I was looking at the streaming numbers of 4th gen groups and realized that the most streamed song by a 4th gen group this year only has 110 million streams on spotify. Compare it to 2023 or 2024 and you will see a clear difference. Not a single song by a 4th gen group has charted for more than 20 days on global spotify this year, but last year you had multiple 4th gen songs charting for 20+ days and some even charted for more than 50 days. While looking at the streams, I was most surprised by IVE and TXT's numbers. All the singles/title tracks IVE released till I AM has more than 350 million streams on spotify but after I AM, no song managed to reach even 150 million. Baddie, Heya, Rebel heart none of these songs entered global spotify when their previous songs charted pretty high on the chart and spent alot of days there. This surprised me because unlike Itzy after sneakers where casual fans clearly disliked the music, the same didn't happen with IVE. Rebel heart, Heya, Accendio, Attitude are all pretty liked afaik. For TXT, I was surprised that after Deja vu, not a single one of their song charted on global spotify. In 2023, Sugar rush ride literally charted at #38 on global spotify and they charted their entire temptation album there too. After that they slowly started declining but I don't think their music changed much, so why did it happen? In 2023, Stray kids and TXT were pretty equal in popularity, so what did bighit do wrong? submitted by /u/Gloomy-Eye9380 [link] [comments]
