Just like, a thing in kpop that's so niche and a relative non-issue that you feel like you need to touch grass for even caring about it enough to let it bother you. Personally: I'm not the biggest fan of shipping in general, but outside of how it affects the real life idols due to invasive tinhatting or "gtfo of their comments section with your shipping agendas" stuff I generally take the stance that it's begrudgingly fine; people are going to do it no matter what and have BEEN doing it (see: the beatles), so it's not worth policing outside of "don't be stupid and annoying." Like it pisses me off that sometimes fans can't talk abt idols separately without bringing their shit into it but I have the block button. HOWEVER. Something that ruins my next hour whenever I see it is when they call a male idol a wife to another male idol who gets husband. Why can't they both be husbands. [Sanders side voice] what gender roles are we pushing here. It's also often very conspicuous that the gender roles only go one way, like when it's "poor military HUSBAND [idol who isn't enlisted] waiting for his WIFE to return" like ok we're breaking the traditional roles i guess but only insofar that we can't let this guy be anything but a wife and the other guy be anything but a husband. And it's always based on whichever guy is more muscular than the other and literally no other stereotypical trait, not even their actual interactions. Like i know it's insane to be suspicious of what stereotypes the fans latch onto and which ones get ignored but I keep noticing it. Almost fascinating insights into what fantasies get prioritized tbh. I think this one gets me because it intersects on something which I DO think matters legitimately, and that's our conceptualization of gender and gender roles + prescribing shit onto strangers based on, like, aesthetic, and people pile a lot of adjectives onto the "wife" role that are tbh indistinguishable from how misogynists used to talk about their wives in the 60s. it's extra loaded because of these being East Asian men, a demographic which historically got heavily emasculated for not meeting the western standards of masculinity. However, given the context is I'm getting mad over how ppl do Kpop shipping, I sorta have to take the L because there are literally more pressing matters. Like kpop fans have borderline regressive views on gender ok fork found in kitchen. You'd think fork would be better about it considering fork is often part of the Gender community but whatever Less complicated pet peeve: "father-son/mother-daughter" abt two idols in the same group with a 2 yr age gap submitted by /u/SomeRaceHorseName [link] [comments]
Could be both good or bad, honestly I've always loved NMIXX releases but I didn't expect them to make a song like blue valentine cause it didn't seem like the type of song they'll make for a tt but honestly I love it, it's so good and it has been on REPEAT for me, I hope they make more songs like this submitted by /u/hearts4him_ [link] [comments]

Recently, I've noticed that there are a lot of social media posts defending Lucas and saying that he was proven innocent. And what's worse than he is being compared to Seunghan, with people claiming that they hope Seunghan is not is not benched the way Lucas is. But isn't Lucas proven to be an asshole? Wasn't it proven that he cheated on multiple women, pressured them to have sex with him, and abandoned a cat? Didn't his Chinese fansites shut down? And if he was innocent would he not have come back? For example, Soojin came back as a solo artist under a different agency. And it's not like Lucas was unpopular. On the contrary, he was one of the most popular members and was part of some of the most popular songs in NCT. But he hasn't been back, which proves that he's probably not innocent. So why are so many people defending him? Am I going missing something? Please explain to me like I'm five. submitted by /u/Downtown-Book3105 [link] [comments]

Personally, I love so many idols instagram feeds! Rei, Ningning, Giselle, Chuu, Yves, Nayeon, Yunjin, they're all so curated and specific to each idol. I love how their feed can be a reflection of them, and a time capsule for all their precious moments. Which idol do you think has your favourite instagram feed? I'm curious! submitted by /u/0x1trinity [link] [comments]
