Wonhee is only 18 but already gets so much unnecessary hate every single day. People started coming for her because of a mistranslation that completely twisted her words. Some accounts claimed she said, “In my opinion, when it comes to the most popular girl group, it’s always been TWICE”, and people ran with it like it was a huge scandal but if you look at the actual translation, she said, “So I had to choose between BTS sunbaenims’ 'I Need You' and this. But I picked 'Heartshaker' because when I think of K-pop girl groups, it has always been TWICE sunbaenims for me. Since I was young, they’ve been a big part of my life. I always watched their new content and danced to their songs all the time”. Even if she did say TWICE is the most popular girl group, that is her personal opinion. People are allowed to have favorites. She wasn’t shading anyone. It was just a normal comment from a young girl who clearly looks up to TWICE. Then there was that random person who tried to claim Wonhee was a bully in middle school but the way they wrote in Korean felt really off. It didn’t sound natural at all. Later it turned out the person wasn’t even Korean but Indonesian. That alone makes the whole accusation fall apart. It felt more like someone just trying to make trouble for no reason. ILLIT as a group gets so much hate. People target them just because they are doing well and because they are under HYBE. It’s not about the members themselves. It’s just people being bitter or jealous of their success. Wonhee hasn’t done anything wrong. She hasn’t been involved in any actual scandals. She’s just a young idol living her dream, and people are acting like she deserves to be torn apart over nothing.
