Thereâs two axis, volatility and opinionatedness. These two axis make four quadrants and these four quadrants make your four types of Kpop fan. Low volatility, low opinionatedness: A quadrants exclusively made up of new heads not yet corrupted by the toxic kpop environment. They have not interacted with enough people to start building negative impressions and aversions to certain groups and just take everything at face value and enjoy what they find for what it is. Will move out of this quadrant within a year. High volatility, low opinionatedness: Almost always itâs one group and doesnât care about other groups. If you speak to them, they wonât have much to say aside from getting you to give their ultimate group a 32nd try in case you didnât quite get them after you 31st previous introductions to them. These people are harmless and are typically friend having people but their obsession is at unhealthy levels which you will find out if you say something negative about their cult group. Then you will be hit by volleys of personal attacks and condemnations. Low volatility, high opinionatedness: Doesnât like group A, B, C, D or W, X, Y or Z. They like group L, M, N and O and P is alright but the fan base is cringe. They can dish it but they ca canât take it. They spend all their time promoting their favs by comparing them to groups and idols they consider inferior and overrated. Any sort of contradiction to the thing they say and they act above it all. Theyâre simply too enlightened to have to address anything that challenges what they say. This person has friends but they definitely donât like kpop. They exclusively talk kpop to a well vetted echo chamber of their own creation and will never have to look a kpop fan in the eyes when they talk to them about their shared hobby. High volatility, high opinionatedness: Letâs not be delusional, this is whereâs most kpop fans live. Fans of A group are killing Kpop, fans of C group? Jeez, theyâre killing kpop I hate them and their group for sure. Kpop wouldnât even matter if not for Group B. This is the only group with talent. And their success is admirable while group Aâs success is fraudulent and group Câs is just circumstantial. Group B has the most beautiful members while group A has plastic, fake looking dolls and group C is just unfortunate looking. How are they even idols. Honestly in group B member A is the real talent and real beauty and theyâd be better solo. I hate member B fans always acting hard done by when theyâre just not as good and member C needs to stop sabotaging the group by focusing just on themself and their solo activities. What? You agree with 99.9% with what I said? How dare you disagree with me, how dare you even talk to me. Who even asked you. I canât believe you acted so cool only to go mask off like that you creep. Leave kpop and go do something else. This person naturally has no friends in real life and only talks to the few dozen people who share their hyper specific list of opinions while waging war nonstop on the rest of the kpop space for not holding their opinions. Note: If it wasnât obvious, this whole post is just a joke. Just having fun. submitted by /u/Beginning-Bad2979 [link] [comments]
I'm not that big into BTS anymore - sure, I'm active on ARMY forums and I will defend them if needs be, but I wouldn't say I'm a massive fan of the group. But if there's one member I DO love it's Yoongi. Yoongi is someone I, in particular, can relate to - I've been depressed most of my life, struggling with a difficult home and school life which led me to become depressed. When I got into K-Pop and looked deeper into their songs, I found Yoongi's solo work and realised that we're actually very similar. Another thing is I can tell, at the very least, he's got a good heart: particuarly through his philanthropy and his actions as a whole - he's putting his position to good use, which was shown in his volunteering with helping neurodivergent children and using music to help others. Another thing I love is his rapping - call me biased, but he's one of the best K-Pop rappers to date, from his wordplay, to his flow, to his general lyricism he's a 10 across the board: he has an amazing discography full of different topics for different things, so if you don't like one song: you're sure to like another. Nobody has been able to top him in that regard. Whenever I meet someone, mainly someone who isn't a BTS fan, they usually have nothing negative to say about Yoongi or Jin. Sure, he's had the odd few scandals (his biggest being the incident last August), but compared to other idols, he's relatively unproblematicâ atleast from what I've seen of him. I think we should all learn to love this kitty and his work. Live, laugh, love Min Yoongi. submitted by /u/Calm-Comfortable2659 [link] [comments]
Purple kiss' recent album release, which is also gonna be their last, put me into thoughts about their disbandment and the current state of rbw. Purki meant a lot to me so I'm sad it came to this. It looks like rbw really lucked out with mamamoo and had no plans on what they're gonna do after the group ran its course and the members inevitably wanted to try out solo activities. They relied on them until the last moment. Their strategy to distance themselves from mamamoo financially didn't work because of many bad choices. With purle kiss (at least to me,as an ex fan)it looks like they went for a group with the same amount of talent as mamamoo but a completely different artistic direction to differentiate themselves from them. Purple kiss started out with a whichy/horror kind of concept but they didn't stick with it for long as they constantly switched between that and a softer concept and sound. I know their concept doesn't have a board appeal but if rbw played their cards right they could have found their niche and built steady careers like dreamcatcher. Couple that with the influx of high profile debuts and comebacks in 2022 that inevitably overshadowed smaller artists and I think these are the main reasons purple kiss ended up where they are. They did gain momentum outside of the fandom in the past, for example with zombine and sweet juice but rbw didn't capitalize on it and let it go. It looks like they really don't know how to find their next money makers and this is why they are remodeling their system again, thus disbanding purple kiss. It's a way to cut their losses, just like a retail store lays off employees to cut costs. At least they're giving them a propel farewell and the disbandment seems to be in agreement with the members submitted by /u/Alive-Pitch-9180 [link] [comments]

My biggest dream is to have TXT sing âHoshi wo Mezashiteâ by NEWS. IT IS SO TXT CODED. These are some of the lyrics (Genius trans.): *You put a spell on me So that when I died, I'd be brought back to life When I woke up, you were there in the light And I was reborn Is everyone here? Aiming for the stars, led by you Singing, I start to walk I won't look back On my wounded youth* I was a huge NEWS fan back in the day so you can imagine how I felt when Yamapi collaborated with Taehyun for âPerfect Stormâ. Thatâs the closest I feel weâd get but I never thought my worlds collide but here we are. Now Iâm getting greedy and hope that weâd get this cover đ. submitted by /u/Additional_Study_84 [link] [comments]

Not sure if mascots is the best word, just referring to characters that represent specific members in groups. (E.G. BTS - BT21, Twice - Lovelys, ATEEZ - ANITEEZ) Are there any groups (or singular members) you think have the best mascots? I love BT21, especially the creativity; none of the characters are the same animal/species, and there are a few very out-of-the-box creatures. RESCENE just announced their characters, and I'm especially excited for Ming, Yam, and Ribbu. In ANITEEZ I love JJOONGrami, HETmongi, and JJONGbear. A few others would be NCT Dream's DREAM( )SCAPE ZONE plushes. Specifically, Mark, Renjun, and Chenle's. For SKZoo, I especially love Changbin's mascot. RIIZE has some unique ones with Eunseok, Sohee, and Anton. SHINee's Key has a fun goblin-inspired mascot. MINITEEN also has fun mascots. I enjoy the food-themed ones (Woozi - Steamed Rice, Mingyu - Potato, and Seungkwan - Tangerine), and Vernon's mascot just being a human is hilarious. Would like to clarify this isn't hating on any specific mascots/characters! This is just an opinion-based discussion, and I wanted to see what mascots other fans love. submitted by /u/ButterflyMinute9605 [link] [comments]
It feels like KPOP Demon Hunters are literally everywhere right now. Their track âGoldenâ just hit #1 on the charts đ„ Their Netflix movie went straight to #1 worldwide đ And now thereâs an upcoming PlayStation game called K-POP Girls vs Monsters đŸ Kinda wild to think we might be seeing the first KPOP group to dominate all 3 worlds: đ¶ Music â đŹ Film â đź Gaming. Honestly, if the game delivers, I wouldnât be surprised if it becomes the next big PS hit. What do you guys think â can KPOP break into gaming just as strong? submitted by /u/BarracudaExciting880 [link] [comments]

See title, but oh my, I never realized just how out of touch with reality I was until I got off Twitter. I deleted the app more so because of Musk, and I really miss the memes and updates that came from it. However, not seeing all the fan wars and discourse really allowed me to touch some grass and become more productive. Am I as in the know about certain releases and controversies? No. Am I overall less engaged with K-pop as a whole? Kind of. I havenât tuned out the music, but I find out about them a bit later than most now. But truly, itâs probably best that Iâm not so focused on all the news in K-pop anymore, and I mostly just tune in for the music these days. Maybe Iâll get pulled back in one day, who knows, but for now, this is good. submitted by /u/Yayeet2014 [link] [comments]

It just dawned on me that what Twice really is right now is 11 different acts in one trench coat. You've got the 9 members as a singular act with their own projects, ambitions, and goals. 4 of these members have become solo artists who potentially want more musical projects in the future and perhaps even things like solo concerts or even a tour. As the years go by, the other 5 members might want to do solo albums too. We also have one actress right now and a potential second one coming next year. Other members have also expressed interest in that. Then there's the smatterings of youtube shows and endorsements. You've also got MiSaMo as a sub-unit. So far, they have had one release a year since their debut plus a tour in Japan. They have also done OSTs in the past years. MiSaMo as a project goes on top the solo activities of the members. Finally, you have Twice the group. As of now, there seems to be 2 non-negotiables: a Korean release and a Japanese release each year. They have also toured each year as well as various other group performances like award shows or festivals. Their tours can take more than a year for completion between each round. We also have stuff like Time to Twice and other promotional activities. Listing all of that, I am frankly extremely amazed at the sheer efficiency and productivity of their division. They went from handling one act to eleven in just a few years. All the members have some sort solo activity now whether that be solo music, endorsements, acting, or hosting. Twice is also very much an active group and their activities seem to only grow larger in scale every year. STRIDE (the Twice division name) is obviously not perfect, but I gotta say, they seem to have done a really good job managing the girls so far. submitted by /u/BlueThePineapple [link] [comments]
