83. Some fans really can’t handle the truth about MV views

  • reddit.com language

It’s kinda funny, honestly. I made a comment saying BamBam’s new MV views are mostly from ads and got instantly downvoted by Ahgases 😂 I didn’t even mean it in a hateful way. There were already posts in this subreddit questioning why the engagement ratios (likes/comments) don’t match the huge view count, so I just added some context. Many people were defensive saying things like “people don’t like or comment much anymore,” or that the numbers are high because of the kiss scene, the popular actress, or the whole of Thailand backing him. I get that, but the data just doesn’t back it up. If you look at Youtube Weekly Top Music Video Chart (Oct 10–16), Bambam’s MV is not even charting there and it's a global chart, meaning Thailand’s views are counted too. The lowest entry on the chart (#100) has around 4.1M+ views, so if he’s not on the chart, that means his real organic views are below that. That’s not an accusation, it’s literally how youtube charts work. Paid/ad views don’t count there, only organic views counted. There’s nothing wrong with using ads either as it’s a promo strategy, and many (not all) artists do it. It helps with visibility, especially for global exposure. But pretending those are all organic views or denying anyone who points it out doesn’t change the numbers. It doesn’t mean he’s not successful, it just means most of the views heavily depend on ads, which is totally fine. I just wish some fans could accept data without taking it as an insult 😅 https://preview.redd.it/gvhbfc3933wf1.jpg?width=1085&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6119f882a196702b6b2ee8b7716a6aa74f685e40 https://preview.redd.it/b9taqr8m33wf1.jpg?width=1252&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=95672109d733a8d603329dfe4b084f88f8e9cb62 submitted by /u/fxdydx [link] [comments]

91. Least hated / most universally respected kpop idols?

  • 22 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Not least hated bc people simply don't know them (yet) but least hated bc most of the kpop world seems to agree that they're atleast respectable artists. Curious about this bc I feel like with practically all idols the second they gain any amount of popularity, they'll simultaneously gain a bunch of antis. For every post praising them you can find other posts calling them overrated, stans dragging them into fanwars, chronically online people overanalyzing their behavior for online points etc. Are there any idols who are truly universally beloved in the kpop sphere? submitted by /u/OkCauliflower7443 [link] [comments]

93. Why are STAYs calling Changbin’s body “abs”?

  • 22 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Hey guys, I’ve been a STAY since 2019, and honestly, it’s kind of wild seeing how the fandom has changed. Lately, people seem way too focused on SKZ torso reveals, and it feels a bit weird. So yesterday at that SKZ event/concert in Korea, Changbin revealed his body — and instantly people on X and Instagram started saying things like “He finally showed his abs!” But honestly, I don’t think those are abs. It looks like he’s bulking, which totally makes sense considering how much he trains and lifts. It’s a strong build, not necessarily a defined one. I just wish people would talk about it more normally instead of turning it into something sexual or exaggerated. Not every body reveal has to be labeled as “abs”. submitted by /u/shmonya3 [link] [comments]

95. I think the distance between Wonyoung and Yujin comes more from Yujin’s side

  • 22 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

People always say “Wonyoung loves Yujin” or “Wonyoung secretly hates her,” but I’ve watched them since Produce 48 and honestly, I think it’s the other way around. Back then, Yujin was Starship’s ace - confident, centre-like, and treated as the future face of the company. But then Wonyoung’s popularity skyrocketed, she won #1, became IZ*ONE’s and later IVE’s centre, and turned into the nation’s “it girl.” Yujin herself once said she’s very competitive, and I think that plays a part. It must sting a little to see someone younger, who wasn’t even Starship’s main trainee ,surpass you in every public aspect. I don’t think Yujin dislikes Wonyoung, but that competitiveness might be why we sometimes see a quiet distance now. submitted by /u/narcissawhite [link] [comments]

99. I love IVE’s new lightstick design. It's better than the old one.

  • 23 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

IVE just dropped their new lightstick design and it’s a huge upgrade from the old one. The heart flask look fits their princessy and elegant image. The handle could’ve been nicer but overall it still looks really good. Tbh, the V2 kind of gives off Precure wand vibes. I never bought the V1 lightstick because of that globe shape with the logo inside, it just looked super generic to me. I can’t wait to buy the V2 lightstick. What do you guys think about the V2 lightstick? submitted by /u/sundaepetals [link] [comments]

101. Is mouthwash part of an idol’s routine, and are teleprompters common in K-pop?

  • 23 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I find that people rarely bring this up, but I’m kind of curious about this issue. It comes down to the idols’ daily routine. As the title of the post stated, is mouthwash considered part of the idols cosmetics? especially for female idols. I saw a couple of videos of them eating backstage, they were eating foods such as noodles, rice balls, and sushi, and I came across comments saying that some of them ate before their performances. So right after they finish their snacks, do they do anything to freshen up before they go on stage, or they just simply proceed without doing so. Since they will be singing into the microphone, it is likely that, once they have finished, the microphone will be passed to the next performing idols, I don't know if this will cause an issue. Also, It may not be limited to performances only. During other activities too such as meet and greet, events, variety shows etc where the idols talk and interact with people or fans, I wonder whether the use of mouthwash is also part of their regular preparatory routine that they bring everywhere. I suspect it is maybe their common routine as the companies will push hard for their idols to look as flawless as possible, but I don’t really know for sure yet. The second thing is, the teleprompter issue. As we all know, being an idol can be challenging, you have to sing and dance at the same time and you have to do it perfectly, and it's not impossible that the idols could messes up the lyrics. I’m not aware of this yet, but I’m curious if the use of a teleprompter is common in K-pop? if it's not, then from the audience pov, I personally don't mind the used of it on stage, I think it's better than the idols butchering every song, and if it could maintain or even improve their performances, I guess why not? submitted by /u/Gullible-Distance594 [link] [comments]
