1.400. Idols who just debuted talking about how they're the trend setters is funny

  • 2 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

This actually goes for any idol who is NOT a trend setter, a common target for fans or non fans or just existing while their lyrics read I am better than you because I have more fame and money. And whenever they say this, I just chuckle. It's like yeah, you're cute. Unless you're debuting from an Mnet survival show, I don't see any purpose for debut songs going, I am sparking debate because I am so popular. And yes, this is in direct conversation with the latest debut song Famous by AllDay Project. The song is saying I am not even famous and I am the trend setter. Like? Idk, I am just not into it. submitted by /u/Excellent-Services [link] [comments]

1.406. Blinks and their double standards towards Lisa

  • 2 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

After 7 years in this fandom I've decided to leave it because the way A LOT of blinks are treating Lisa is making me extremely uncomfortable in particular as a SEA woman myself. I've been noticing this weird attitude from the the fans towards her starting from the beginning of last year: judging her hard if she didn't make an IG post on time but no problems if the other members did the same. They made complains when she went to Sicily for a Bulgari event or when she released the MV for her Tyla collab because "she doesn't care about blackpink but only about her solo activities" (a post made by a blink calling her out for being "selfish" reached 50k likes on X) but now that Rosé is coming out with a new collab and Jennie resumed her solo activities they are celebrating it (the tour is in 2 weeks btw)? When I pointed this out calmely to some fans I was called xenophobic names (eg monkey) by some blinks themselves and called an akgae. This fandom needs come cleansing because clearly there are some deeper problems there. submitted by /u/Alarmed-Location8681 [link] [comments]

1.407. New Jeans' appeal to the court against the ban on independent activities was dismissed.

  • 2 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

According to a SPOTV News report on the 17th, the 25-2 Civil Affairs Department of the Seoul High Court dismissed New Jeans' injunction appeal that afternoon. The Seoul Central District Court previously accepted Adore's injunction application for the preservation of the agency's status and prohibition of signing advertising contracts against the five members of New Jeans, ruling in Adore's favor. Afterwards, the members objected to the injunction application, but when it was not accepted, they immediately appealed. However, the court ruled in Ador's favor in the appeal trial as well. As a result, New Jeans can no longer continue independent activities without Adore. New Jeans has made it clear that they will not return to Ador. At the second hearing of the lawsuit for the validity of the exclusive contract that Adore recently filed against New Jeans, they stated, "The trust relationship has already been completely broken. We have crossed a river of no return," and "It will not be easy." To add from another news outlet The court did not accept any of New Jeans’ arguments, including: 1) the devaluation of New Jeans due to Hybe’s practice of pushing out albums, 2) the producing vacuum following the dismissal of former Adore CEO Min Hee-jin, 3) the formation of negative public opinion about New Jeans due to Hybe and Adore’s retaliatory audit of former CEO Min, 4) the “ignore” remarks made by member Hani to a manager of another label under Hybe, and 5) concept duplication. However, if the NewJeans members disagree with this ruling and file another appeal, the provisional disposition case could proceed to the Supreme Court. submitted by /u/jqiwyoxn [link] [comments]

1.413. EARLY thoughts on big hit new bg?

  • 2 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Seems like it’s going to be 5 member group again which proves me that hybe doesn’t really like anything bigger than 6 members anymore lol. That aside the members seem to have an interesting historial. The members in question are (allegedly): James 🇹🇼/🇹🇭(2005) Martin 🇨🇦🇰🇷 (2008) Juhoon 🇰🇷 (2008) Seonghyeon 🇰🇷 (2009) Keonho 🇰🇷 (2009) They're pretty young (as expected lol) Out of the bunch James used to be part of the Trainee A project and is credited in the production and writing of Deja vu by TXT, Magnetic by ILLIT, Miracle by TXT and was also involved in the choreography of Cherish by ILLIT. is credited in the production and writing of Deja Vu by TXT, Miracle by TXT, Magnetic by ILLIT, Pierrot by LE SSERAFIM, Outside by ENHYPEN. Juhoon used to be a child model and participated in an mv with Ella of MEOVV. The other 2 guys seem to not have participated in anything before since there's no more info about them. Personally I’ll be tuning in cuz there hasn't been any big kicker bg debut this year so I want to see how this goes. Honestly none of the rookies this year impacted me in any way outside of h2h but their ditched their debut sound and close your eyes debut song but they’re a project group 😬 It’s been 6 years since big hit last group so I want to see what they have to offer. Hybe in general seem to have cracked the bg formula so they probably hit it off but I wonder what concept are will they be going for 🧐 probably something light but big hit team it’s pretty creative so this might be interesting. submitted by /u/maonyuz [link] [comments]

1.414. why do fans call idols fluent when their actual language use seems pretty basic?

  • 2 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

This is something I’ve been thinking about for a while, as i came across numerous fan made videos on social media about how fluent or good their idols language of conducts. It’s common in the K-pop fandom to hear fans praise certain idols for being fluent in Japanese and even English too, But when I watch interviews (even recent ones), many of them still speak mostly in kr language, say just a few simple phrases in japanese or english, and often rely on a translator for the bulk of the conversation. They might understand some parts, but their responses are usually short and basic, and the conversation doesn’t flow naturally. That made me think , if this were a regular person working or studying in an english-speaking country or japan, and they had this level of communication, most people wouldn’t say they’re fluent. They’d probably be considered beginners or at best lower-intermediate. For example, if someone were living in the UK or US and still needed a translator and couldn’t fully express themselves in english, we wouldn’t consider that fluency. So I’m genuinely curious are idols being held to a different standard when it comes to language proficiency? Is it more about showing effort than actual ability? Are we, as fans, unintentionally lowering the bar when it comes to what counts as fluent?. Me, myself am not a native english speaker and I’ve been learning english for more than 10 years. I might be at an intermediate level now, and I can communicate decently but I still wouldn’t call myself fluent. I still make mistakes and have gaps in understanding, and I know there’s always more to learn. I’ve also been learning another language for about 2 years now, and I understand how hard it is to reach even a conversational level in any new language. So this thought doesn’t come from a place of criticism, it’s more a reflection from someone who’s actively going through the language-learning process and wondering how fluency is defined so differently when it comes to idols. submitted by /u/Party_Nervous [link] [comments]

1.415. If your Bias became a Soloist, what would her/his Debut sound like?

  • 2 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

If your bias hasn't debuted solo yet, what would their solo look like? What kind of songs would you like them to perform? If they've already debuted, think about what you'd like for their next comeback. Here are my wishes: Xiaoyun (WayV) I would love to see him trying a cool and rather upbeat sound. He needs a song that showcases his beautiful voice the best! Xiaoyun has a very emotional vocal tone and a super strong stage presence and he would definitly shine in tracks like "What a Man Gotta Do" by the Jonas Brothers or even a more latino-styled song like "Bam Bam" by Camila Cabello. Yeoreum (WJSN) I'd love to see her get a cool and dance-focused track like Dua Lipas "Physical" or "Training Season". Since she is very underrated and gets overshadowed in WJSN due to the amount of other members with stronger vocal abilities, I really want to see her break out of her cute concepts and show us how good she really is at dancing! She got seriously so much potential and I need to see her command the stage again :D I'd love to hear your thoughts! submitted by /u/My_Opinionchill [link] [comments]
