as the title says, I watched popular kpop performances from fifteen groups I’ve been wanting to stan, since I’ve been a casual listener of most of them for a while. groups: kiiikiii, hearts2hearts, triples, rescene, izna, fromis_9, wooah, viviz, everglow, unis, nmixx, dreamcatcher, purple kiss, loveone, and stayc ranking: kiiiikiii | i do me viviz | shhh izna | sign fromis_9 | dm pinball | rescene triples | girls never die hearts2hearts | the chase dreamcatcher | justice nmixx | run for roses unis | swicy everglow | zombie purple kiss | sweet juice wooah | pom pom loveone | drama queen stayc | asap all of these songs were rlly good, so they were difficult to rank. I might do one of these where I rank each song’s mv based on mv visuals (if there is an mv for each one) side note: this has been in my drafts for a month and I forgot to post it. I did end up stanning rescene and viviz since I rlly love their music. submitted by /u/yunjsst [link] [comments]

Since this is one of Reddit’s favorite topics, I wanna bring it up again, but with a spin! aespa has been going to a lot of festivals and shows lately, and they’ve shown incredible live singing. So, instead of rage baiting with the same cuts and crying about how they “never sing live” or “why won’t they do their job!” over random cuts from cursed websites, let’s watch their recent live performances! Note: I can’t seem to link stuff properly, so links are in parentheses. Mawazine Festival in Morocco (https://youtu.be/iIcQxXmzG5c?feature=shared). They performed with live vocals for an hour, and with a live band too! Myk Festival (https://youtu.be/LorMQM8GyXQ?si=l5ns_tWrN6EfhWMI). I love the outfits and the girls slayed. Inkigayo Unicon (https://youtu.be/uZD-9ikcZC0?si=ixh4wEXQM1IxUkoK). I’ll never get tired of listening to Supernova live. It’s addictive lol. K-Link festival (https://youtu.be/VwEoybH0rPA?si=_BzDIWqGrPr1rebe). Oh Armageddon, the queen that you are… Dirty Work encore (https://youtu.be/RC_h_XDGKZQ?si=tfj4t0MxiqyX9YO3). Fresh from the oven! SMTOWN Jakarta (https://youtu.be/PGBbC7i7r7Q?si=A57f-p8On4ni_bcV). This one is a bit older, but this perf of Next Level is always good. And there are many more, but these are some of my favorites. To be honest, as a fan, it makes me sad that people have this image of them that they have never sung live, so, here are some performances that prove otherwise. Hopefully they get more chances to showcase their amazing vocals! submitted by /u/randomgirl852007 [link] [comments]
Pick as many numbers as you want tbh. The more the merrier. And I'd love some music recs back! Let's swap some music! My list is a decent blend between idol groups, kbands and indie, both newer and older gens. Skews a bit gg though. submitted by /u/pornypete [link] [comments]
I feel like female idols do get more hate than male idols. Female idols get unnecessary hate sometimes. I've seen female idols get bashed so many times by the fans. While the male idols weren't less of a problem either. What do you think? 🤔 submitted by /u/FarMathematician702 [link] [comments]
I just want to applaud their choreographer shohey cos he’s doing such a good job with them obviously this is a testament to the girls dancing skills too. Every choreo I feel like they come up with is so new and different and refreshing. It’s not just move right hand move left hand it’s jump, side step, kick, helicopter etc. they’re not easy dances at all which I love to see. And they have the stage presence and performance skills to match the energy too submitted by /u/AdEmergency6619 [link] [comments]
my opinion on ive is that they don’t have much chemistry as a group. i’m sure they’re close first — you kinda have to be if you’re in a situation like that (#traumabond) — but ppl love when groups are really close and have inside jokes and stuff. i think it’s because of the super different schedules — wonyoung and yujin work a lot more (starship’s fault tbh). but group chemistry really sells, like aespa and hybe groups in general are always talking about how close they are etc and ppl love it. tbh they’re not doing bad at all, actually doing great. but sometimes 1 2 3 ive can be hard to watch bc of this, and i think it would really help push them globally. international fans especially love close-knit groups. plus, if they had better chemistry moments, fans would be more inclined to make youtube clips, tiktok edits, and all that content. at the end of the day they’re successful so it doesn’t really matter lol, and i’m sure they’re close, but i wanna see 1 2 3 ive be more interesting lol bcs sometimes it’s like 💤💤💤! submitted by /u/Hopeful_Fee932 [link] [comments]
I’ll go first. I recently realised I love unit photo cards but don’t really like group photo cards (especially if you only get 1 photocard per album) submitted by /u/M0us3Cheezz [link] [comments]

PSA means public service announcement. So l’m thinking in terms of common misconceptions/mistakes that Kpop fans make that you’d like to correct! For example, and this is my biggest pet peeve… The guy’s name from Enhypen is HEESEUNG NOT HEESUNG. Chances are if you’re spelling it like the latter, you’re also saying it wrong!!! The korean spelling is 승 not 성 which has a completely different vowel. Here’s another one: a nice vocal tone has nothing to do with skill (although you can certainly appreciate it!) submitted by /u/Lilac-Soul [link] [comments]

Like I get they fit 90% of the korean beauty standard but it's starting to get a bit sad. An Example : When jang wonyoung was in izone no-one kept degrading her to just her looks. in fan community spaces we were able to talk about the songs and her lines and maybe her interactions with the members but now that she's got a glow up in IVE. oh boy the fandom has changed, it's like you cannot have an opinion of her or else you are simply jealous. every talk is about her visuals. they treat her like she is an alien. they see wonyoung liking a song? it's shocking to them like she's a robot. it's as if people cannot imagine a good looking person having an ounce of personality. do you know how it feels to do a normal human thing and people react like you've just sold world hunger. it feels jarring and weird. she is good at singing and writing songs but people don't seem to care anymore at all. Hopefully people understand what I'm trying to get out. At the end of the day she has used her looks to her advantage and is making bank so props to her - but people need to understand she chose to be a "SINGER" before she became a "MODEL" p.s i am saying this as a bias since 2018 who used to run a fan-page till 2022. just wanted to hear people's thoughts submitted by /u/winniecore [link] [comments]

Not a single post discussing this news when it's making headlines everywhere in Korea right now - I wonder why 🤔 submitted by /u/Special-Ad6201 [link] [comments]
This is something I think about often, just out of curiosity. I’m still relatively new to K-Pop, and I’ve been fascinated by the different paths idols take to debut. I’ve noticed some artists seem to have had a slightly “easier” or more unique road—though I know it’s never truly easy. For example, Yoonchae from KATSEYE trained in Korea but debuted in a global group that’s LA-based and seems to be more flexible than traditional idol groups. And Kyongbae from Close Your Eyes was self-taught and got in through a survival show without a typical trainee background. Who are some other idols that come to mind who maybe had less of the grueling training system, or had circumstances that helped them a bit more than others? submitted by /u/32Wicky [link] [comments]
