2.224. Do gay idols avoid scandals easier because they get mistaken for being good friends?

  • 2 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Theoretically, if we put the whole stigma aside, wouldn’t it be easier for gay idols to date? All the absurd scandals with fans looking for a reflection in a spoon are avoided. Want to go out for drinks? Good friends pictured during a restaurant/bar outing! Want to stay the night? Friends had a house party! Want to gift couple wear? These two good friends gifted each other bracelets, how cute! Especially considering how democratized skinship is among same-sex friends, holding hands and being touchy isn’t seen as weird. I’m not saying being gay is easy, but it for sure must be easier to avoid scandals and dispatch. submitted by /u/Extra-Ad3302 [link] [comments]

2.225. Why people like All-day Project so much now

  • 2 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

So I noticed how in the beginning people was rightfully angry at Lee Chaewon for appropriating black culture, but after some time it changed. People started stanning them (including him). I tried listening to both of their songs but they're very mediocre imo, so why people like them? (Btw I'm not trying to say that they're wrong for stanning the other members, I'm talking about the people who deny the fact that Chaewon is being so racist and stan him) submitted by /u/Greydwatcherton [link] [comments]

2.238. Do non kpop fans read subtitles for kpop songs?

  • 2 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Every time when my friend or mom asks me to play a K-pop song, they complain that they can't understand the lyrics. So I always put English subtitles on when I put on K-pop, but even if I do add the English subtitles, they still don't have any reaction? Even when it's an emotional or intense song with profound lyrics. Like can be a crazy diss track like Agust D or a sad song like Eyes, Nose, Lips. I'm not sure what's going on in a non-K-pop stan's head. Do non-K-pop fans read subtitles? Because I always read them when my sister shows me her favorite anime or Japanese content. If the answer is yes, does the song make sense, or are you guys still confused? Do the lyrics go too fast, or when you read a verse, do you comprehend it, or is it hard to understand everything? I could sit down and really explain one or two songs, but it's going to be impossible to explain every K-pop song. If the answer is no, why don't they? Are K-pop MVs too overstimulating so you can't focus on the lyrics? I also play just the lyrics video sometimes, and those videos are just the translation, so it should be easy to read. When I add English CC, I'm not expecting them to fully understand all the lyrics. I just hope you understand the basics and overall message. Do non-K-pop fans just not like or want to read subtitles? Are you all stubborn or just genuinely don't care? 🥲 I'm not sure what to do because the only way to fully understand the lyrics is to read the English CC. Now the words aren't the only important thing about a K-pop song. It's also the dancing, MV, and performance, but the lyrics are the main part of the music. submitted by /u/Pink4everUwU [link] [comments]

2.240. Certain words and phrases must be banned on social media apps’ comment section

  • 2 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Under most artists’ social media posts, the top comments are almost always a rage bait or a hate comment. These comments either have many likes or have a lot of replies which places them on top of comment section. I understand if this was a case for a regular influencer, the engagement would be very important. But for a kpop idol, this is not important at all. I think it’s time they ban these certain words from the comment section. There are always comments about : X artist is the next Y (y is an idol who committed and passed away) Z artist is better than you (the profile picture will be of a different artist so that everyone blames that artist and the fandom) Under illit or lsf, there will always be mention of another artist. I think it’s time the social media managers do something submitted by /u/Gisntd [link] [comments]
