tbh its not just Kpop, and im not a prude nor am some bitter ahjumma, but i honestly feel like everything is being oversexualized esp with female Kpop. yes even taylor - will only wear underwear- swift also gets on my nerves but Kpop its also how YOUNG these artists are. and its done with consent- truly because if the parents managers or the women were truly uncomfortable, they could choose NOT to do it at all. but with women like jennie and lisa leading the way, its only a matter of time that the whole industry does the same. Katseye Le SSerafim etc all of them with barely any clothes on, the dance routines performances everything is only getting more sexual, less clothed, lingerie used as clothes all geared towards Lolita loving ahjussies. it is disgusting submitted by /u/metatus [link] [comments]

My friend is a huge Kpop fan and I’ve been trying to come up with something creative for her birthday. I thought it might be fun to make a spray-paint style fan art on one of her room walls, something inspired by her favorite group or a scene she loves. I’ve never done something like this before but it feels like a cool way to surprise her and make her space feel more personal ❤️ submitted by /u/More_Tradition_8374 [link] [comments]
I see a lot of fans saying they'll be dropping EXO as of late but man I'm still looking forward to the comeback. They're still goated and pretty sure CBX would still want their fans to support EXO's comeback submitted by /u/No-Vehicle1562 [link] [comments]

I just read Lee Soo-man will be allowed to promote his new company, A20 in Korea in Feb.. Considering the connections this man has built over the decades, does anyone think his company will immediately sky rocket? I just read Sunny from Girls Generation/SNSD is a trainer for the company. So, I wonder if more SM idols and staff will leave to A20 once their contracts are up? The fact he'll potentially have idols in China and Korea promoting at the same time will speed up growth. It's not like this man doesn't have experience building a successful company. What does everyone else think? I'm curious. submitted by /u/legendarymethod [link] [comments]
What is Starship doing with KiiKii? Their Debut was well received but after that they haven’t maintained that feat. Songs after I DO ME didn’t do well on charts, nor I see much promotion for them. KiiKii members have unique looks and voices to stand out in this sea of girl groups but starships need to promote them and their songs. If KiiKii fails further then it will be evident that Ive did good cause of Wonyoung and Yujin. submitted by /u/smartrashi [link] [comments]
I’ve always seen people talk about Kpop but never really got into it until this week. I thought I’d just listen to one song to see what the hype was about but now I’ve been watching performances and fan edits for hours. It’s crazy how much detail and creativity go into everything from choreography to styling. I’m starting to understand why fans are so passionate about it. It feels more like an experience than just music ❤️ submitted by /u/More_Tradition_8374 [link] [comments]

Hey everyone, I just started getting into kpop and I keep hearing about so many groups that I don’t even know where to begin. I’ve heard names like BTS, Stray Kids, NewJeans and Ateez a lot but I have no idea what kind of style each group has. If you had to suggest a few songs or performances that could make someone really fall in love with kpop, what would you recommend? I want to see what makes everyone so passionate about it ❤️ submitted by /u/More_Tradition_8374 [link] [comments]

So, I've been a kpop stan for quite some years now and I have been noticing that the music has changed a lot. It really doesn't have to be necessarily bad, but just different. For me, some of the more recent groups and songs had sound kind of artificial or maybe too much empty. But it could be only me! I just miss GOT7, the old EXO and BTS repertory. The R&B vibes, or those cute TWICE songs that didn't feel too comercial (but were). I just feel that it used to have much more groove to it, those were kind of songs that I could listen on a everyday playlist, not force myself to try it. With this I'm really not trying to say that new kpop music is bad! this is just my personal opinion. It's all about taste! What do you think? submitted by /u/Choco_has_8husbands [link] [comments]
With SM's recent statement that Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin are no longer EXO members I think fans needs to actually look at the facts clearly. EXO went from 12 to 6 in 13 years. K, Luhan, and Tao all terminated their contracts with SM and was mandated by court to pay SM until their first contract expires Lay was inactive and established his own agency in China but still pays SM because of his contract until it expired Kyungsoo did not renew and established his own agency but signed with SM for group activities Suho, Chanyeol, and Sehun renewed their contracts with SM Kai was initially approached by MC Mong but declined the offer and still signed with SM Baekhyun, Chen, and Xiumin renewed their contracts but later sued SM which they now lost 6 times. Prior to the renewal, SM released a statement that members of EXO were being approached by MC Mong during their negotiations. This was initially denied but later MC Mong admitted to approaching Kai and Baekhyun. Baekhyun established his own company and signed Chen and Xiumin. CBX still signed with SM for group activities. Later, CBX sued SM for the 5-10% of their earnings that is in their contracts. Apparently, they are obliged to pay SM for the IP for using EXO and their songs under SM. CBX wanted to change this hence the lawsuits. Then, Baekhyun's company became a subsidiary of MC Mong's company which brings us back to the time the alleged poaching was denied. With this, EXO's supposed comebacks and activities were postponed as lawsuits are ongoing. CBX doesn't appear in EXO/SM events although Kyungsoo does attend CBX concerts. Now, the courts have ruled against CBX and agreed with SM that the clause about the IP is legal and binding. CBX are now no longer members of EXO according to SM. To my fellow EXOLs, I know it's hard and painful to accept but we need to look at this logically and not based on our emotions. EXO has been f*cked over by SM since the beginning and we all know that. But, sometimes, it's not always that SM is the ONLY party at fault. Had CBX not signed with SM during the contract renewals and only signed for group activities just like what Kyungsoo did then maybe we won't be here. It was possible for other SM groups as well just look at Onew, Taemin, Wendy, Yeri, and even SJ's D&E. It is possible but this is the sad route that CBX chose to take. We will never know what truly happened behind the scenes during the contract negotiations and the meetings with MC Mong. We may never see them perform as 9 again and if they do it will be years from now. It's unfortunate that this had to happen but we can't do anything but accept it the way it is. submitted by /u/Standard-Pen-3369 [link] [comments]
As we all know, Jennie and Wonyoung are the 3rd and 4th gen it girls. However each of them have extremely successful group members who rival even their own popularity (old Lisa, Rosé now, Yujin). Is this a requirement to become an it girl? I feel like someone like Ahyeon can't become an it girl because there just aren't extremely popular members in her group. I think with boy groups, that Cha Eun Woo might be a case of this? Less well versed on that though. submitted by /u/SpecSlayerSC [link] [comments]
