BTS' korean fandom seems to be the least loyal out of all top groups' korean fandoms IMO

Don't jump me but it's just the vibe I get. Maybe it's a natural disparity created by global fame or maybe it's recency bias but I feel like among top groups, their Korean fandom seems the least loyal and also kind of not as vocal? Especially for a top group. I feel like a lot of their Korean fans moved onto other groups during the hiatus or just moved on in general, and their international fandom actually seems to be a bit more loyal in comparison to their Korean one which is a bit strange because it's usually reversed for kpop groups. Like the I-side still slacked off during hiatus which is natural, but I feel like they'd still have random bursts of support like would do listening parties from time to time and trend stuff and whatnot but it feels like the K-side is just... crickets. Kind of makes me think they won't do that well on korean charts/platforms in the future. Not saying they have no korean fandom at all, I just feel like they are not as supportive anymore and no longer do the usual fan activities. Even some smaller groups have Korean fandoms that are more active and vocal than them. Even fandoms of older groups or previous top groups. I mean the Korean side of groups like EXO, BB, SUJU, Shinee, SVT, etc., seem more vocal and active at times. submitted by /u/oddv8gue [link] [comments]

1.107. How does your Top 10 GG Power Ranking look right now?

  • 1 week ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

In sports or any competitive league, official or unofficial power rankings are often used to compare teams or groups within the league. Power rankings differ from regular rankings because they focus more on current momentum rather than long-term legacy or fanbase size. With that said, here is how my current power rankings would look for active GGs in the industry (excluding NJ, since they are currently inactive and their future is unknown). I'm personally basing mine off of these criteria with somewhat equal weighting (may not be completely accurate since I'm not actually calculating it meticulously): - Digital performance (Melon, Spotify, YouTube) - Physical Album Sales - Media coverage (like endorsements, TV/YouTube appearances) - Touring activity - Fanbase growth/decline Mine would look something like this (take it with a grain of salt): 1. aespa - This group continues to ride the momentum from their incredible 2024. Supernova to Whiplash was a crazy back to back and they swept the EOY charts/awards. They have another global tour scheduled for later this year and they maintain a strong, large fanbase. There's also high anticipation for their upcoming comeback later this month. 2. Blackpink - Been inactive as a group for a long time but the members have been very active with successful solo ventures. Their first group comeback in nearly three years is happening soon, along with a grand world tour. They are a legacy group, but they still make noise like no other. They could very well take the top spot in the near future. 3. IVE - One of the top GGs in the industry holding a death grip on the younger demographic. Wonyoung and Yujin are two of the biggest superstars in the industry and they own the domestic media coverage with endorsements. Musically, many fans believe their recent outputs aren't as appealing as their earlier sound. Despite that, they are still charting very well, and I think they will remain among the top groups for the foreseeable future. 4. Le Sserafim - This group's career trajectory has been a wild roller coaster ride, but they are currently on a major upswing. Their domestic influence isn't as strong as some of the groups on this list. But they are gaining more international popularity. They are also running a successful tour atm with a focus on the Japanese market. I can see them remaining in the top 5 for some time. 5. TWICE - Another legacy group on the list with a major following. Their touring numbers are insane and no one can compete with them in the Japanese market. Influence-wise, they are definitely on a decline by multiple metrics. However, their core fanbase is so large to begin with that it doesn't seem like they'll be experiencing a major fall off anytime soon. 6. IDLE - I would have put IDLE in the top 5 just a year ago. They are still massive, but their digital performance and fanbase hasn't really been growing since their Tomboy/Queencard/Nude run. Their most recent comeback is the biggest indicator of their decline, but they still sold over a million physical albums in their first week. Their ranking might see a huge drop if their next comeback isn't a major success. 7. NMIXX - A live performance-oriented group with insane vocals across the board. Their recent albums have been praised by both international/domestic music critics and their fanbase is growing year after year. Their most recent comeback also saw very impressive album sales. They seem to be focusing heavily on the Latin America market more than other groups on the list based on their recent touring activity. I could see them jump up a few spots in the rankings if they score a major hit. 8. BABYMONSTER - A group of high energy performers with a strong hip-hop sound. Despite being barely over a year old, they've already went on a tour. YG is clearly focusing more on the international market with this group, as opposed to the domestic market. They are the top 5th gen group on this list and they will only go up from here as long as YG doesn't shift their focus onto the upcoming new GG. 9. ITZY - They had a meteoric rise after their debut followed by a major fall since. With the emergence of other successful 4th gen groups, they've been dropping in the rankings year after year. Their tours are still successful and their core fanbase still remains large. However, they've been on a downward trajectory for a long time and it doesn't seem like the trend will be reversed anytime soon. They are in midst of a contract negotiation and it will be intriguing to what will happen to the group. 10. tripleS - A mega-sized group that K-pop has never seen before. They are quietly building a sizable fandom, especially domestically, and their recent album sales have seen a major boost. Their variety contents have been making a lot of noise, and they have become much more visible on YouTube lately. They seem to be on a healthy upswing in terms of momentum. Honorable Mentions: Illit - A 5th gen group that had a mega debut hit. Their subsequent releases were nowhere near successful as Magnetic but honestly, surpassing that would have been unrealistic. They are gaining more recognition in the Japanese market, and they will certainly rise in the rankings in the future. KISS OF LIFE - This group was experiencing a healthy growth in popularity with each comeback since debut. They were projected to break into the top 10 if it weren't for their recent controversy. All metrics are indicating that the controversy inflicted a visible damage, and it will be intriguing to see how their career pans out from here on out. Do you agree? Disagree? I'm curious to see what your rankings would look like! submitted by /u/Organic-Cranberry955 [link] [comments]

- a really random thought I had while watching Love Island tbh... idk why but just thought Intak from P1H would slay here... think he'd last and actually find love and would bring good TV - could see Xiaoting on America's Next Top Model... she has got that aura & confidence to me - Feel like Seulgi would be great on The Traitors just cuz I never know with her... feel like she could fool them all and win - Jennie on the bachelor would be so insane... I don't watch but I fear I'd have to tune in if that ever came true. Just cuz there would be so many ppl that would sign up. submitted by /u/Major-Specialist3658 [link] [comments]

1.113. Any other idols that get parts in songs that are too similar?

  • 1 week ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

This post is mostly inspired by Jongho from ateez. He has a great voice and I always love his parts in ateez's discography, but I think his lines are sometimes repetitive. He always gets THE high note in the song and that's usually it. If you listen to a handful of ateez songs in a row, it just feels like the same thing in different fonts lol. He has a super strong and powerful voice, but I feel like they could showcase his voice in different contexts once in a while. Do you agree/Are there any other idols you feel like have the same vibe? submitted by /u/ShinyFlower19 [link] [comments]

1.115. A Discussion about Kpop and Tiktok

  • 1 week ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

So before I start: I've been into Kpop since early 2015 (when I was 12yrs old) and BigBang+ BTS got me into Kpop. I feel like I always valued the relationships that fandoms had with their Idol Group. But I feel like all the new gen idol groups being on tiktok, following every micro tiktok trend, being on chatting apps where you can pay to chat with a memberis too much. Don't get me wrong. I am okay with apps like weverse but I feel like there should still be border between fandom and idol group? Like I love seeing my faves on my timeline but its just too much when I see them on tiktok constantly- following every little micro trend. I also don't need my idol group on my timeline dancing a snippet of their newest music with 34209203 different idols. I know it's just for song promotion but still- something about it just feels too much. I'd rather have a youtube video, a behind the scenes video or a video in which they just play games together, dance practices, interviews and that's enough. Sometimes I even wonder if they even have time to breath whenever I see these idol-chatting apps countless tiktoks etc. idk if anyone gets me but yeah... I'd love to have a conversation about that. submitted by /u/gt86xv [link] [comments]

1.121. KiiiKiii and Hearts2Hearts [RANKING]

  • 1 week ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

KiiiKiii and Hearts2Hearts [RANKING] This is my personal ranking of the two 5th gen girlgroups that I'm currently obsessed with. Now my current group I'm stanning is mainly KiiiKiii but this ranking won't be bias. This is also not a comparison just a fun ranking. I'll be ranking on music, popularity, styling (keeping visuals out of it but expressing how it compliments their outfits) and then giving my opinion on where I think they will go from here. Again just my opinion you don't have to care or agree. Music KiiiKiii Hearts2Hearts I do think "The Chase" is more of a grower song for me despite the fact everyone loves it so much and while it is a bop, I prefer "Butterflies" but then again my attention span is terrible so i do really need a song that instantly grabs me. I'm not even referring to "I DO ME" specifically here, since I don't prefer that song over Butterflies at all. but I find that this happened with me on almost all songs on Uncut Gem for that reason, the hooks were just catchier and pulled me in quicker. To me "Butterflies" sounded like the hit not "The Chase" I'm sorry and since it is the lead single I would say KiiiKiii's lead single is better. Styling Hearts2Hearts KiiiKiii Don't get me wrong KiiiKiii are all beautiful girls and this whole ranking is very subjective but..I didn't like any of their outfits. I get that it's supposed to be quirky and fun and outgoing looks but I just wasn't impressed but it did go well with theur visuals. Meanwhile I am so here for Hearts2Hearts styling, its just perfect so cute and minimalistic but still really pretty and really fits their gorgeous visuals too, HAVE YOU SEEN CARMEN?? Popularity Hearts2Hearts KiiiKiii They only just debuted but it's no secret KiiiKiii only really hit it domestically and that's been it so far. Hearts2Hearts definitely have more international fans than KiiiKiii does and are also doing better in that market. Winner: it's basically a tie cause popularity can change so drastically especially in k-pop but one group's styling is better and one group's music is better IN MY OPINION. Where I see them going from now? I think KiiiKiii will do good as girl crush. BTG is amazing and I would really like to see them do something like Itzy since I feel like the concepts are similar in the way that they both are quirky and fun. Hearts2Hearts will be a great cute concept group, leaning more into those schoolgirl styles and just slay the house down. I really do see them becoming even bigger but I feel like considering the multiple bangers KiiiKiii has on their belt, KiiiKiii might just become bigger. Regardless I will continue to listen to Uncut Gem EP and "Butterflies" on repeat and if you haven't checked them out...what are you doing??? submitted by /u/p0pcultured [link] [comments]

Saw this shirt and this brand URTE KAT getting popular within idol styling. IVE Yujin,Kiss Of Life Julie, and one of the member from P-Nation new gg wearing same shirt. Thought it look beautiful Also i think there's another 3 idol who also wear the exact shirt or the another version which is in gray. Who do you think that wear this shirt also. Also will this be the "What did i do last night" yellow shirt,The donut hoodie and the butterfly crop top. I think this shirt is so cute and i think any idol can pull it off.
