Why are we obsessed with the “rag to riches” plot line for our faves?

I understand the need to highlight the struggles that “less privileged” idols have to overcome to get a sniff of success but it gets to a point. Cz why do I see some eyekons trying to convince us that Katseye came from nothing?? The same Katseye that I watched their survival show on NETFLIX, I was there when the show pseudo aired on YouTube AND when it officially launched on Netflix. The same Katseye that’s getting very good playlisting and mad promo opportunities is the one that came from zero? If they came from nothing then I can’t imagine what groups like Evnne, Xlov, onepact, etc came from, negative nothing?? (the fact that I know these listed groups means they’re not as nugu as most other groups are, it’s a jungle out there). The girls are immensely talented and deserve all the success and support they are receiving now, and it is not invalidated by the necessary and obvious backing of a conglomerate. I know the talent pool seems a bit thin these days, but some companies are still in the business of successfully debuting and promoting talented idols. This doesn’t make the idols any more or less deserving of their success, they worked their asses off to get where they are and their companies, the “good” ones at least, should help them get that success. Anyways, I know most of it is fans projecting their fantasies into these idols, but yh, most idols are not from nothing and they still deserve their wins. Also, i don’t know who needs to hear this but it’s okay to stan idols with privilege, life isn’t fair, some have it easy, some have it hard. Enjoy the art and have fun. submitted by /u/Mobile-Structure5702 [link] [comments]

hyunjin is our visual! rules: • submit any gen 4/gen 5 male idol that fits into the category in your opinion! • only ONE! (idk why people don't understand that😩 like if a comment wins with multiple idols mentioned then we still wouldn't have a winner..?) • ‼️don't submit the same idol twice, instead upvote comments‼️ • after 22 hours the voting is closed and I'll post for the next category now onto our ace :) submitted by /u/hyun_chuu [link] [comments]

2.696. people who don’t like a girl group and spam others about how much they don’t, just why?

  • 3 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I just commented on a random post in this sub about someone saying a certain group is getting too much hate from people. I agreed and shared my two cents, and got downvoted for saying that people who hate on groups just because they personally don’t like them are embarrassing. I genuinely don’t understand the concept of openly telling the world you hate a group so much to the point where you end up on the fans sub and then start posting hate comments there too. I’ve noticed this as someone who almost primarily Stan’s girl groups. Like unless we’re talking big boy groups (BTS, enha, SKZ, TXT) this behavior is almost never the same for them, and sometimes it seems like a couple of the k-subs (I won’t say it’s all of them) are so biased towards the bgs that they ignore this and ggs are allowed to receive hate for stupid things. For example the NJZS situation. There was a post about Hybe winning the trial, and while most people were saying they got what they deserved and served them right (ignoring the fact that this whole situation started before any of the girls had even hit their 20’s) some person randomly said “I miss NJZS I wish this never had happened” and was downvoted 10 times to where they eventually deleted the comment. Like to me this was absolutely absurd like why not just ignore the comment instead of mass downvoting to show how much you as a grown adult hate a group of once teenage girls. This happened with Giselle of Aespa with some people still bringing up her N-word scandal (even though that is now a scandal from 4 years ago) while Tarzzan a member of all day project just recently got caught saying the N-word and of course no one was surprised and he did receive backlash but keep in mind if Tarzzan was a female idol I’m strongly convinced he would’ve been kicked out now in order to save the groups rep. Plus he had allegations of appropriating black culture PREDEBUT, and is still in the group promoting not even a hiatus. And of course that two-color girl group which on the daily gets hate for things that don’t even make sense such as wearing revealing clothing despite the fact they are pushing 30. I even noticed people who don’t Stan said two-color group have been saying the hate is out of hand, but yet if someone says they agree and they stan the group getting hate on it’s downvoted galore. Long rant but like it’s actually so exhausting watching this all happen and it being accepted because it’s an unspoken norm across a couple of fandoms. Btw this is not me saying ALL groups as a whole In k-pop deserve hate, but just that certain people who don’t like specific groups need to learn to keep it to themselves instead of spreading it around to make themselves feel better. This is also not a generalization I know not everyone does this but a good amount of people do for me to make this post. submitted by /u/RaiATLAfan [link] [comments]

2.702. Recruiting For DEITY ( INDEPENDENT Girl Group

  • 3 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I'm creating an online girl group called DEITY, and we’re looking for 5 to 7 girls between the ages of 15–18 who want to be part of something special. This group is about building confidence, showing up as yourself, and connecting through face card energy, aesthetic, and advice — not perfection. DEITY is more than a vibe — it’s a digital space to feel seen. We’re not focused on traditional talent like dancing or singing (though you’re welcome to bring it). What we care about is presence. If you’re confident in your beauty or you’re willing to grow that confidence, that’s all we ask. “Face card beauty” isn’t about fitting into beauty standards — it’s about knowing your worth, expressing yourself, and being willing to be loud about it. Each member brings their own aesthetic, because we believe every goddess creates her own image. And if your life feels like it’s in chaos? That’s exactly why your voice matters — those are the people who give the most real advice. You’ve been through it. That’s what makes your presence valuable. 🌙 Audition Process: Add me on IG: @kaijool DM me 2–3 pictures of yourself Send a short video explaining who you are (anything real — your vibe, your goals, your truth) Optional: If you already have Insta pics up, that helps. I’ll work with you to help find your goddess aesthetic and give you your deity name from there. We're balancing this with real life — school, stress, everything. DEITY isn’t pressure — it’s power. If you're interested, DM or comment 🩶 submitted by /u/Fair-Contact7336 [link] [comments]

2.708. Who do you think are the idols with the best body proportions?

  • 3 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

For me, the idols with the best proportions are Hyunjin and Wonyoung. Among knetizens, they’re often called the "gods of proportions" The ideal proportion is considered to be an 8-head body ratio and over 70% leg length compared to the body, but no one really meets those standards — they're almost superhuman. The closest to that standard are Hyunjin and Wonyoung. They also have very small heads (+Karina) I was bored, so I analyzed photos of many idols and looked at their proportions, highlighting the best: - Hyunjin — height 179-180 cm, head-to-body ratio (how many heads fit in the body) is 7.5 to 1, leg-to-body ratio is 65% - Wonyoung — height 173-175 cm, head-to-body ratio is 7 to 1, leg-to-body ratio is 63% Idols whose good proportions are also frequently noted by netizens: - L¡sa — height 167 cm, head-to-body ratio is 7 to 1, leg-to-body ratio is 60% - Yeonjun — height 182 cm, head-to-body ratio is 6.5 to 1, leg-to-body ratio is 60% [Photos used for the measurements were taken from press, without editing or leg elongation] I’d love to hear which idols you think have the best body proportions! And this isn’t about shapes, abs, height, etc. 🫶🏻 submitted by /u/Wonderful-Ad7877 [link] [comments]
