6. What are your favorite stage designs?

  • 1 hour ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Recently watched BTS Sowoozoo concert from BTS movie weeks and it made me remember how much I adore the stage set-up. The stage itself represents both the 8 years they’d been a group at the time and an infinity symbol for the amount of time they want to be a group in the future. The giant moon/planets to symbolize the celestial “small universe” theme in Sowoozoo’s title. The screens set up around the venue with ARMY bombs stuck on the top to represent ARMY that couldn’t attend in person due to the pandemic. Everything about this stage design was just amazing, and the fact that it was made solely for a 2-day live-streamed concert and not a full scale tour still baffles me. What are some of your favorite stage designs in kpop and do they have hidden meanings that add to the overall theme/story of the performance? submitted by /u/Tayyy_734 [link] [comments]

7. People only call certain idols "ugly" because they have unique beauty.

  • 1 hour ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

It isn't fair. All idols have some beauty. We should not be fighting over idols looks. I don't care if they got plastic surgery. Idgaf. I don't care if an idol is short. Idgaf. Unique beauty is something you people cannot seem to handle. Korean beauty standards mean nothing and they don't define someone's worth. I don't know why people are so judgey, like god forbid someone looks different or isn't made out of plastic, you know? submitted by /u/No_Prior_3740 [link] [comments]

17. What makes top kpop boygroups, a top kpop boygroup?

  • 3 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

When I look around, it feels like we barely have any male groups that dominate public attention anymore (by that, at the very least, general kpop circle). Nowadays, it seems like girl groups are the ones constantly getting headlines and viral moments. 4th gen especially feels like a clear turning point. The only major exception I can think of is Stray Kids, who seem to be among the few 4th gen acts that actually broke through to the top tier. But when I look back at the hall of fame of boy groups; BTS, EXO, BIGBANG, Super Junior, TVXQ, it makes me wonder: What did they have that others don’t? Was it timing? Charisma? Individuality? Musical identity? Or something else entirely? Why did those groups manage to define their eras while after SKZ, no boy groups seem to have truly reached that level, or hopefully, not yet? submitted by /u/Personal_Damage6616 [link] [comments]

18. Is it really bad to say " every group paved their own way"

  • 4 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Yall i finally checked my alt Insta acc and saw a reel dragging down other groups to say "BTS PAVED THE WAY" like I don't understand this ... Yes BTS gave exposure to many kpop stans but wouldn't the fans stan the other group the same . Is it really fair to say other groups are famous because of BTS , it's like we don't acknowledge the other groups hardwork or talent at all , no hate to BTS , just my opinion feel free to do the same. From independence, self-producing, and establishing their own companies to unapologetically dating in public, slaying fashion week, and shutting down parasocialism - they're changing the game. Although, I'm not a fan, but I've got respect for them using their influence to challenge the toxic norms in the industry. submitted by /u/Comfortable-Spend580 [link] [comments]

22. I think K-pop’s obsession with perfection is making idols less relatable and it’s starting to show.

  • 4 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Watching newer groups debut lately, I’ve noticed how “polished” everything feels the visuals, the choreography, the PR responses. It’s impressive, but I miss seeing a bit of personality slip through. Second and third gen idols used to have awkward interviews, goofy variety show moments, and genuine off-stage energy. Now, everything feels so filtered that I sometimes can’t tell who the real person is behind the idol. I get that companies want to avoid controversy, but does anyone else feel like K-pop is starting to lose the human element that made it charming in the first place? submitted by /u/Physical_Ship_5717 [link] [comments]
