it's no secret that this pipeline exists- it's not uncommon for idols to become actors, especially those who have carefully curated a public persona outside of their real one. but it's not exactly easy- and i can think of quite a few idols who definitely needed a few acting lessons before getting thrust into a drama. although it reduces the quality of a drama, i do genuinely feel bad for them since they often just get thrown in. there are a few that i believe have more than succeeded, but thrived under this context. some examples include hwang min hyun, park jihoon, IU, lim yoona, bae suzy, rowoon and lee junho. it is also important to mention people that had aimed for careers in music but ultimately settled on acting like park hyung sik, seo in guk and im si wan. i'm curious to see who else exists that is actually good ! i would like to say, let's not start slandering anyone who has acted poorly, since it kind of isn't their fault- they're thrust into an entirely different industry and it's outside of their comfort zone, and we should just encourage their improvement :)) submitted by /u/Active-Resolution-44 [link] [comments]
