Ever since the "Fiesta" era when she was in Iz*One, everyone was losing weight consistently ever since, specially Wonyoung who didn't' need to begin with. She was literally a tween. Then BAM she debuted in IVE which allegedly she was between 40-45kg between this 4 years, EVERYONE was talking about how she was starting too look emancipated not long ago but also a lot of these people were praising for her "Discipline" (VERY ed coded) and being stable on performances bc let's be honest, how she was getting on that Stage and dance for 2H straight? And now people are saying she gained too much? Comparing her to her members specially Liz and Rei? Is this really necessary? No wonder she barely shows emotions and try to follow the script of an idol all the time. No matter how she works on her skills, people will always praise for her beauty so honestly why even try? I know her entire career is based on her visuals and stuff, and she's getting THAT bag so I'm not trying to picture her as the "Oh, poor pretty rich girl". But let's remember Sulli, Goo Hara, Jonghyun and many others who once were the "Pretty and hot rich people" that was getting constant hate over the internet, and money won't buy your inner piece. Praise for her for not having a breakdown ever or at least never being allegedly to. submitted by /u/0110I1I [link] [comments]

This might be a dumb question but I came across a 3rd Gen edit recently and the question popped in my mind. I felt this way about 2nd Gen so I was wondering if 4th-5th Gen fans ever feel a certain way when past generations are brought up. Do you guys ever feel like you missed out or other similar feelings arise when you see edits about them or people talking about it? I’m curious to know. submitted by /u/Top-Examination-599 [link] [comments]
i was watching kpop choreographies i used to be obsesssed with and play by chungha came up and i need to talk about it idk if it was the side of the internet i was on but people did not like this song when it first released which is so deeply upsetting cause its such a summer time banger but song (AS SPECTACULAR AS IT IS) is infinitely better when you watch the choreography like this choreography is so beautiful and has such diverse styles of dance throughout it, it is IMPOSSIBLE not to dance along when you listen to it i cannot believe this song was released in the dead middle of quarantine this deserves to be performed at festivals if you haven't seen the choreography before: https://youtu.be/5q07nwt4Gc8?si=uyNPLv85analrQ9m submitted by /u/ot7oclock [link] [comments]
I don’t know if i’m the only one heavily disturbed by the content/messages being shared on X. These include 2 videos of Lucy from woo!ah! vaping, and multiple messages of her expressing her hatred for the members, the company (fair enough), the fans and how she wants them all to die. She name-dropped every single member and continued by saying that they all have a good image but they’re all fakes. She also said that she wished for the group to disband as nobody is motivated in doing activities anymore. For all we could know this could be fabricated, but in instances like these, they end up being true for the most part. I don’t know what to think, i’m still in shock, as the girls all seemed to have a good relationship, and Lucy especially was very kind and outgoing to fans. I’m worried about how this could change the outcome of the group overall. Thoughts on this? https://x.com/giftforwooah_00/status/1961410869692334566?s=46 submitted by /u/Dependent-Corner-123 [link] [comments]

Fans love to say they support body positivity, but the truth is, attention and praise mostly come after idols lose weight. It seems like fandoms only celebrate “body positivity” when it comes packaged in a way that aligns with what’s considered attractive, rather than truly supporting idols of all shapes and sizes as they claim they do. submitted by /u/AnxiousPace162 [link] [comments]
During 'Amazing Saturday' recording Key was trying to turn off his phone because it was ringing so much than normal (from people congratulating him😂) when he found out he won 1st on music bank, he didn't get to attend the ending stage because of this schedule. Key's reaction has gone viral on different social media platforms, multiple tweets on twitter all over million views and Instagram and tiktok! Mind you this is his 2nd win for Hunter which makes his reaction so much more precious and touching, I am a proud fan, a proud lilfreak, not for the win but for the gratitude he expressed! submitted by /u/KingStan-erIXI [link] [comments]
Am I the only one who thinks the amount of hate this movie is getting doesn’t make any sense? I want to clarify that it is fine if you don’t like the movie. That is not what I mean. But so many people are acting like it’s literally unfair and an insult that this movie has been so successful. I don’t understand that, especially considering that real people worked on this project for years, including real singers, AI wasn’t even involved. Some people act like this movie was made with zero effort. I get that whenever something becomes popular, there will always be those who say it is overrated or does not deserve its success. I am used to that. But I find it really strange and honestly hilarious how expecially kpop stans (more than locals) completely lose it over this movie. Personally, I watched the movie and enjoyed it. I’m not a fan and fandom. But when I saw this movie getting so much success, I was just like, “Okay, cool!” and moved on with my life. Some kpop stans, though, are literally crashing out over this, people saying “I’M SO TIRED WITH THIS MOVIE” and stuff like this even worse. submitted by /u/ForceApprehensive597 [link] [comments]

Bighit released their documentary today on the Hybe Labels youtube channel and let me tell you...THEM BOYS ARE BADDDDDD🔥🔥👏👏 Like they remind me of the times in kpop when it was normal for groups to help write their music and help with production and so on. These days groups just have a good looking face, a "goofy personality" and can dance, but thats it frfr These boys are really really setting the tone for how kpop artists should be. They remind me of early and I'll even say current BTS in a way. I've been a ARMY for 7 years. I've seen it all when it comes to BTS and their art craft called music CORTIS are doing things their way and in a gen-z way, but are bringing those real artists vibe that we dont see much nowadays in kpop In the documentary the boys was coming up with choreography, producing on their laptops, constantly writing lyrics, coming up with concepts for their songs and shooting their own music videos WITH THEIR PHONE and even directing/editing it all You can take a look your selves: Episode 1 https://youtu.be/v1d4Rj1pnMY?si=5ScNuYGcWJPSV50Y Episode 2 https://youtu.be/o_WOlIxOZDs?si=-ukKbkZ8MoRFZyZW Episode 3 https://youtu.be/VrFDKz2eo0I?si=EW86BLf5VgSpf4na Episode 4 https://youtu.be/W3xhrW33qCI?si=-Dcroh158N39PLZe Mark my words, CORTIS will be seen as real artists and will be more than kpop, watch. They WILL be big! submitted by /u/Serious_Twist5411 [link] [comments]

Why do fans always feel the need to always defend an idol? Idols are human, humans make mistakes and have faults like everyone else. You are not helping them by making excuses and brushing off something they did wrong as not a big deal. It's okay to admit what they did was problematic and should apologize. You can like someone but still call them out and no that doesn't mean you're a "hater" or whatever. This mentality that someone can do no wrong and is always perfect is silly. There is nothing wrong with stanning someone but also recognizing if they have something wrong. You don't have to defend someone you don't know all the time, you don't have to keep making excuses for them and you can still like them but recognize what they did was wrong. submitted by /u/BBAomega [link] [comments]
As someone who has been in this kpop hyperfocus for 3 years, is it really? Because I don’t wanna leave this “world” lets say it like this, and that is something that people have been talking for a while I see some people say they left in 4 years or 1 year, and then people saying they’ve been like that for 11 years submitted by /u/Mysterious-Usual-397 [link] [comments]
We all know the legendary ones who steal the spotlight and rightfully get brought up in discussions constantly. The ones like Taemin, Kai, etc. But who are the idols who shine on their own but get talked about less, maybe cuz they’re in a group with one of those legendary members? Here are some of my picks: SVT Woozi. Doesn’t get talked about as much cuz Hoshi is the star, but Woozi absolutely kills it on stage. His expressions are on point. He was the first to catch my eye. P1H Intak. His confidence is so visible on stage but i rarely hear his name brought up in conversation. Also his rapping comes thru SO strong and crisp every time!! Winner Yoon. It’s hard to outswag Mino. But Yoon is so entertaining to watch in his own right. He always looks like he’s having fun while effortlessly belting crazy high notes. submitted by /u/Lilac-Soul [link] [comments]

Hi! I have been an ARMY since 2022 and had no exposure to the Korean industry prior to that. Since joining the fandom, I have seen the bunch being DRAGGED for everything. Whether it is the BTS doing something, BigHit, related people, ARMYs are dragged by EVERYONE including the company a lot of times. Can someone explain to me why? It seems as though the bunch has told them off as they have been appreciated as and when needed which is quite rare to see in fandoms generally even outside of K-pop.They are witty and often discuss issues that affect the world in general. Even so, somehow THEY are blamed for things they have no control over or have ever asked to do. It is a fandom that has more fans from abroad than SK and are opinionated yes, in all the right ways but pretty chill and straightforward. They clearly outline in pointers how they feel about certain things BTS or otherwise and are clearly intelligent and intellectual, yet a narrative plays. Why? submitted by /u/Healthy-Prize-8679 [link] [comments]
Many people still respond to ragebaiters, it only encourages their behavior. Please stop replying to them, as they thrive on the attention. It's abominable to see people comment "Next X" in response to these ragebaiters, especially considering the impact it has on idols/actors/actresses who have passed away. submitted by /u/freezerkeeper [link] [comments]
When a dating rumor comes out and the idol denies it, do they actually tell the truth? Or is it just a lie to protect the image? I’m new to kpop and I Stan aespa, so recently I watched the jungwon and winter rumor. I saw that jungwon denied it. I’m not talking specifically about them, but in general. Wouldn’t an idol lie just to protect his image? Is just pr? Or they actually don’t date and they tell the truth??? We could never know how they actually are, we just see what they show to us. I also learned about the seungri scandal. submitted by /u/Alternative_Mud_1145 [link] [comments]
