What are the wildest takes you’ve ever seen made by Kpop stans?
I’ll go first. I don’t even know where to start with this one. The post above was very recent and it really had me questioning the mentality of some people. Mind you, it’s an account on X with a sizable following and was very much serious about their rant. Even without context, I can’t fathom how this kind of response is ever warranted. I just have to laugh cuz at this rate, idols will not be able to do anything without offending a group of people one way or the other. Makes me wonder how these people are like in real life. submitted by /u/SomewhereOnEarth37 [link] [comments]

625. reveluvs, do you prefer one concept over another or have an ideal ratio when it comes to mixed concepts? (red or velvet, and if mixed then what percentage of each)

When I first got into kpop like over 5 years ago, I favoured the red concept, but as time went by I’ve leaned more towards velvet. I have to say when it comes to mixed concepts, my ideal ratio is roughly 35% red and 65% velvet, like in cosmic and feel my rhythm. I absolutely adore both concepts though, this is just my personal preference. submitted by /u/redlipstick1010 [link] [comments]

Istg I've heard a song like AEAO by Dynamic duo and DJ Premier somewhere before I just can't seem to remember it. I guess it was most probably an ost from 'Happiness'. If anyone else thinks the same way let me know which song you think it was. submitted by /u/Temporary-Owl-3555 [link] [comments]

638. How to address the toxic portions of the K-pop fanbase between an individual and broader perspective.

  • 5 days ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

How do you handle toxic users in K-pop? This came to mind when I happened across a comment that was toxic (the kind where you see it and go "yikes, they really hate them"). Normally, I'd just ignore it and move on with my day but their username caught my eye and sure enough, they are quite active across several popular K-pop subreddits. What was really concerning was that in those communities, their conduct was quite normal and otherwise pleasant. Their account history is someone who seems like a typical fan that contributes to discussions and makes fun comments. But seeing this comment being so different to the rest, I had to check and interestingly enough, their entire history specifically in the toxic subreddit were all hidden away. Not only were their presence prevalent in various K-pop subreddits, they were very active in a hateful community that, in my opinion, should make everyone else question their intentions in the reddit K-pop space, let alone their character as a person. Normally, when I come across obvious trolls or users with blatant bias, I can tune them out since there's no point in trying to discuss with them in good-faith. In a wider scope, I also think that it's best to ignore that stuff (fan-wars, haters, etc.). But what do you do when it's a regular patron who seemingly managed to hide that intensity away? On one hand, ignoring all that nonsense is the best move for one's well-being. On the other hand, doesn't ignoring it all just allow it to spread? It's a weird balancing act since I'm not gonna "confront" or block every hateful person I come across online (who has time for time?) but at the same time, shouldn't unacceptable behavior and rhetoric get shamed? For a broader discussion, how should toxic users like these be dealt with by the surrounding K-pop community? Like how someone who constantly misbehaves in a social context gets ostracized, does a similar mechanism exist amongst K-pop fans? If fan-wars and haters are universally condemned by the rational portion of the K-pop fanbase, should there be some sort of obligation to make such user feel unwelcomed by their behavior? Or, is this just the unfortunate nature of online fandoms in general? submitted by /u/Sooyaa_Yah_Boombayah [link] [comments]

641. What’s a K-pop related habit you had to break (or want to) to make your experience better?

  • 5 days ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

As someone who’s only been in this game for five years, and only has one group I’ve stanned since debut, I always feel behind. In order to not feel like that, I’m working on breaking the habit of keeping track of when I started getting into a group. I’ve been kinda doing that anyway since I usually start stanning a long while after I’ve been a casual listener. The only group I know for sure the exact time I stanned is BTS, everyone else is just a guessing game. 💀 submitted by /u/CeCeAlexus [link] [comments]
