┏━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┓ Hey everyone, today Hybe debuts their third-ever boy group, one that a friend on Discord has been hyping up. The last time Hybe debuted a new group not from a sub-label was in 2019, when TXT entered the scene. I remember enjoying the TXT debut as I had it on repeat like crazy that year. Today I’m curious to see what Cortis has in store for us with their first-ever project. Go! Go! is the opening song on the project, a pop-trap tune that is centered around a vibey beat that blends wonderfully with the members. There are vocal effects on the members’ voices that help them blend into the instrumental. The hook is pretty catchy as it’s one repetitive section, but it still works for this type of trap tune. The rapping is pretty decent, flowing wonderfully with the vibe that the producers crafted. What You Want/What You Want (feat. Teezo Touchdown) The second song on the album was the pre-release track, giving us two versions. An original version and a Teezo Touchdown version. A guitar opens up the track, bringing in the bouncy vibe that fits this group so well. The smooth vocal fits with the vibe of the instrumental that has been pulling me back since it was pre-released. The hook has grown on me as it’s starting to get stuck in my head. In the collaboration version, Teezo comes in for the second verse, fitting perfectly as that version has been on repeat a little more than the original. I find both versions of the track to be enjoyable as I’ve been coming back to them when I remember to do so. The vocals are processed to the max, but they fit the vibe that the producers craft. I love the rapping as it fits with the boucy trap beat that keeps pulling me back since I first heard it. The more I hear this tune, the more I can see a version of this with Sik-k on it, which would slap. The instrumental is way too chill, feeling a little dull as nothing much happens in the beat to make this tune stick with me. The vocals are decent not do much to help elevate this tune at all. The hook is pretty forgettable, as I don’t remember it even though I’ve heard this tune a few times. I don’t mind the chill nature this tune brings to the table, but the instrumental makes it hard for me to get through this track. The song goes at a slow pace, making it feel like this tune goes on forever. The vocals are decent, but don’t do much to elevate the tune like they should. The guitar melody is pleasant, but it’s not enough to make me like this tune. Go! opens up the album with a bouncy. pop-trap beat that does a great job opening up the project. Lullaby is the closer, and it’s so uninteresting that it doesn’t close out the album in a strong way like the way Go! opens up the record. The pre-release single What You Want got me excited for this project, and the Teezo version was a great version to add to the album.
