1.024. Do you think Riize and Seunghan still talk?

  • 1 week ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I was wondering if people think Seunghan and the Riize members still interact. I think they were pretty upset when he left the group so it would kind of make sense if they still would want to see him but I don’t know if they’d want to try and distance themselves now since he’s doing his own thing. I’m just genuinely curious about this since Seunghan is still with SM. I know they obviously can’t be public with any interactions since that’ll stir up lots of “fans.” submitted by /u/FormalCustard2568 [link] [comments]

1.025. Groups with smaller korean fandoms and enlistment

  • 1 week ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I follow a few groups with small k-fandoms who are about to enter enlistment era soon, and it got me thinking. What do you think is possibly the best strategy for these groups when it comes to enlistment? The thing is, some of the groups are generally popular, as in they have a following internationally, but their following locally is quite small, sometimes even almost non-existent. Some's international popularity is limited to the west, while lacking in rest of Asia, others do well in rest of Asia, but lack in the west. But they all have weak presence in SK. What do you think a company's best plan would be in such a scenario? Should they continue trying to invest all their efforts and promotions into the international side still, or should such groups switch focus in the last 2 years before enlistment entirely dedicating themselves to interacting with their Korean fanbase and focus promotions/exposure locally? With the aim to soften the blow of enlistment? And instead work on ensuring kfans' long-term loyalty. Or should companies just research which specific foreign market or country they do best in, and entirely focus their efforts there in the last 1-2 years prior enlistment, with the aim to secure at least one audiance long-term? But then global and international trends are often times even more fast-paced than local ones, with constant new acts emerging, and many people believe international side is more fickle as a result of that. Do you think they should enlist one by one, in units, or all at once? All at once seems nice on paper, but to me that's rather a winning strategy for groups who already have decent-sized and LOYAL korean fanbases. A group that struggles to retain korean fans, disappearing all at once for 2 years doesn't seem like something that will pan out well, neither for the group nor the company itself. Maybe even worse for the company since small companies have to secure investors and it's a pretty nerve-wrecking thing when even the smallest indicents can jeopardize that, let alone whole group just going silent for a few years. Going in units maybe seems like the best possibility? Though going one by one and each doing solo projects could be seen as an even better option by many fans. The issue with going one by one is that the enlistment period gets longer and longer, and if members don't have enough solo brand popularity and influence to maintain the group image, it could just exhaust fans with the long wait and amount to nothing. But it also opens possibilities for members to increase their solo popularity with time, even if it's lacking in the beignning, and maybe even luck out with an opportunity or two. Going in units shortens overall enlistment time and still gives time for promotions, so I guess it's regarded as the best strategy by many fans. One thing is for sure, companies must have great planning skills if they want the group to get back into the game post-discharge and narrow damage down to the minimum. The issue is that not having a Korean fandom already puts these groups at a disadvantage, so what do you think is the best way for companies to over-compensate that. Maybe in such cases the best route would be the company finding another passive income outlet that's not tightly related to group touring/releasing music but still keeping the brand of the group visible enough? submitted by /u/oddv8gue [link] [comments]

I just realized that bighit turned 20 this year and It made remember about this photoshoot of their artists gathering to celebrated the label 15th anniversary back in 2020. Why they not doing this photoshoot again this year for their 20th anniversary?? Especially since 20 is a bigger number of an achievement for any company submitted by /u/Party-Confection417 [link] [comments]

1.031. Not a kpop fan but just got branded as bully by one

  • 1 week ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Someone i know is really into a kpop which i am a bit familiar with since my younger sister listens to kpop, i'm not that blind when it comes to korean music (my mom's family is literally korean-chinese). I told her, my sister would make me listen to some korean songs. She then kept pestering me to kpop funny videos which i finally found annoying. I was getting tired playing nice rejecting her, so i told her i was an adult with real life bill problems, i wouldn't find any of these men (whose looks seem to be a lot younger than my age anyway) to be interesting. The next day, someone asked me if i bullied her because she apparently told some people that. I don't find them interesting nor i listen to their music but doesn't mean i hate them or it's being rude, just preference. Why would i even hate strangers?? submitted by /u/Crafty-Mammoth-6094 [link] [comments]

1.034. ablume is has been working with Ahn Seong-Il/The Givers beyond just producing music

It's not really speculation since there's video proof, but I don't know what other tag to put it under. It's hard to believe that Ahn Seong-Il's contract will only be for 1 year of producing. Wouldn't be shocked if they announce they will extend his contract or if Massive E&C is just a front to not say The Givers is their management. Not sure how they expect to win the tampering/poaching lawsuit when they're actively doing things like this. I feel bad for Keena.. 1.036. I think the Dream Academy girls had a reason to be frustrated with Manon

  • 1 week ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I have been recently getting into Katseye and I watched the Dream Academy Netflix documentary a few days ago and apparently a lot of fans didn’t like what many of the girls said about Manon on the documentary (? I don’t know if I’m missing something but I think they had valid reasons to feel frustrated. I get Manon had Covid and that’s why she couldn’t attend rehearsals but still, the girls had valid reasons to feel frustrated. I imagine the situation as if I’m doing a very important group project and one of the people from the group gets sick so they can’t work on the project like the rest of us, who work on the project for months. I understand it’s not the person’s fault but still, I have been working on this project for such a long time while this person didn’t. Also, why did Manon get to live on a different apartment than the rest of the girls? As I said, I do not know if I’m missing something but from what I have seen from the documentary it’s like Manon got a different treatment from the rest of the girls (a more favourable treatment), and they had valid reasons to dislike this situation submitted by /u/todoesdecolorr [link] [comments]
