As we all know, whenever a kpop idol or a white person say the N word they get a ton of backlash (which is deserved) but whenever it's a black person everyone is okay with it? Like why are people okay with that? As far as I know, the N word is used to insult black people so why is it okay for a black person to use it when they are literally insulting themselves and other black people? Like I think everyone should get backlash for saying the N word, even black people because it is an insult submitted by /u/straykifsontop [link] [comments]

One of my favorite things about diving deeper into K-pop is finding artists who quietly create masterpieces outside the mainstream spotlight. This week’s hidden gem is Chanmin, a young singer-songwriter and self-producer who’s been carving his own path since his 2022 debut. What makes Chanmin stand out is how much of his music he crafts himself, writing, composing, arranging, and even mixing. His debut album THEBLUETAPE was entirely self-produced, and since then he’s released the EP CINEMA (2024) and, just recently, the pre-release single “Parangseong (Sound of Waves)” in July 2025. https://open.spotify.com/artist/1O1BXOtl5jWeZJIkSwNMBi?si=c1-6I5exSg6twmUI5JYuKQ “Parangseong” is a great entry point, it feels both gentle and powerful, like a tide slowly pulling you in. His sound is emotive and layered, never flashy but always sincere, and it really highlights how indie-minded artists within K-pop can offer something unique and refreshing. Despite his artistry, he’s still flying under the radar, around 38k monthly listeners and a few solo concerts under his belt so it feels like the perfect time to share him as a hidden gem before more people catch on. 👉 Have you heard Chanmin’s music before? What do you think of “Parangseong”? 👉 More broadly, who’s another underrated solo artist you’d consider a hidden gem right now? submitted by /u/Positive_Glass_442 [link] [comments]

MASSIVE ENC appears not to have operated as a fully independent subsidiary. Evidence suggests that ablume members have been managed by The Givers/ASI from the very beginning, despite MASSIVE ENC being presented as a separate company under NS ENM. While NS ENM owns 87% of MASSIVE ENC, the remaining 13% came from Pacemaker Entertainment, a company tied to NS ENM CEO Ko Byungcheol. This indicates that the acquisition may have been more about creating investor value and the appearance of independence than establishing a genuinely separate management. ASI plays a central role: he is credited as Executive Producer, the ablume members continue to use his studio for filming, and they work with some of the same staff who were involved with the original FIFTY FIFTY. This suggests that MASSIVE ENC may function mainly as a front company, while the actual management and creative decisions are controlled by ASI and The Givers. Historically, ASI has used similar strategies — operating groups under different company names to maintain control while avoiding direct scrutiny. The concern is that this pattern could repeat, putting ablume members in a potentially risky situation where they are controlled by someone with a controversial history, even if the public sees them as being under a new, independent label. In short, what appears to be a "new beginning" for ablume under MASSIVE ENC is in fact a continuation of ASI's control masked by corporate restructuring. Fans should investigate how operations are actually carried out behind the scenes. Because this was not Ahn sun gil (CEO of the givers)'s first idol smuggling, nor will it be the last. Discussion questions:🤔 Were the ablume members aware they’ve been managed by ASI all along? Why do fans continue to support ASI despite his controversial past? submitted by /u/GooseSignificant8293 [link] [comments]
