I personally think Kpop was still kpopping before New jeans came in the picture cuz now everything sounds like a mix of Pinkpantheres and just super Y2K vibe. (I love new jeans tho) Nobody is original anymore and kpop is 80% english and 20% korean now. No hate to that but I just miss when kpop had mainly korean lyrics and they’d only throw random ass english words here and there. submitted by /u/Which_Mammoth9402 [link] [comments]
Most of us already know the word sasaeng (사생팬), right? It literally means “privacy-invading fan.” It’s a shortened word in Korean: 사생활 침해 팬 → “sasaeng.” Basically, these are fans who cross every boundary like showing up at idols’ homes, following their cars, or even calling their personal phones. Obviously it’s considered harassment in Korea too, and yes, it is illegal cuz it’s basically stalking. What blows my mind is: how do sasaengs even get idols’ private info in the first place? There are rumors that shady insiders sometimes sell phone numbers or addresses like a telecom employee, a rogue manager, or even a “friend” who betrays trust. Nobody knows for sure, but clearly some of the info is real. That’s why you’ll sometimes see idols getting random calls during Instagram lives and snapping, “Stop calling me!” Imagine strangers blowing up your phone or standing outside your house every day. That’s terrifying. Idols are humans too. No one should have to live like that. Has anyone actually witnessed sasaeng behavior or know how they operate? Like how do they get all the personal info and know all the schedule. Personally, I’ve never seen them in real life, but it honestly feels like one of the darkest parts of K-pop fandom that never goes away. submitted by /u/SignificantElk5574 [link] [comments]

First it was people reporting lara and her family to ICE. Now some stays are reporting Soobin since he is in the US. And before yall start with the "Oh its just a joke or just ragebait" defenses you dont joke about that. Real people are losing their families and friends and are scared of even leaving their houses because of this. This is not something you joke about and its not something you weaponize in fanwars. Thats absolutely disgusting submitted by /u/icouto [link] [comments]

Lately, I’ve been thinking about how a lot of idols lose fans, not just because of their company’s mismanagement or lack of promotions, but also because of the way some of their own solo stans and akgaes behave. When you look at fandom spaces, it’s honestly wild how many people say they stopped stanning a member, not because they stopped liking the idol, but because they got so tired of dealing with that member’s solo fans. It’s ironic, because akgaes think they’re “protecting” their fave by tearing down the group or other members, but all they really do is make casual fans and even group stans resentful. Solo stans create this super hostile environment where everything has to be about their fave. If another member gets attention, it’s suddenly “unfair distribution” or “the company sabotaging X.” That negativity ends up in every conversation. People don’t want to support an idol if supporting them means constantly being dragged into fights with the rest of the fandom. And you know what's the worst part? It makes their fave look bad. Even if the idol is a kind, humble person, people start associating them with the behavior of their akgaes. “Oh, so and so's stans are always rude, they act like ___ is better than the group and they can’t share space with anyone else.” That reputation sticks unfortunately. On top of that, akgaes shrink their idol’s potential audience. Instead of encouraging group fans to also support solo activities, they push people away with their elitism. In my opinion, a healthy fandom helps an idol grow, while an akgae driven fandom isolates them. I get being protective of your fave, but the constant “only ___ matters” attitude just backfires. At the end of the day, no idol exists in a vacuum. Most of them want their group to succeed, they value their members, and they rely on group activities to stay relevant. If akgaes keep sabotaging those relationships, they’re not helping their fave shine. They’re slowly cutting off the support system that allows them to have a career in the first place. So honestly, sometimes it’s not just the company or the idol’s lack of charm that makes them fade. Sometimes, it’s their own fandom shooting them in the foot. And before anyone jumps in the comments saying “just get off social media and avoid fan spaces!!”, that’s not really the point. Being in the fandom is part of how idols get noticed, grow their careers, and connect with people. If all the spaces are full of negativity and gatekeeping, it’s not just about one fan logging off. It ends up affecting how the idol is seen and how many people even want to support them. I'm curious to know what you all think. Have you ever found yourself less inclined to follow an idol because of how their solo stans act, or because of negative experiences you've had with their fandom? submitted by /u/ResponsibleUsual7536 [link] [comments]

I’ve been playing with a sequel fan concept I created for KPop Demon Hunters (the Netflix/Sony animated film). Premise: After the Honmoon shatters and Gwi-Ma returns, Rumi, Mira, and Zoey hold auditions for a new member of HUNTR/X. Instead of another polished kpop trainee, a 23-year-old American named Ryder shows up. He’s skinny but strong, cowboy boots and wolf-skull tee, and instead of idol pop… he auditions with a gritty country-rock anthem ([Make My] Country Rock by Cory Marks). At first it feels like a total clash—but the raw vocals and guitar energy wins them over, and he officially becomes their fourth and final member. My question for discussion: If a country-rock rookie actually joined a K-pop group (fictionally or even in real life), would it break the vibe, or could that contrast make the group and story even stronger? Could K-pop ever successfully fuse with a genre like country-rock, or is that too far a stretch? What do you think will happen next after this scene? (Not official, just a concept idea I’ve been working on if Netflix/Sony made a sequel. Curious about your thoughts.) submitted by /u/Dg975 [link] [comments]
I haven't watched it yet, as I don't have an Apple TV subscription, but I was planning on buying one to check out the show, is it worth it? What should I look forward to? I'm a big Ateez fan, so I especially want to see that performance, and I plan on seeing all of the performances regardless, but lmk if it isn't worth it or anything else! submitted by /u/erxnga [link] [comments]

CRAVITY’s most recent album “Dare To Crave” is so good, but receiving such little attention. I was so shocked to see that there were only around 600,000 streams for the title track ‘set net go’ My favorite songs from this album are set net go, underdog, and click flash pow Underdog made me cry, I highly recommend listening to it, it’s such a masterpiece and I hope that if you didn’t listen to this album yet you take a listen cause it’s so worth it 🙏 submitted by /u/mailuus [link] [comments]
