Hello thinkers! The modteam has decided to collate all our recent policy updates in one post. You can view these from the community guidelines button as well, but this function has been broken in the Reddit app for about a month now (our darling u/lucichameleon has made our own bug report!) and can't be viewed in app. We hope that this makes our new policies more visible. Comments will be turned off because debate regarding these policies has already concluded in previous townhalls. Banned Topics: Sensitive topics - including but not limited to: cultural appropriation, race-related topics Idols’ sexuality speculation (this also applies to their personal life; who is dating who, which ships are real or not real, etc.) Eating Disorders/Body Image/Fatshaming/Weight Topics. This includes speculation on plastic surgery. International Politics, such ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict (including the boycotts around that) or the situation in Xinjiang. Topics with ongoing megathreads. Anything to do with the NJ/MHJ issue (unless it's in a megathread). Banned for staleness: Minors debuting and sexualisation of minors Whether or not 'kpop-adjacent' bands should be discussed in this sub and/or whether or not they are kpop. Meta discussions of kpop as a genre are not stale. Banning Policy: This list is currently being created and edited. Please be patient. The following is the policy for how users will be banned following rule violations. Rule 1 and Rule 11 both incur automatic temporary bans. Posting about a Banned Topic also incurs an automatic temporary ban. These guidelines are intended for posts/comments made within one day. Rule 1 (No Direct Insults) A single simple insult in one comment: one day. Multiple violations (up to three): three days A single, severe insult: three days Over three violations: seven days More than one severe insult: seven days There will be three temporary bans given for this rule. The fourth ban will be permanent. Rule 11 (No censoring of words) A single use of censoring, to avoid trigger list: one day Multiple violations (up to three) to avoid trigger list: three days Using censoring to bypass banned topics: three days Using emojis to censor: three days Multiple violations of censoring to avoid banned topics: seven days Multiple violations of using emojis to censor: seven days Censoring words and stating this is done to get around trigger or banned lists: seven days There will be three temporary bans given for this rule. The fourth ban will be permanent. Banned Topics Posting about a topic that is on the banned list: three days Other Rules This guideline is ongoing; it is not for comments within one day. Three warnings will be given. Upon the fourth rule violation, there will be a three-day ban. If there is a fifth violation, there will be a seven-day ban, with a notice that another violation will result in a permanent ban. Six rule violations will lead to a permanent ban. NSFW/Snark subs People who regularly participate in kpop snark subs will be banned from this one. To avoid unneccessary publicity, those subs will not be named. They are subs that fulfil both parts of the definition below. What is a snark sub? We define a snark sub as one that is set up for the express purpose of facilitating hateful discussion (snark) about a group AND disallows 'fan behaviour'. What is regular participation? Regular participation is defined as making a set number of comments or posts within a two week span. Please note that regular participation in NSFW kpop discussion subs (ie: fap subs) will also incur an automatic ban. As always our rules and policies are public for everyone to view and we hope Reddit sorts their mobile app ASAP! submitted by /u/KpopThoughtsmodteam [link] [comments]

I can understand if someone no longer supports them but the amount of nasty, disgusting & hateful comments and behaviors towards New Jeans is actually very disturbing. I used to try to overlook because its just probably little kids and teenagers doing this but honestly? I dont care how old you are, hatred is a learned behavior and it’s something you had have been doing for a LONG ass time for you to feel THIS comfortable doing it. Normal people dont feel comfortable leaving hate comments or spreading hateful ass shit btw & I dont wanna hear any of these mfs try to put blame on Knetz the next time there’s a death of an idol or celebrity in Korea. It’s time for y’all to look in the mirror submitted by /u/Which_Mammoth9402 [link] [comments]

By 1-2 punches I mean a part of a song where one singer had 1 or 2 lines and then another singer has 1 or 2 lines. You can base this on how much you like the lyrics, or their voices, or the overall sound. Let me know your favorite dynamic duos! For me personally, I'd have to go with Yujin followed by Leeseo in IVE's Love Dive with the "perfect sacrifice" part. Sounds really good. submitted by /u/SpecSlayerSC [link] [comments]
Sorry if this topic has already been talked about before, but I just feel really frustrated and needed to get it off my chest. I’m honestly so sick of trying to enjoy Illit content and every comment section turning into NJ talk. On TikTok, instagram and Twitter, I’ll see Illit clips that have nothing to do with NJ, but people still spam “I miss NJ ” or call Illit “NJ 2.0.” Illit are constantly being treated like stand-ins instead of their own group. Some even say Illit help them “get through” NJ’s absence, which just ends up projecting NJ onto them instead of appreciating Illit for Illit. And fans who claim to support both groups often still favor NJ, turning Illit’s space into more NJ talk. Sure, comparisons happen in K-pop all the time, but this feels completely different because of everything surrounding NJ the legal mess, the drama, the fandom wars. It’s like all of that baggage gets dumped onto Illit, even though they aren’t the ones involved. What makes it worse is how endless it feels. NJ haven’t been active for a while and people still won’t let it go. If it’s like this now, five years from now it’s probably going to be the same thing. It really feels like Illit will never be free to just stand on their own. I just want to enjoy Illit for Illit their songs, their concept, their performances. Not as a replacement, not as a shadow, not as anyone’s coping mechanism. Just…Illit. submitted by /u/SwordfishOk4948 [link] [comments]

they be the most hateful people to ever exist yet every time there is a death of an idol or celebrity , its “THE KOREANS” “KNETZ SO TOXIC” “WE COULD NEVER” The lengths they’ll take to justify their disgusting and shitty behavior towards new jeans is even more disturbing. i mean, i know most of them are like 12-16 year old kids who revolve their entire life around hating on idols but I just dont ever wanna hear ANY OF THEM talk shit on knetz ever again. Right now KPop is very much like soccer. Everyone plays the whole game, and does a different role, but has to contribute to every aspect when needed. However, if they followed football instead, just like offense defense and special teams, they could have different squads for each role. Why have a god tier vocalist spend time dancing? Why have a great dancer spend time making the music? There would be a lineup that makes the songs, and a lineup that does the performances. (If anyone has any idea good idea for "special teams" equivalent lmk) The entire group can still do variety shows together, it'd just be more made up of specialized idols. To be clear this might not end up better and probably would not, but I think it's an interesting concept that's worth a try. Curious if anyone has done this. submitted by /u/SpecSlayerSC [link] [comments]
