He said they used to get hit during dance practice if they did stuff wrong. He also said they dont do that anymore because that would be illegal and they would get in big trouble. Taehyun corroborated that story and also said companies dont do that anymore. This wasn't in the 1990s, this was around 2016... Im so disgusted right now submitted by /u/icouto [link] [comments]

258. Is it a website showing the idols being the most bia from each groups ?

  • 2 days ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I'm always curious to know which idol has the most popularity for each groups. Also, I really love when my bia isn't actually the most popular member of the group. Usually I tend to check by number of followers on insta, but I don't know if this is really accurate. Anyway if you could name one per group, who is the most popular for each of these groups : SNSD Wonder Girls AOA Tara Brown Eyed Girls Blackpink Twice Red Velvet Gidle Itzy Aespa -Babymonster Le Sserafim Billie Or any other groups you enjoy. submitted by /u/Cestlavieenrose999 [link] [comments]

259. Does Spotify has something against BTS' members??

  • reddit.com language

If you want to know about the Spotify Wrapped mess in 2022, here's the thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/bangtan/comments/zaash4/221202_jungkook_was_the_most_streamed_kpop/ This is about an incident that happened in 2022 when Jungkook was announced as the most streamed K-pop soloist in Spotify Wrapped, and hours later, they removed "Left & Right," a song he was featured in, from counting for his total streams, making another K-pop soloist the most streamed. The thing is, Jk and the other members were the only ones affected by this, and this wasn’t an error because if it were, more artists would be affected. If this rule were applied to every artist, j-hope would be the most streamed K-pop soloist, but he wasn’t. Then ARMYs called them out for being unfair, and they changed it again to Jk being the most streamed. It’s weird that they targeted only BTS members. Knowing the information above, Spotify's monthly stream deletion targeting mainly BTS members makes more sense to me. Both incidents happened without proper transparency, and it seems Spotify picks and chooses which artists will be affected by those "rules." From what we already know, they aren’t removing streams based on bots and cheating because there's no correlation between unfiltered and deleted streams. A K-pop group had over 10M+ unfiltered streams in July from a song, and none of it was removed. If they wanted to prevent cheating, they would just change their daily filtering system. What are your thoughts on this? Sorry if I sound like a conspiracist, but I find this whole situation weird. submitted by /u/Jumpy-Sign-7551 [link] [comments]

263. Do you think there will be an I-Land 3? And if so, which company would Mnet collab with?

  • 2 days ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

It's been on my mind lately and I feel sort of 50/50 about it. On one hand, both Iland seasons started as a collab specifically with Bighit/Hybe. Though that 2nd season fell through mid-way (with RUNext taking its place) due to differences between them, Mnet went ahead and involved The Black Label instead. This was a sweet deal for both with Wakeone getting a permanent group out of it and TBL getting to use it to expand their portfolio now that they're establising themselves as their own entity separate from "just" being YG's resident "indie label". But now that they have done all that, I could see them saying that the show has served its purpose and leaving it at that. On the other hand, this wasn't the first time Mnet was behind company-specific survival shows (Sixteen, Stray Kids (the show), No.Mercy...), and probably not the last. So when the next time comes, they will already have this franchise and facilities ready as one of the obvious options. (Even just thinking of that fancy building, it would be a waste to not utilize the location again.) For potential companies, they might also view it as a good idea to jump into an already known franchise. With the caveat that they would probably want the final group to be properly theirs instead of the split deal Wakeone and TBL have (with Izna being a W1-managed but TBL-produced group). The only way I could see that coming back is if TBL itself did another season, which is in the realm of possibility but idk... Or technically, Mnet and W1 or some other CJ label could also decide to just do it themselves. submitted by /u/Loud_Kaleidoscope818 [link] [comments]

272. Why is it okay for black people to say the N word?

  • 2 days ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

As we all know, whenever a kpop idol or a white person say the N word they get a ton of backlash (which is deserved) but whenever it's a black person everyone is okay with it? Like why are people okay with that? As far as I know, the N word is used to insult black people so why is it okay for a black person to use it when they are literally insulting themselves and other black people? Like I think everyone should get backlash for saying the N word, even black people because it is an insult submitted by /u/straykifsontop [link] [comments]

274. 💎 Hidden Gem of the Week: Chanmin (찬민) 💎

  • 2 days ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

One of my favorite things about diving deeper into K-pop is finding artists who quietly create masterpieces outside the mainstream spotlight. This week’s hidden gem is Chanmin, a young singer-songwriter and self-producer who’s been carving his own path since his 2022 debut. What makes Chanmin stand out is how much of his music he crafts himself, writing, composing, arranging, and even mixing. His debut album THEBLUETAPE was entirely self-produced, and since then he’s released the EP CINEMA (2024) and, just recently, the pre-release single “Parangseong (Sound of Waves)” in July 2025. https://open.spotify.com/artist/1O1BXOtl5jWeZJIkSwNMBi?si=c1-6I5exSg6twmUI5JYuKQ “Parangseong” is a great entry point, it feels both gentle and powerful, like a tide slowly pulling you in. His sound is emotive and layered, never flashy but always sincere, and it really highlights how indie-minded artists within K-pop can offer something unique and refreshing. Despite his artistry, he’s still flying under the radar, around 38k monthly listeners and a few solo concerts under his belt so it feels like the perfect time to share him as a hidden gem before more people catch on. 👉 Have you heard Chanmin’s music before? What do you think of “Parangseong”? 👉 More broadly, who’s another underrated solo artist you’d consider a hidden gem right now? submitted by /u/Positive_Glass_442 [link] [comments]
