Long post ahead, PLEASE READ THE WHOLE POST BEFORE YOU GET IN THE COMMENTS, SO WE CAN HAVE CIVIL AND KIND CONVERSATIONS IN THE COMMENTS. I WILL NOT IN ENGAGE IN BAD FAITH ARGUMENTS! I will post my collage as a reply to myself to show you what I mean! I want us all to show our love and fandom for kpop! I want to first say that when BTS was coming out I tried to get into them and i liked a few songs but I could see where the fandom was headed when I was watching the Just one day dance practice and I saw a comment where someone tearing into another fan when they mixed two of the members up, you could read from thier comment that they were trying to memorize faces to voices, but this dingbat went out of thier way to bully them over something not that deep. I just knew that I didn't want to ever be associated with the fandom, when it was a dumpster fire from day one! 😮💨🤧😤 It pisses me off when people say BTS is the standard because let's just be real, thier fame and notoriety makes absolutely no sense when you actually look at them for more then five minutes, and actually look at their merit and talent level. I know way more old and new kpop acts that deserve a piece or all of thier fame, it also jacks me up because I can honestly say that they had potential to be a good group if Bighit actually got them proper training in everything but they have always been half baked, and i always felt like I was being gaslit when people just run up the walls and gush over them and talk about how they are the standard. They maybe the "Standard" but they won't EVER EVER EVER be the PROTOTYPE. The reason why i got into kpop in the first place is because i could see from the beginning that it is a full-blown production/machine, where everything and everyone has to flow together to make the machine work and give the fantasy and whimsy and ummmph to it, and if everyone is not in full to almost full alinement, the fantasy/ machine breaks down. BTS in my opinion have never been a machine, they have the production, budget and team to be a well oiled steady and sturdy machine but alas... When I think of who is putting out art, are true artists and should be the standard when it comes to K-pop, I think of the first exposures I had of it, and who I saw, and who got me to see K-pop as a full-blown genre. Aka My mamas, papas, aphrodites and eroses, they made a lonely girl with self-esteem issues, and no friends life bearable... I mean it, it's not a parasocial party, I just grew up on their music and they raised me with their music to where a good chunk of this list is my life soundtrack so far, and their music made my childhood and current adulthood bearable. They are truly the reason why i still listen to K-pop and I want the absolute best for them and their life, whether they stay a idol or not, and I am willing to square up verbally and defend them if anyone blantly disrespects them and their contributions to the genre. Also, I hear their influence in the new acts i like/ love today, and i hear them and the influences in their music My muses, THEE PROTOTYPE. 🥹😮💨🤧😤🥹 First K-pop song: Nobody by the Wonder Girls - i saw the English version of the mv on my family's computer in 2008/2009? It's hard thinking back to the exact year. First group(s)/solo artist I followed to make sure I didn't miss new releases: the Wonder Girls/ SHINee/F(X) First Kpop song purchased: 2 Different Tears by the Wonder Girls - I got my mom to buy me the song off of Amazon Music for my mp3.🥹 First fave gg(s): The Wonder Girls / F(X) First fave bg: SHINee First fave solo(s): HyunA ( ya know before shit hit the fan)/Gain/ BoA/Sunmi First bias(s): (WG)Yenny, Sunye, Yubin/ SHINee:Onew and Key/ F(X)- Luna and Amber First kpop album(s) I listened to in full: Wonder World by the Wonder Girls/ Hello by SHINee First comebacks after becoming a fan: WG- Wonder World/ F(X)- RPPP/ SHINee- Everybody/ BoA- KMl/ Gain- Hawwah/ Sunmi: 24 hours Turned me out/ Fave Concept/ Was never the same after the first listen: WG- Reboot/ SHINee: Everybody/ The misconceptions series/ F(X)- NU ABO/RPPP/Red light/ 4 Walls/ BoA- KML/Camo/Woman/Better/ Gain-Talk about S(Bloom in particular)/ Fxxk U/ Hawwah/ Sunmi- 24hours/Noir/Tail/Sunburn/Stranger. submitted by /u/Shineepurlsandgems [link] [comments]

Recently korean fans of the gorup Allday Project have spoken out on the entire situation with Tarzan and his braids. In their opinion western fans are overreacting and being too sensitive. I, personally, am on the k-fans' side this time. First of all, Tarzan has in no way been directly hateful, verbally or physically, to black people in any way, shape of form, unlike for example Kiss of Life, who on member Julie's birthday, did the absolute textbook definition of black face - a comedic depiction of black people based around stereotypes with the goal of entertainment off of their backs. My second reasoning is that I know several non-black people in my life who have had dreads or braids done, either for style purposes or because they themselves have very coily hair and the hairstyle is practical to them. And my third reason, and why I'm making this post in the first place, is because I haven't seen a single black person say anything about the situation. Every single person/creator I have seen try to cancel Tarzan has been either white or have not had their race/ethnicity specified. In fact, I have seen several reactions of black content creators to the group's debut song "Famous" and not one of them commented on Tarzan's hair, instead discussing his rap skills. So I ask black k-pop fans in particular: What do you actually think of Tarzan's choice of hairstyle? submitted by /u/NewCookie7308 [link] [comments]
Pretty much what the title says, I got back to back "Black Out"s (CRAXY and 257) and got curious. Mine is "Deja Vu" with 6 (RESCENE, tripleS, ONE PACT, PIXY, NCT DREAM, ATEEZ), closely followed by "Flip/flipp!ng A/That/The Coin" (The KingDom, NEWBEAT, PIXY, Billlie, VICTON) submitted by /u/WhoaShenanigans [link] [comments]

Kinda long explanation but pls bear with me. Skip to the paragraph that begins with "WHAT I THINK HAPPENED" if you only wanna read about the technical problem and not the backstory. In March I went to the London concert with my brand new Moabong v2 in tow (ordered from weverse, so obv not fake). Had a blast regardless, BUT. Halfway through the concert the Moabong "died". I had checked the batteries before leaving for London but I thought maybe I brought half dead ones (and my dumb ass didn't think to bring spares) so I didn't think too much of it and put it in my bag. A bit after I went to grab something else from my bag and realized the moabong was BURNING HOT. Quickly took out the batteries, which were really hot, and thought that I had brought REALLY shitty batteries (the concert was still going so I did all of this real quick cause i didn't wanna miss stuff) and didn't think much of it after that. Once I got home the day after, I put the moabong back into its box (without batteries). I half thought about checking if it worked with new batteries but then thought "what if it's actually broken and I get upset cause it was expensive". And that's the mindset I had through the months every time I thought about it. Hence why I didn't actually check it till a bit ago. When I tried using it again with brand new batteries, it seemed dead again, however I noticed the white light was very weak. I tried changing colors and they all worked perfectly. It seemed like it all worked except for the white. This took place over the span of like... 5 minutes, in which the batteries once again got REALLY hot, so I got scared again and took everything out. WHAT I THINK HAPPENED: I think during the concert something happened to the white light and it blew out/overheated. This malfunction is most likely either what makes the lightstick very hot, or what makes the batteries really hot, making the whole thing unusable even if it's technically not broken. As a last resort, not to fully throw it away since it was expensive, I'd like to maybe try to see if I can change the led/light and see if anything changes? I tried opening both the top and bottom part to access where the lights are but with no success :(( I really wanna fix this but idk how :(( Anyone knows what I could do?? submitted by /u/Expecto-Morghulis [link] [comments]
For a subreddit of people who are so focused on following the law, morals, ethics, and extremely vocal about their thoughts on artists who they think are “greedy” or “comitting crimes” you would think there would be an outcry, especially as so many people here have such vast legal knowledge. Why is this being completely buried? submitted by /u/Terpischora_ [link] [comments]

Lets make a boy group and give some underrated Idols some more visibility, so here are a couple rules to follow :) 1. Only one member per group 2. No members from a Big 3 group, Hybe, or Ateez (I love these groups I just want to see smaller groups get some recognition too!) Please only comment an Idol only once and upvote if you see the one you wanted to say! Please only one member per comment. Please comment member and group they are from. I will make a post around the same time everyday and voting will be open for about 24h. Day 1 our Vocalist! Let's have fun and keep it positive! submitted by /u/MegaGlaceon22 [link] [comments]

Does anyone read fanfics here? Some of the authors posting these fics are writing better literature than bestseller authors rn!! (cough Colleen Hoover cough) I first got into ffs through the Supernatural fandom (wattpad first tho!) And Minsung(Skz Lino + Jisung) is one ship that's consistently in top 20 for a while now. Apart from Minsung, Matz from Ateez are consistently in the top 50-60 for a while now, and Minwon from SVT usually make it to top 100 as well. The source is twt user centeroftheselights who posts the ranking semi-annually and annually! submitted by /u/Thanosspinkdick [link] [comments]
