This may seem like a very weird question but I had a friend (friend X) who told me a few days ago that an idol (idol X)I like is dating another idol (idol Y). I won't be revealing names but heres the general gist. Friend X, told me her friend (friend Y) that I don't know showed her a picture on her phone of idol X and idol Y. Friend X didn't tell me if the idols were in a certain type of action but from what she told me, they're dating. Basically, friend Y is borderline saesang. Friend Y is a station head that runs like high quality photos of idols in private and public, either like at airports, flights, restraunts or even like filming sets and neighborhoods. Disclaimer: I don't know friend Y at all so I don't know what level she is at but friend X told me that friend Y spent around 100k usd on these idols (and others). So I don't mind idols dating at all and don't overthink but friend X told me the idols have been dating for two years. If this whole thing is true, that would mean one of the idols would've been a minor (around beginning highschool age) and one would've been around graduating college age if they were dating (yes the age gap is quite big). It also kind of bothers me that one of the idols is literally my age and I would never date someone who has that age gap with me. In conclusion, I want to keep liking and crushing? on idol X but I feel a little conflicted. I've liked the idol for around 5 years now and I've spent a lot on the group that the idol is in. If the two are really dating, I wouldn't really mind that much except for how I would feel a little weird for liking someone who is taken. Any thoughts on this and how I should view this whole situation? The whole thing for me is I don't like how one of the idols is my age and how I feel kind of uncomfortable? for liking the idol (like visualwise + omg x is so hot and cute wise). I have noticed that BTS solo projects have not gotten any major critical attention. Pitchfork didn't even review them. Fantano reacted to a few songs but didn't give them an official review as compared to Lisa's new album which Fantano didn't review himself he had his friend review it giving the album exposure to his audience. AOTY.org is a music review + music record keeping site. A site like this also makes an aggregate of all the reviews different artists and albums have gotten. You have year end lists, mid year lists, best of lists, from various outlets and I noticed that critics rarely pay attention to BTS solo albums like that, barring RM and j-hope who didn't get many official reviews but some mentions in year end lists. Even then they are in best kpop lists a lot of times. My friend, for my birthday a while ago, got me tickets to this group’s concert. Now I have to go to this concert and I lowkey have a dislike for the group even though I literally had a fanpage and everything for them a while ago. I don’t know where the distain came from, it feels out of nowhere. I did have a negative experience at the first concert of theirs I went to, maybe that ruined them for me, I don’t know. I had to fly to it and the whole experience getting to the venue was blegh and I forgot my loops (I hate screaming so I usually bring headphones to block it out). I still interact with the fandom, but their fans are lowkey annoying me more than the group. The fans baby these grown men so much that I can’t interact in the fandom without getting annoyed. I’m not saying the group name for the sake of not offending fans bc I think this is more of a ‘I got bored and trying to listen again has brought annoyance’ situation. Still, I want to be into them again, I know to just ignore fans but I’m gonna have to be in a stadium with them…. TLDR; Genuinely, how can I get back into the group? Should I just wait for the concert and hope it changes my mind? I feel like I’ve genuinely started to dislike members because I’m forcing myself to try to get into them again. I know I going to get alot of down votes today but I really need to let it out. I have been keeping this shit in my head from so long and now it's unbearable..... If you are not liking it just scroll down. Why do some fan ship idols especially their own bandmates??? I mean guys you are literally overa analysis things. If they touch eachother "oh look how secretly they are touching eachother, it's so romantic" if they handshake with eachother "ohh look they are shaking hands for longer period tha. What I don't understand is that I believe that he said he's going to give them solo songs prior to a full group debut. I don't mean solo songs he wants them to have music videos for the solo songs. Idk why but I just find that unusual but at the same time, after seeing Evelli and Chanya I see why he thinks they would be amazing soloists. Another thing is, he decided all the members already so why does he want us to evaluate them, if the lineup is confirmed. I also saw him getting a lot of hate for saying 4 doesn't hold any current significance with many people saying he's shading Blackpink, but can you really blame him? It's obvious that it's the girls that don't want a group comeback, because if they did YG probably would give it considering that their priority is money. 4 doesn't hold significance because after this tour they probably aren't going to have a proper comeback for 4yrs, it's essentially going to be the same as group reunions. Long story form wise LOL… I got into the kpop collecting world (specifically TXT albums and photocards) during the pandemic (2020) through 2022/2023. I recently stopped collecting because I don’t enjoy collecting anymore because I feel like it devalues the meaning of collecting for me personally, like at that point I was just hoarding. I have a instagram b/s/t account, mercari and discord accs that I use. I enjoyed using my instagram trades/sales acc from 2020-2021 because of instagrams old algorithm & the way we can use the hashtags so conviniently (There was a “recent” tab in the hashtags that made it easier to find posts). During those times, I guess there weren’t much fans who were in the b/s/t world so it was easier to find trades&sales as well. Then, I took a break in 2022 and thats when I realized I was just making irresponsible financial decisions. I started selling my txt collection from 2023-2024 here and there. I was able to sell limited edition items like photobooks & membership kits. Now (in 2025) that I’m ready to let go and part ways with some albums, I made instagram, mercari & discord sales posts but it’s not making a lot of exposures (i guess its also a recession indicator & maybe collectors arent as interested with older albums??). I also tag group sales tag accs on instagram to help up my posts. TLDR: With that being said, help a ya girly out please 🙏 which websites are the most successful with sales for albums & pcs. any tips & advices? ps.
