i'm in my mid 20s, i always felt kinda ashamed about still being a kpop fan even after i began my 20s like you really can't find better things to do in your life? but i just realised that it's so much better to like it now like i have money to actually buy and supports my ults, you can go to concerts in other countries if they don't go to your country, you don't care or engage with the fanwars anymore, and so much more but you really start to get the idols like as much as i love some groups sometimes i wish they'd leave the company because this is unfair for them you want the best for them you're just enjoying the music and content in your free time without stressing about keeping up with everything also the fact that it encouraged me to learn the language which is helping with my career and future young kpop fans trying to shame adults for liking it or even non fans making it feel like kpop is for teenagers is just so weird, it's literally music... (i know some adults are so weird about the idols but i meant normal people) submitted by /u/soleyedi [link] [comments]

So I was reading about some spooky stuff in the K-pop world, and I realized a lot of idols have shared creepy experiences that sounds spooky and interesting to me so I thought why not share them with other kpop fans who are also a huge fan of horror like me! I'll share some stories shared by kpop idols themselves on various Variety shows and Talk shows, you can explore about these stories further on internet if you want more details, I hope you'll enjoy reading ~ ● THE HAUNTED STAIRCASE OF OLD JYP BUILDING :- Jo Kwon, the leader of 2AM, once told a story related to JYP's old building that had a famous ghost roaming around the staircase. The spooky story comes down from the first generation of JYP artists who have met this ghost, including Rain. The "Ghost Boy" roams around the stairs of the basement that people have been known to stumble and fall on. In one horrifying incident, Jo Kwon had such a bad fall that Sunmi had to call an ambulance for him. Not only that but there was also a trainee who saw a ghost enter the company building and he was staring at the stairs and giggling. Jo Kwon apparently asked what he's laughing at and he said that he saw a little boy with his leg extended over the edge of the stairs. He also recalled that the location of the old JYP building used to be a cemetery. Once, on a Live, Twice's Nayeon, Jongyeon and Sana also talked about JYP's old building's weird phenomenon, where a lot of people in the company fell on the same place. ● THE YG ENTERTAINMENT GHOST :- In 2016, when BLACKPINK promoted "PLAYING WITH FIRE" and "STAY", Jisoo shared that she had a lot of ghost encounters. She recalled seeing a ghost in YG's practice room and dormitory, and Lisa also confirmed that she had encountered the same ghost as well. Jisoo said one time while she was in the shared walk-in closet (they had a mirror there), she saw a white hand among the clothes. She was dancing in front of the mirror when this happened. She got super scared and ran out of the room. Lisa said she once went to sleep, then heard banging on her wardrobe. She experienced sleep paralysis, then heard something laughing in her ear. When she regained movement, whatever it was, it was gone. She also shared that she went to see a psychic and she told her their closet was haunted and cautioned her to be careful AND the surprising part is this all happened before she had heard about Jisoo’s story about the closet. ● THE SM GHOST IN OVERALLS :- The story of SM's ghost started when Sunny once said in a program around 2012 that SM had a ghost wearing overalls but didn't get too much into it. Later, Johnny and Jaehyun shared that one time Johnny and Taeyong were training in the basement when suddenly, they heard the sound of a water bottle leaking. When they turned around, they saw that the water bottle was closed. And that's when Johnny and Jaehyun said that SM had a long history of rumors that there was a ghost in the basement. It is said that when trainees are being taught new choreographies, they sometimes encounter ghosts. Especially when they are practicing late at night, they hear the sound of walking footsteps even when there's no one there. But it seems that SM's ghost encounters have their advantages, Jaehyun said that if during a rehearsal they see a ghost, the song becomes very successful. ● THE RBW GHOST MINJI :- I'd say the ghost of RBW is really hardworking as the members of both Mamamoo and ONEUS have spotted one before. ONEUS members mentioned that the ghost likes to play with the lights in the bathroom. The ghost frequently referred to as ghost Minji, has been heard in the recording room when the sudden sound of a bang startled everyone. When the producers left the room to investigate where the sound was coming from, they were shocked to find that all the lights had been turned off and all the doors were locked. Ghost Minji was also caught during Mamamoo's Moonbyul and Solar's live as well. When the two were talking, a strange voice suddenly interrupted. Both of them were extremely terrified. Moonbyul even shouted, "Who's there?" But no one answered. Seems like I made it too long to read, but it's really interesting for people who are really into horror stuff...ALSO If you have some spooky stories, share them in the comments, I'd lovee to read them!~🩷 submitted by /u/LunaVixen7 [link] [comments]
How has your fandom spaces changed in the last couple of years? What were jokes, things, or pieces of lore that everyone knew but has now faded to time as new fans join and change things? Some forgotten pieces that nobody really talks about or general things that have shifted! For example: As the TXT fandom grows and shifts with time more and more people are asking why Huening Kai is considered to be a penguin and newer fans typically associate him with a golden retriever more. Likewise, more people are beginning to associate Taehyun with a cat more instead of a squirrel to the point where our largest translation acc has started to use both the squirrel and cat emoji for him. Back in the day nobody would say that Kai isn't a penguin or Taehyun isn't a squirrel so its just interesting to see how times have changed and how things fade. I'm an older fan who grew up listening to BB alot and was going back and listening to old BIGBANG songs and it got me thinking. between Lies and Haru Haru, which one do you think was the bigger hit? Lies basically put them on the map and shifted the sound of K-pop at the time, but Haru Haru feels like one of those songs everyone in Korea (and even outside) knew, whether you were a fan or not. Which one do you remember being bigger back then? Or do you think they were equally impactful in different ways? submitted by /u/savingrace0262 [link] [comments]

Let me start by saying that this doesnt pertain to all fans and that theres also nothing wrong with groups debuting under big companies This comes from me being a fan of a rookie group from a small company btw (< 3yrs in the industry, my fave being their 2nd group out of 2) There seems to be a growing number of fans though that do not recognize or just outright deny that groups, most recently the 5th gen ones, that debut under big or established entertainment agencies already have a leg up over those that arent in the same situation ** in a similar vein, they seem to also be the same ones to throw out words like flop (a quick search could easily deny this, having already achieved things that could be on par with rookies from established companies) and nugu (which they are, but you can quickly infer from the tone of their words that its not about actuality but rather to degrade) ** These days theres so many groups debuting left and right and almost always the ones that still stay in the public eye more than half a year in after their debut are those from big or established companies, while nugu (using this word to describe how these fans seem to think youre either from a well known company or youre nugu, the concept of mid tier companies has left the chat while the actual nugu groups remain unknown to most) groups have to work x times as hard to try and pierce through the chokehold a handful of companies have on the industry ...but then again, fans dont seem to realize that 'big company privilege' exists submitted by /u/Away-Guarantee-7383 [link] [comments]
