3.238. Recap: I-LAND was both crazy and inspiring

  • 1 month ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

A few days ago, Jungwon said that I-LAND is worth watching after all. After years of both I-LAND and &Team cringing about the show, it seems like they finally appreciate the past. For the past few months, we’ve had both &Team and Enhypen members dance “Into the I-LAND” during Weverse lives which is so nostalgic. So I think we can talk about the good parts now lol. I know the show was psychologically heavy for both the members and the audience but personally, it was crazy inspiring too. Let's talk about the good sides. 1. The ambition of the I-Landers Ambition, desperation, and hunger on another level. This was one of the craziest parts of the show. It really pushed the I-Landers into this mental state where it was do-or-die. This caused some of them to surpass their limits and have a breakthrough. 2. The crazy stack of talent in 23 trainees They were crazy good for trainees. The performances weren’t perfect but you could see the amount of effort and heart they put into it. From the very first episode where they did pair/ individual auditions, you could already see everyone's potential and most of them did not miss. Some had dancing, singing, or appeal and it was magentic right off the bat. Whenever I think about I-LAND, their trainees were so stacked with talent. And what they lacked in talent, they made up with pure grit and heart. 3. Surpassed their limits Some trainees were strong contenders from the start like K and Heeseung. But then you could see the people who bloomed right in the middle like Sunghoon who was underestimated as a performer just because he was a figure skater. And Jay for being passed on from having lines. And Sunoo because he didn’t fit the dark atmosphere of the show but he had strengths no one else had. There's also Nicholas and Hanbin who started to shine in the middle of the show for their amazing talents in dancing and vocals respectively. Those at the "bottom" didn't accept their fate and fought like hell to improve. Their determination was scary and inspiring. 4. The mental resilience I could talk about this forever because so many trainees exhibited this. Ni-ki was in the Ground most of the time. He was a maknae, leader, and competitor who only knew 4 months worth of Korean but he led the Grounders despite being only 14 years old. Heeseung was a top contender, but he was cornered so many times and burned by the politics. He was so damn kind every time. He supported and helped everyone. He listened humbly and matured several times as a leader. At his lowest, he still chose to be kind. Sunoo and Jay were affected several times by the politics but they were crazy resilient too. Both of them bounced back in a snap and didn't give in to the pressure. Sunoo reacted with confidence and used his strengths. Jay took his frustration and transformed it into effort. Hanbin finished the show with class and grace by giving an iconic last performance. K also grew from the feedback from his I-Landers and made a breakthrough as a leader. 5. Inspiring Like I said at the start, this show inspires me like crazy. Watching the choices they made and the effort they put in for their dreams made me question how far am I willing to work for mine? It was a show with a wide variety of dancers, singers, and strong personalities that just blew away the audience. It was a crazy stack. Their talents took them far, but what made the show so amazing was how inspiring all of the trainees are. What was the moment that left the biggest impression on you? What about I-LAND impressed you or moved you? submitted by /u/Desire-Untold [link] [comments]

For Red Velvet, it obviously has to be Psycho. I wonder if any other fandoms have that one comeback that everyone worships and every subsequent release will be compared to? submitted by /u/DowntownFee1 [link] [comments]

3.243. ITZY talking about not winning music shows.

(Rough translations from bubble) For context: This was like two weeks ago, but I just saw Lia's message and I felt so sad 😭 They lost the win because of broadcasting points, but MIDZYS managed to get 1.7 million or so votes and they still ended up not winning. Itzy are so lovely I hope they get a win next time, they deserve it so much 💔 Lia: Also, even though I was a bit hesitant to say it directly! Since MIDZYs seemed really sorry, let me just say! No!!! I really don’t want you to feel sorry at all and I don’t want you to feel upset either!!! The support you gave us today was more precious and touching than even getting 1st place!! ㅎㅎ Seriously!! On the contrary, we know how much heart and effort you put into voting for us, so we feel sorry. But you know, sometimes circumstances and results can’t always stay the same, they change! What doesn’t change is the fact that we all waited for this comeback together, prepared so hard for it and now we’re having an amazing and joyful time because of it!!! Thanks to MIDZY, today was a really great day 😊 MIDZYs felt that too, right?! Chaeryeong: MIDZY, thank you so much for today as well! MIDZY must have been really sad because they knew that they voted really hard. Sorry is a rainbow reflection We are more grateful and sorry.. Thank you so much! We talked about how loud the cheering was during the live broadcast when we came down from the stage for a long time!! I was so touched. We're enjoying our promotion with a lot of support and love from MIDZY, so I hope MIDZY can have a happy day while watching us! These days, I'm so amazed and thankful that I'm receiving this much love. I'll keep trying to give it back to you 🫶 I love you, MIDZY ❤️ Yeji: I was upset to hear MIDZY voted so hard!!!!! But just that feeling is enough and I an so thankful. It felt so good 🖤 Yuna: I'm sorry and thankful that all I can do is laugh hard and dance. But I was so happy to make eye contact with MIDZY and smile. submitted by /u/Gold_Meaning3688 [link] [comments]

3.244. Ryeowook is such an underrated vocalist for all his talent

  • 1 month ago schedule

Yesterday he released a cover of him singing Kpop Demon Hunters' Golden, and I'm of course biased because he's my favourite idol ever but it just reminded me again of really just how much of a talented singer he is, with one of the most unique and powerful voices out there. And in Super Junior's Killing Voice too from a week ago - he was quite literally the star of the show. He has such a distinct vocal colour, is phenomenally stable when he's singing live (I always prefer him singing live than studio recordings) and his solo discography never fails to blow me away. I remember when the Drunk on Love mini album came out and Drunk in the morning (the title track) gave me so much chills, he's really such a talented singer who delivers emotion so well and strives to constantly improve. Even in SJ's newest album released two weeks ago, I'd say he got a lot of the best lines that shows off his talent the most. He's in KRY which is agreed to be one of the best vocal lines in kpop, but even among fandom spaces he tends to be overlooked because he's objectively not as popular as Kyuhyun or Yesung, even though I'd argue he's only surpassed by KH. Anyways go and listen to his last comeback It's okay (SM Classics Live performance). I really hope he releases a full-length album for his 10th anniversary next year !! submitted by /u/admiralmasa [link] [comments]

So as the title already states, I’m a new Kpop fan and I wanted to discover some more groups and songs! I currently Stan Stray Kids and Ateez and there are a few other groups that I listen to occasionally (Enhypen and Xikers for example) so I wanted to try listening to some other groups as well! You can tell me the song titles and I’ll listen to them and then give a rating once I’m done :) submitted by /u/yskiravol [link] [comments]
