Sorry for being so harsh, but I was so annoyed that everyone was saying 'Lia is this and that' 'Lia is a bad dancer' 'Lia blah blah blah', but fail to recognise that she had a part to play in Itzy's rise to fame. A LOT of people always say that Itzy fell off after sneakers, but I really don't think that was the entire reasoning. I really really loved sneakers (I know a lot of people didn't) but regardless, I do not really remember hearing anything about Itzy to the point I was literally wondering. wth where's Itzy only to realise that Lia went on hiatus after sneakers era and even though they were still making songs they weren't getting any traction like before, you know WHEN LIA WAS THERE!!! Obviously I'm not saying she's the only person that matters in the group or that they all depend on her, of course not they are all extremely talented women and their solos were absolutely amazing, but it seemed like everyone was not interested and they couldn't make numbers like their Loco era. But think to rn when 'air' came out and 'girls will be girls' like I've heard so much about their new songs, and I know Lia came back like last year June or July, but it seems like they are regaining traction. It's so upsetting to see "FANS" complain about a member so much that they are happy for them to go on hiatus, only for them to exit the fandom as soon as said member goes on hiatus, instead only saying the group is dead and they fell off. EVERY 👏 MEMBER👏 HAS 👏A 👏PART👏 TO PLAY👏 IN 👏THE 👏GROUP. And even if you can't see that, their presence still stays there empty, and I feel Itzy showed that clearly. Of course there are some groups that still do amazingly well after a member left, like G-idle and Stray Kids, but Kim Woojin left BEFORE they got big. The same thing with G-idle, their songs 'Queencard' 'Nude' and 'Tomboy' were made after Soojin was made to leave, those songs were their most popular and I feel like they got bigger AFTER Soojin left so her loss wasn't really felt, and didn't impact the popularity of the group as much as Lia did Itzy. Btw this is not me putting down other members of Itzy, or members from other groups. I'm just simply trying to say when a group gets big, everyone comes to know and love that group in that certain way (with those members and their vibe)and hating on one member because a person thinks they are a place holder makes NO SENSE as they ALL equally played a role in making the group what it is. EVEN IF YOU CANNOT SEE EXACTLY HOW THEY HELPED. And these people seem to forget that practice is a thing, like not everyone is good at something as soon as they're born. The best dancers/singers in K-pop definitely weren't the best dancers/singers their entire lives, they worked to get to where they are. not every single K-pop Idol can be an all-rounder, and if you think that 'someone is a bad dancer' 'someone is a bad singer' 'someone has bad stage presence' FINE that is your opinion but they still add something to the group, and they can always work on their weaknesses. submitted by /u/Haunting_Play4959 [link] [comments]

I think most casual listeners would agree that these two are their most memorable singers not just based on vocal ability but on their tone and delivery as well which is why I say they are underutilized. I'm aware that they've had the most amount of lines across their whole discography but it's not just about individual parts or singing the most lines in total. I don't know if it's the formulaic YG production that dates all the way back to their predecessors or the fear of making their fans unhappy but their choruses being so rap or instrumental driven has only been detrimental to their music. Jennie & Rosé have unique voices that don't sound anything alike when you listen to them separately but the moment they sing in unison it becomes clear how well they complement each other. A lot of their songs would benefit from an all-vocal chorus, vocal layering & adlibs that I think J&R are perfect for. Teddy relies a lot on the Jennie & Lisa combo for their choruses but in my opinion they should've gone the Girls' Generation route and built their sound around Jennie & Rosé. I've noticed that a lot of their fans are either ex-harmonizers with Camila Cabello trauma or juvenile teens who have no knowledge of pop music and its history (but that's nearly all K-Pop fans) hence their incessant crying about equal line distribution and wanting someone to be the underdog and I believe it's had a negative impact on their music. Who gets what part should depend on whose voice best matches the sound that they're going for and who elevates it. All the successful girl groups in the history of music had that one or two stand-out members that helped shape their sound and it worked for a reason. EDIT: I should've said they aren't utilized correctly, rather than underutilized. The point still stands. submitted by /u/balmybuttons [link] [comments]

Looking at them you can easily tell that they love music, they love being on stage singing, hitting those high notes, putting every single emotion in that song. Like they eat CDs for breakfast. No matter what the condition - they are sick, they are tired, or dancing a powerful choreo they would still serve and bless our ears like the rent is due. Like you can hear the passion in their voice. submitted by /u/lia_core [link] [comments]

I honestly didn’t think an idol would ever post about India, the fact that both bambam and Jackson visited India, and Jackson even posting about the plane crash. It was a tragedy, the entire plane crashed into the hostel of a medical college. It’s geuininly such a tragic situation 💔 submitted by /u/cloverbloomswift [link] [comments]
