Which idols for you have a face that you only needed to see once to remember, and whom you never once got mixed up with anyone else, and never could? A face youâd be able to recognize and name instantly, which took no time at all for you to learn? Also, pretty much no one else in the industry looks like them? For me, some of them were: BTS Jimin; EXO Kai; BP Lisa; SVT Vernon; VIXX Leo; SF9 Yoo Taeyang; Mamamoo Hwasa, Moonbyul; Twice Jihyo; Ateez Hongjoong. submitted by /u/Lilac-Soul [link] [comments]
Been watching Illit's new music video for Jellyous nonstop since it dropped and I'm just in awe of how well their creative team was able to incorporate so many video game elements into such a short music video. From references to the DS to the Wii and games like mario cart, just dance and gta, it's so nice to see their team take their 8 bit/chiptune sound and explore that visually in a music video too. I think their team in general has been doing such a good job of managing their work so far and creating a very solid identity for them thats clearly resonating with a lot of girls/women especially in their late teens and 20s and I think it's so refreshing to see a group like this. Even Do the Dance which I first had a lot of doubts about has really grown on me and pushing the whole cat and magical girl concept is so smart cause it really adds to their whole brand which feels very sailor moon adjacent. In general Im really excited to see what their future comebacks looks like and it's been a while since Ive been this excited about music videos at least lol submitted by /u/PrimaryTomato3310 [link] [comments]
Hardly a babymonster fan but I saw a post earlier on reddit about her being an elementary school drop out. I randomly came across her weverse post on twt about the situation and decided to post it here since I didn't see an update on that yet. "Ah! And....I noticed some people were surprised when I said "kindergarten graduate" on the show. Since I started chasing my dream of becoming an artist from elementary school, I keep going back and forth between school and practice. So I feel like kindergarten was the last time I actually ended up going to school properly. I just wanted to say that in a funny way, but because I said it so briefly I think I didn't explain it well. It reminded me again I have a lot to learn and grow. Asa needs to work even harder!" I think she was in a situation pretty much many idols who started training early. Many of them could not completely focus on school (middle and high school specifically) because of how busy their schedules were. The last time they could attend school properly, like Asa said, was probably back when they were very young and still attending kindergarten. There's still criticism to be had towards companies and parents who take such huge risks with children without any guarantee of a career, however Asa's words here were definitely misunderstood. submitted by /u/peach_tweech [link] [comments]
In Running Man ep 162, it was arguably the best opening of the shows based on fans feedback. The introduction of the episode, each of the Running Man casts performed together with 3rd Gen Idols/Groups, the groups that are included in this show are: https://youtu.be/DE6M4rDKdGE â¢Infinite (with HAHA) â¢APink (with Kang Gary) â¢BEAST (with Song Ji Hyo) â¢Girls Day (with Yoo Jae Suk) â¢MBLAQ (with Lee Kwang Soo) â¢Sistar (with Kim Jong Kook) â¢2PM (with Ji Suk Jin) Idols in 3rd(to 4th) Generation seems freely to bond and interact with each other without thinking about any possible backlash or disputes from one fanbase to another. This episode is more than just singing/dancing for groups, they went and got soaked and wet in swimming pool, sweat in dodge ball and etc. In todays Generation (4th, 4.5th, 5th), if Running Man (or any Variety show in South Korea) decides to recreate concept something similar or alike this, is there any particular groups/idols you wish or suprise you to be invited to show not just their specialty in dancing/singing but their overall Idol specialty aswell and bond and interact with each other without raging into war from their fan bases? This is my just a list of opinions I want to see (if ever the recereate a episode alike) based on active/recent performing groups (the numbers of guest listed are based on active casts of Running Man) â¢ITZY â¢Stray Kids â¢BabyMonster â¢IVE â¢Ateez â¢Aespa â¢Meovv â¢NCT If you were to add or make a list of your own, what group/s would it be and why? *NOTE THAT THIS REDDIT POSTS IS JUST FOR DISCUSSION ONLY. ANY GROUPS THAT WERE POSTED HERE ARE JUST MY "OWN OPINION". I WOULD LIKE TO APOLOGIZE IF I MAY NOT INCLUDE YOUR FAVOURITE GROUP ON THE LISTS." submitted by /u/Usual-Range8617 [link] [comments]
Youtubers and stans on twitter are claiming that BLACKPINK plans (possibly a mid-July) return with an 18-20 track album, including âThe Girlsâ OST and collaborations with major female artists, more details to be announced this coming week. e.g. one of the artists is rumored to be Sabrina Carpenter. News according to kpop youtubers and stans come from the same Telegram group that on the newest spoiler pre official announcement where right about "JUMP" single release. Do you guys think it is possible for YG to pull this off? Everything with them recently feels more rushed then usual. submitted by /u/MasterHospital [link] [comments]

As someone who enjoys the majority of Aespa's music, I was pretty hyped about Dirty Work. But halfway through the first listen, I felt like something was egregiously wrong vocally and I never heard that problem in their work prior. I understand they wanted to sound badass and have an effortless confidence but their lower registers are not very well utilized. Dirty Work is riddled with strained vocal fry's and whisper singing. Especially Winter and Karina, I can hardly hear them, their voices sound stuck in the back of their throat. They're enunication is also poor which is the fault of SM lyricists for giving them material they're not familiar with. But their mumbling unfortunately does sound strange. The only one who sounds good/natural here is Ningning. Giselle's rap was also decent. I firmly believe if the vocal direction wasn't so weird, Dirty Work honestly wouldn't sound that bad. A great of example of their other songs with I think similar vocal direction is Licorice and Illusion but they sound 10x better there than in Dirty Work. submitted by /u/Own-Calligrapher1687 [link] [comments]

As the title suggests, I am just here to gush about how much I love this song. The powerful vocals, maximalist production, combination of rock guitar with electronic synths... god it's so peak. I miss when music like this came out more often. The closest thing I have now is Dreamcatcher's discography but they seem to have gone their separate ways for now :( If anyone has song recs like this one, I will happily take them. submitted by /u/meowvelous-12 [link] [comments]

via Weverse comments Translated comment below ð€I'm curious about the behind-the-scenes story of Running Man ð€ Golden hands A-sa ðð ð When I play games, I don't usually have gold hands Strangely, that day I was surprised to get only gold cheeks... They were so nice to me during the shoot It was such a precious moment It was my first time appearing on a variety show as a unit Honestly, I was very nervous... I'm so thankful that everyone seems to have liked it. ð€ Oh! And.. I said, "I graduated from kindergarten" I think there are people who were surprised I've been an artist since elementary school Since I practiced while dreaming of my dream I went back and forth to school and practice I went to school properly because I felt like I was in kindergarten I wanted to say that in a funny way I didn't explain it well because I talked briefly I'm still inexperienced and I have a lot to learn I felt that again Company A needs to work harder... Seems to me she meant that her education later on was split between training and school, from what I gathered. submitted by /u/wakemeupp [link] [comments]

I believe this is quite a complex topic because weâre all aware of the many issues within the K-pop industry, but for me, I would like to see idols have more freedom. South Korea already has a more conservative culture on its own, but I think it would be a meaningful step if idols could feel free to say or do what they want, without worrying about what the company thinks or even about how Koreans might react. I donât see this as an obligation for them, but more as an ideal: that they could simply have the right to choose. From a more Western perspective, the K-pop industry is still often seen as something purely commercial. Thereâs not always a real, deep connection between artists and fans (of course, we could also talk about racism against Asians, but Iâm trying to approach it from a different angle). It would be revolutionary to imagine stripping companies of their total control and allowing idols to be free to do what truly makes them feel comfortable. submitted by /u/PuzzleheadedMovie950 [link] [comments]
