So after Grid Ent. announced Leo (ex-Trainee A) signed with them, and suddenly people online started celebrating like we all forgot why he left the industry in the first place. Let’s get the facts straight: Leo didn’t step back because of “industry mistreatment.” He left because people were horrified by his own lyrics. He wrote and uploaded a rap about strangling a woman who wanted his money. This wasn’t edgy teenage rebellion - he was 19, a legal adult, and he chose to share it proudly. these were his lyrics btw: ain't nobody gon tell me why that b***h stopped breathing f*** that h** in my bank, yeah that sh** stopped breathing tell that b***h, took that b***h to the store ain't nobody gon tell me why that b***h stopped breathing ain't nobody gon tell me why that b***h stopped breathing f*** that h** in my bank, yeah that sh** stopped breathing There were more I think but I can't find them Now, here’s where it gets frustrating. Hannah Bahng publicly defended him on X: “i would never be friends with a misogynist. … i had an in depth convo with him abt this when we first interacted and if you knew the whole story you would see him in the same light i see him.” This was manipulative for a few reasons: “Don’t judge based on what you hear online” – girl, we didn’t hear rumors. We heard the actual lyrics from his mouth. This wasn’t gossip, it was evidence. “If you knew the whole story…” – what “story” could possibly make fantasizing about choking a woman okay? That framing made fans feel like they were being irrational when in reality, we weren’t misunderstanding anything. Saying “I’d never be friends with a misogynist” while defending a guy who literally put misogyny into his art doesn’t add up. Of course Leo isn’t going to act misogynistic in a one-on-one chat with her — that’s not how misogyny presents itself. Here’s the thing like people can change. If Leo truly had grown, then the right move would’ve been to acknowledge his mistake, admit the lyrics were violent and harmful, and show accountability. But instead, his defenders acted like nothing happened and painted critics as “judgmental.” That isn’t growth that’s just erasure. Its bizarre seeing how much hate Chan gets over the smallest, most baseless controversies, while Hannah went out of her way to excuse Leo’s misogynistic lyrics and shift blame onto the fans for “not knowing him." and people were then piling on Chan for something he had nothing to do with? Ofcourse the day he publicly supports Leo I'm out of the fandom but rn he hasn't and there's no reason to hate him. Saying “he was just 19” also doesn’t fly. 19 is an adult. Being upset or angry doesn’t make it normal to fantasize about killing women. Writing and posting those lyrics revealed the person he was at the time, and pretending it was just a “misunderstanding” is insulting to everyone who took issue with it. At the end of the day, good looks and second chances shouldn’t erase the fact that Leo put out a track bragging about killing women. That was the issue then, and it still is now. And Hannah’s attempt to gaslight fans into thinking they were overreacting only made the whole thing worse. And I keep seeing sudden love for this guy who literally fantasized about choking women, all because he was "in a bad mood" (?? wtf) like be fr are the people who voted for him 12? submitted by /u/Any_Contribution8287 [link] [comments]
I can't get over how weird it is that these videos seem to be such a popular phenomenon right now. We all sometimes have that 'sense' that something is up, and yes that sometimes applies to certain idols. But announcing to the world that a certain idol gives you creep vibes (yes that seems to be a common word thrown around in the comments) without any indication of this being true is WEIRD. Like straight up weird and disgusting. Most of the time the idols being named haven't done anything significant and are just being named because they're the current topic of conversation or the certain person commenting that has a weird vendetta against them. Again, having those thoughts can happen, but you don't need to announce them to the world. More than anything I despise the people that post these videos because you know damn well you're only inviting hate in the comments. Like spare me the 'this post isn't meant to hate on idols' shit, that's literally the only thing you're getting by making a post like that. submitted by /u/Due_Improvement_5699 [link] [comments]

There is an ongoing trend with sea fans majority indonesian fans that use ai to create intimate pics with idols. Yesterday, Cortis fans have called out some fans doing this edit towards Keonho who is a minor, as well as Ian of h2h. And now, some crazy fans follow suit and is making this a trend. This is why AI should never be a thing coz imagine the weird things people do to feed their fantasies... submitted by /u/behindsomewalls [link] [comments]

So I decided to go ahead & make a YT channel to post Kpop playlists, I find that rlly fun & I have a TON already planned bc I was overflowing with ideas for so long!😍 One of those ideas was making compilation playlists for Kpop groups! I already started planning some, those being my top favorite groups, as youd expect, but I would like to know what groups yall would like to see! 🩷 Done/being done: Ive Twice Illit Itzy Lesserafim Red velvet StayC TXT Gfriend Babymonster Rules: any artist is welcome, solo or group, as long as theyre Kpop! Solo/unit projects are excluded, except if they are appart of a group album/ep; Japanese or English releases wont be includes & will have a seperate playlist! 🩵 submitted by /u/d33pblushxy [link] [comments]
It's kind of hard to change label you debuted in unless your white (Taylor Swift, Post Malone). Kpop used as genre rather than an industry to much. It's typically kpop group rather than kpop pop rock or kpop hip hop. But the groups are rather fluid in genre and concepts so I understand why kpop mostly used in addition to powerful label since 1st Hallyu Wave. It seems very weird to complain about western shows grouping kpop idols but kpop awards shows or news group all kpop idols the same. Most categories are broad see “Best K-pop Album” or “Best Male Group” with only occasional side awards like “Best Dance Performance” or “Best Hip-Hop Performance.” That reinforces “K-pop” as a single block. Afrobeats faced a similar issue: the VMAs gave South African singer Tyla two Afrobeats awards, sparking debate about who defines the genre. And it doesnt help that fans still discuss them in these very public kpop spaces. For example if Rose isnt kpop. Rose shouldn't be in any Twitter posts, campaign, etc related to any other kpop artists. Compare her to Taylor Swift. Same with BTS, Katseye or Blackpink. If they are no longer kpop fans dont want them to be considered such then stop going to Twitter and comapring them to other kpop idols and groups. These labels, journalists, and other fans keep seeing them discussed on Twitter, reddit etc along with other Kpop idols but when it comes to Western media doing the same your confused. Talk about them in hip hop, pop, or r&b spaces and those spaces only. But many of the fans I feel like have kpop as only safe space and mostly because they want to put themselves above kpop idols so continue to do comparision with othe kpop idols rather than western ones like Taylor Swift. submitted by /u/kdramaddict15 [link] [comments]

Surely I’m not the only one caught off guard by what I’m assuming is Nana’s solo debut. Just casually scrolling thru IG and happened upon one of her latest posts. At first I was just assuming maybe it was for a magazine or just her being a spokesperson for a brand. But apparently not?!?? I don’t know what to expect but I’m excited. submitted by /u/Sensitive-Plant2902 [link] [comments]

1) when people post things regarding relationships of male idols , fans in comments say " I hope he is in a relationship he's pushing 30" , or " i would be disappointed if he did NOT have a gf" , so , isn't assuming something about a person ydk even if positively or negatively like wht BAD . And why do people appreciate it ???? It's not ok to assume ANYTHING about relationships and dating of idols . 2) people say " you think a man like __ is single with that face card!!!" , so does his personality not matter or wht 3) people watch variety shows and think tk every thing about the idol ,like he could be hiding something man , YOU DON'T KNOW HIM PERSONALLY. Also , whenever a new rapist comes out fans say "___ could never" Like wht yk them GUYS , EVEN THEIR PARENTS DID NOT KNOW THEY ARE CRIMINALS , YOU THINK YK?????? submitted by /u/yejioooo [link] [comments]
They have a LOT of hype on Twt, so I really thought they were going to put out an album or maybe an EP right after everything that went down in March to keep the momentum going, but so far, nothing? submitted by /u/IIIPrimeeIII [link] [comments]
