t need to worry about this and can just keep supporting them forever as I don’t think women are required to serve (more of an optional thing). This post stems from the hate that cortis is getting from their debut. I really enjoyed the album. The raps were well put together and the boys are really talented. But I see a lot of people hating on the boys and calling it copying of Playboy Carti and Travis Scott. Or saying they are copying SKZ. But in reality this album is literally Atlanta/southern trap. That’s what the inspiration is. And from experience kpop fans don’t like rap. For a lot of them kpop is their only source of rap music. And cortis is the closest to that and that’s why they are getting hate. For the first time a group is doing it in a way that isn’t cultural appropriation and they are getting hate for it. considering they literally overtook bts and blackpink, i dont think its something the industry can just ignore. u could argue that it might be a one time thing, but it shows that there’s a potential market for animated, fictional kpop idols. i feel like in today’s digitalised age, where people would exist more online than offline, this possibility isnt even that far of a reach. i can totally see it happening in future. and its not something foreign as well, the Japanese idol mascot miku is well loved internationally. there’s also a whole community and economy built around vtubers, the closest thing to virtual personalities. if companies were to debut virtual kpop idols, not only would that cut a LOT of cost, it could be potentially successful too. ofc, i dont think this is possible any time soon, but i can totally see it becoming true. and honestly ? i dont really like it. something about the world becoming way too digitalised bugs me submitted by /u/Snoo17824 [link] [comments]

Hiiii! Well, Music bank will be not only my first Kpop concert, but concert in general ever! Im very excited for it, but I have some doubts that I cant check on the site Can I give letters to the groups? Like, a staff & it goes to them, or something like that? Like let's be honest, kpop has turned into just fast album drops that bring fast money, there's no denying it. Me myself as a person who has listened to kpop for almost half my life can say that it is pretty disappointing tho. Idols that are overworked, the music not having that much quality (still listening but you get what I mean), it's all a part of today industry that has made its way into the western side. More fans=more sales, more sales=companies become money hungry. But one of the things I have noticed is that most of the songs these days actually don't have a bridge also like being cut to 2 and something minutes, sometimes not feeling like it's full. Sm groups tho are actually still the ones that keep it, the rest is pretty discussible. Maybe I can say in general SM groups have that distinguishable sound and keep putting out music that still has all the key elements that songs contain. But for the rest, especially HYBE, I can say that most are ditching the bridge and it's kind off disappointing because it can elevate the song to a different level, hype up the crowd before the final chorus and etc. I really want to hear others opinions on this. submitted by /u/TemperatureFluffy480 [link] [comments]

After the controversy of Gaeun being SAd by 143 Entertainment's CEO back in 2024, and Suhye being on hiatus since May 2025 (And the company had the audacity to delete her hiatus statement), I’m worried for Yeseo. She literally disappeared for such a long time. The last post on her Instagram was on May 27th of this year, three months ago. Yeseo was recently seen at a birthday cafe with no managers, but with her mother. I think they're erasing her like they did to Gaeun and Suhye. Sit with me for a moment, if you will. So I'm making my way around the house, doing some chores and threw on one of my favourite reactions and let him play as I did this and that and he got onto BTS because of that collab Hobi did with like Pharrell and Don (he's a Don Toliver fan so he listened to it as a Don fan) then ARMY expectedly put him on J-hope and BTS and the rest is history. Now, he had the making of a kpop fan in general because after going through BTS' entire discography (can you imagine?) he started branching out to other groups, and right now I'm listening to him because put on stray kids. Coincidentally enough, everyone he's checked out so far has been an artist I listen to. Anywho, it always bothered me when people said, "I miss old __", especially for BTS. Look, I'm an ARMY, among other things, and not only was BTS the first group I discovered and stanned, they are also who got me into kpop. Granted, I found them at a time that was a transitional period, so I've been a fan long enough to have seen chapter close but mostly loved through chapter two, but even before that, people would say, "I miss the old BTS", "they're not the same after __" era, "they've changed," this and that, and I never understood it because I wholeheartedly believe that they're the same at the core. BTS never were about a specific sound, they've always been about the moment—they talk about whatever period of their life they are in, and even though they've ventured into and explored a lot of other genres, they remain hip-hop at their core, especially the rappers, so while I understand having a preference for a certain sound of theirs, saying they've changed just isn't something i can agree with, so i believe you can understand the hypocrisy i feel with Stray Kids. Stray kids were th second group I ever stanned, so they have a special place in my heart, and I adore the members to bits and wish them nothing but good health and success, but I've drifted away their music and it bothers me. I know you'll say it's natural as taste grows and changes, but idk, it feels different. There's many other groups I got into early on that I don't really listen to much, but the difference is that they were groups I was trying out before I found the sound I liked, stray kids are a group I stuck with for tears, only to drift away more recently ans I've been wondering why, and then I came to somewhat of an epiphany. As stated, I was watching him react to stray kids for the first time and one of the songs he was recommended was double knot and I realised, "wow. I haven't listened to this song in quite a while", and it went stupid because it's a hard track. That's when I realised that your music has a different flavour when you're chasing after something as opposed to when you finally get it. Stray Kids' music, at it's core, is still the same, at least production wise, but since they reached their peak (and keep soaring to even greater heights), it feels like...how do I put this? It feels like there's only so much you can do while at the top, and once you exhaust those options, you kinda start to circle around the same thing. Now, don't start telling telling me about, "they have sentimental songs", sentiment isn't what I'm talking about, it's message overall. Music is subjective of course, so my palate might just not be suited to their newer stuff, and that's okay, but I like to think I can objective enough about music to look for pattern and reason and, I don't know, I just don't. The last album, in my opinion, that truly felt novel was perhaps ODDINARY, maybe even 5 star, though that was the first album that had to grow on me. ATE kinda made its comeback but then...That's not to shade the boys, their music is still good, and they're growing even bigger, gaining even more accolades and recognition and doing crazy on the charts, but the flavour's a bit...different. Now, I'm not trying to start anything, and I'm especially not trying to make this a this vs that kinda thing, I'm genuinely just trying to understand, and would love to hear unbiased insights on this. I'm still a stay, always will be, so I don't wanna hear, "go listen to someone else then", or "then listen to their older stuff", I'm genuinely trying to understand and see what others think about this because i feel like it's a phenomenon almost, and this can be applied to any group, just as i gave BTS as an example. Heck, I've heard before saying TXT peaked at Minisode 2: Thursday's Child, or Enhypen at Dark Blood, or even Ateez at The World EP. Series, it's just a thing that happens with music, and I wanna see if this leans more into subjectivity or has a measure of objective truth to it, so I'd appreciate the insights of non-fans and casual listeners too. submitted by /u/Dark_Night_280 [link] [comments]
