Even though I do agree that it’s just an extravagant party for rich and famous people the event will have the impact planned by the organizers. Firstly, it’s an awareness event, which means that the main goal is for the topic to be more talked about or at least less taboo. Although they could have done better by including questions for the guests about the topic to make it more prevelant, just making an event out of it already creates lots of public interest. This makes it a more acceptable topic to talk about. Secondly, getting all this attention, even if negative, causes the issue to gain more public interest and creates more political pressure. More people will now look into the topic or be interested in what’s happening on it. Politically events like these and the public interest that follows makes it more likely to be on the political agenda and thus also causes government donations and programs for research, prevention and caretaking. Especially politicians that want to capitalize on the sudden public interest will try to capitalize on this. Although, again, they could have emphasized the issue more, the fact that idols and celebrities just show up is the most important. As with most political or other events it doesn’t really matter what idols do or say but more so that the speak on an issue or just show up since that it what creates the public attention and puts on the political pressure. Funny clips, them having fun and them looking pretty is what gains the most attention (whether you think that’s a good thing or not) which means more awareness and interest. This is essentially the same idea as them going to fashion shows where they just show their face for the brand to gain a better or more recognizable image and that there is lots of attention on the brand. Nobody cares much about what the celebrities have to say about the brand or if they actively participate in the show, they just watch for the favorites and become more aware of the brand in the process. Fun clips, funny clips, them talking about upcoming content or them just looking very creates more interest from the audience and thus more brand recognition (which is the goal). Thirdly, indirectly these types of events do generate a lot of money/donations. Yes, I think they should make the celebrities pay hefty entrance fee to get the ball rolling and set and example of donations for others and that is definitely something the organizers should change. (I’m also aware the brands of the idols are paying for them to be shown but these people are rich enough to also pay a large ticket fee). However, a lot of charities use events like this to gain big donors. They throw large, often private and extravagant parties, to make their charity more appealing and to stand out. Big donors enjoy the events and are than more open to follow up conversations about giving a large donation or keep the charity in mind when wanting to make a large donation. It also has the added benefit of making them look better for donating to the charity in front of their rich friends. Does this sound kinda dystopian, yeah, but it does actually work and is often used by for instance UN organizations. In addition, as mentioned in the first two points, because this event is not private and there are lots of celebrities you gain the addition benefit off public attention which causes more small donations from a lot of people and more possible government investments. In conclusion, the organizers could create more emphasis on the topic and ask the celebrities questions about it while also charges them a way higher fee, but the event does fulfill its purpose of attracting celebrities and gaining attention by showing clips of them having fun which leads to (eventually) more interest and donations. submitted by /u/Dashydefiance [link] [comments]

When groups release music targeted to younger audiences (preteens, teens, sometimes even kids lol), they're more likely to get a larger number of streams and views on youtube because the kids' market is HUGE. For example, APT/Golden/Gangnam style are songs literally every kid knows about and dances to Kids REPEAT what they like watching a billion times, that clearly happened with Golden a lot Even with nursery rhymes, kids do that. For example, gangnam style has 5.7(?)bn views currently, with 31M likes. Whereas, that baby shark song has 16bn views with only 45M likes, which is an incomparable ratio lmao Younger audiences who watch an M/V on repeat are obviously not going to like the video. It's either that, extremely die hard fans or... Ads? That I still don't really understand but I get are used sometimes What do you guys think? submitted by /u/Gold_Meaning3688 [link] [comments]

I usually don’t post here, but I have to get this off my chest because the data literally speaks for itself. The 2025 MAMA Best Dance Performance (Male Solo) final nominees were just announced — and Ten, who was ranked 3rd in every prediction based on real metrics for three consecutive months since July, is the only one from the top 5 to be left out and despite outperforming Kai and Mark in the metrics for 3 months. And he was instead replaced by SHINee’s Key (also from SM and from the same production center Prism) despite the fact that Stunner did way better than Key’s Hunter in number, and well honestly, also in choreo and in impact. I mean Stunner had real organic impact and numbers despite the fact that his solo releases somehow always conflict with other NCT soloists - this year it was with Mark’s and last year it was with Taeyong’s. I mean you can just search YouTube and see how there are so many posted Stunner dance cover complete with Stunner’s EP logo in the thumbnail. Even Ten’s older songs like Birthday and Nightwalker still get dance covers and I don’t think I could say the same for dance performance and nominee MAMA and SM replaced him with. No hate on Key especially because he’s close with Ten but it’s obvious they are using him to bury Ten’s work and prevent him from getting any visibility in mainstream kpop. Also, just to put it out there, Key has a decent body of work but still I can’t deny that the spot given to him was supposed to be Ten’s and somebody has to say it. Let’s Talk Dance Performance Excellence Now the new criteria to determine the winner gives 40% to judges. And honestly, even if GD and J-hope did astronomically way better than Ten in numbers cuz well, they are the biggest kpop names out there, little as it may be, Ten actually has an actual chance of winning if all the judges will focus only the dance performance quality and execution and not be affected by popularity. It’s simply because Stunner choreo is indeed very sophisticated and was such a masterclass in textures. I don’t need to discuss how it’s much more superior to the choreos of other dance performances nominated but let’s just say Babyzoo (dancer/battler/choreographer) himself said that Bambola (pre-release of Stunner) was only possible because it’s Ten, yet despite that, on the bts video he admitted that Stunner is even more difficult than Bambola (keep in mind that dancing is more than just moving the limbs but actually expressing the feel of the choreo and the vibe of the song). And Babyzoo doesn’t just casually say these things with other kpop acts he works with. But yeah, this is not a perfect world so honestly Ten’s fans weren’t expecting him to win either. They know Ten doesn’t have mainstream kpop clout so what they really wanted was to see Ten a least get nominated and possibly perform solo in MAMA so he could show them who he is onstage. Basically, they just want and opportunity that comes way easier for Korean idols. Elephant in the room: Ten is not Korean Let’s be real, Korean citizenship/blood is the only thing Ten doesn’t have compared to other nominees. This is not a dig at other nominees cuz I am actually also a VIP (GD is another ult) and I also have a soft spot for Mark. This is about SM and MAMA and how it’s ironic that they are so hungry of global success for Korean artists but are not letting non-korean solo kpop artists like Ten get the respect they deserve. The double-standard. The greed. The gate-keeping. Anyway.. Ten’s contract is about to end. And I do hope he leaves kpop for his solo endeavors. Not because kpop is no good. But because the people controlling it will never allow him to rise to the level of success he deserves. And also, I am not sure if I will still be willing to fully support artists who allow themselves to be used and abused by their labels. It’s much easier to respect people who know their worth. I just hope Ten goes the Jackson Wang/ Lay Zhang/ Lisa route or do something a bit similar cuz honestly kpop is not yet ready for him. submitted by /u/Intelligent-Ad9582 [link] [comments]
