I'm wondering who would be good picks as hosts for the weekly music programs, I'm quite new to kpop but I've been enjoying the friendly banter shown between duos especially on Music Bank. submitted by /u/peppermintdood [link] [comments]
IVE's XOXZ features it heavily, Aespa's teaser had them in a truck bowling alley, KiiKii's Strawberry Cheesegame has it in the M/V, and a couple days ago Le Sserafim put out a video of them going bowling. There could be more that I'm not aware of but this is a lot of bowling for a short amount of time! This is just a weird trend I noticed and I'm so curious if it's a coincidence or if this is like, some wonderful niche cultural thing for this time of year or something. submitted by /u/BloodChicken [link] [comments]
I'm curious about the academic lives of the BTS members, especially during their early years. We often hear about how they supported each other professionally, but I was wondering about their personal lives. Did Jin, as the oldest member, ever help the younger ones with their school or university studies? It would be interesting to hear any stories or quotes about him helping the others with their homework or assignments. Thanks for any insights you can share! submitted by /u/StrictPrize2040 [link] [comments]
The main chorus started with "I'll make your mind go Tornado" I started swaying my hips on my bed lmao. Honestly this beat to me feels so summer coded & I love how this girl is so passionate about music, letting fans be a part of her song snippets time & again. I remember hearing the Dopamine chorus the first time and I just couldn't help grooving to it too! I downloaded a botched tour audio to listen to until they released it finally. That seems to be the case again lol cause her solos are a hit for me since first listen! Her vocals are so dreamy and entracing, she really made my mind go tornado! Also she seems so happy to be performing this! I hope this is on streaming soon! And I'm so so desperate for her solo debut cause she's a very talented all rounder & enjoys the process of creating music & sharing it with Aerishines! Hope she can be free of SM sabotaging & have a fun and great solo career in future! submitted by /u/No_Olive_229 [link] [comments]

Considering how packed and overworked their schedule has been this year, It makes me think next year they will focus more on individual careers and scale back on group activities. Since they’re entering their 5th year, I think they deserve stronger solo pushes from SM. At the same time, SM probably starts positioning H2H as their main GG with better promotions and resources. The way their team is handling things is holding them back. Katseye could easily stand out as the first girl group formed through K-pop methods but built to be truly global. On top of that, their biggest strength is obvious: the girls themselves. They’re cool, relatable, and connect naturally with their generation. That’s why people are drawn to them. But the marketing doesn’t highlight that at all. Instead, almost every interview or promo falls back on the same boring “we’re diverse and global” line. It’s repetitive and comes across as corporate PR instead of letting the girls show who they are. Their personalities are interesting, funny, and genuine, yet the company wastes opportunities by flattening them into sales pitches. They could talk about their artistry, experiences, and goals, but instead we just hear about their nationalities for the hundredth time. You see this problem in both eras: at debut and now with their viral moments. The biggest complaint from people outside K-pop has always been the music. The debut song felt dated for the Western market they were aiming at. Then Touchwent viral but sounded like typical K-pop despite the “global” branding. The constant switching in sound, with no cohesion, makes their discography feel like a pile of random songs. That doesn’t help attract casual listeners or Western audiences who aren’t already invested in the members. Gnarly was the one time critics and music people in the West actually praised them—it showed the path forward. But the next single went right back to sounding like something generic that could have been given to anyone. The “global diversity” angle also feels overplayed. In K-pop it’s a novelty, but in the Western market diversity has always been the standard. Most big girl groups in the US have been diverse for decades. What makes Katseye different is that they’re truly multinational, not just diverse in background. That’s impressive, but the company’s obsession with pushing this narrative makes it feel shallow instead of natural. Katseye are at their best when they’re treated as real artists and real people, not a “global experiment.” That’s why Gnarlyhit the way it did. In these early years, the focus should be on building their sound and identity, not forcing concepts or empty PR. Dropping Gabriela so early highlighted this problem, it felt disconnected from the group’s core and way too soon for such a big shift in direction. If they want to incorporate their cultures, it should be thoughtful and intentional, like how K-pop groups wait a few years before rolling out solos or sub-units. They’d be so much stronger if marketed like the classic friend groups we grew up with—Bratz, Winx, even Lego Friends—where each girl has her own personality and story, and together they feel like a natural, fun, diverse group of friends. Their cultures and identities will always be part of that, but it shouldn’t overshadow their individuality as people. Otherwise, it starts to feel tokenizing. And honestly, as minorities in the West we’ve been saying for years how frustrating it is when characters are reduced only to their background instead of being allowed to just exist and grow. Katseye deserves better than that. submitted by /u/bayblade333 [link] [comments]

This is all hypothetical and very unlikely to happen, but if they did comeback, do you see them sticking to their previous concept or them going for something like 'Pit Stop'. I liked Pit Stop and it kind of reminds me of aespa's bad ass concept but I don't really see them going in that direction as its such a 180 from what they did before and aespa are just that good at that concept. Furthermore, do you think their next cb would be as big as a hit as their previous ones? submitted by /u/Impossible_Cable_862 [link] [comments]
